I started using the Mansfield dealership 5 years ago. I had a Citroen and now have a Peugeot. Sad to report that it’s gone downhill, in a bad, ‘everything-stripped-back’ way. Apparently, it was bought out by some company and there’s no more genuine customer care or service, to the point of actually endangering customers. I was given an unsafe ‘cover’ car whose speedometer and speed-limit indicator weren’t working. Not something I’ve ever seen before, neither did I think it was possible. And for a car dealership to give that to a customer is absolutely unacceptable. Secondary to that, it was filthy inside and out. And my car was also returned without having had the complimentary wash, after having been at the dealership for many days. I have also put in an official complaint but I will probably move to another brand/company/dealership once my current lease is over.

Had a terrible experience with Evans Halshaw Peugeot Mansfield, I was blatantly lied to and fobbed off for about four weeks before eventually getting back my van,
Peugeot EV van recovered into Evans Halshaw as a non runner (flat 12v battery, and numerous associated faults).
Vehicle booked in with Evans Halshaw Peugeot (EHP), Mansfield for the 23/01/2026.
Specialist recovery attended, vehicle uplifted and taken to EHP, Mansfield ready for
23/01/2026.
Numerous calls and visits, every two or three days to EHP service department requesting
updates on diagnostics and outcomes. Constantly told it takes time de-energise an EV to
be worked on safely, also told that technician in regular contact with head technical in
Latvia and that this was causing the delay due to time differences.
Received a call from Jason, EHP service department. After 23 days in EHP for diagnostics, I was told the van required a 12-volt battery before further diagnostics could take place, Jason to call back 17/02/2026 with price.
Received a call from Jason, EHP service department. Supply and fit new 12-volt battery to enable further diagnostics was £195.00 including vat. Jason was given verbal authorisation to go ahead with this work. New battery was to be ordered straight away for
delivery 18/02/2026. Diagnostics to continue as soon as battery was fitted.
Visited EHP to be told nothing had been done to the van since 16/02/2026 as “they couldn’t find a job card for the work”. Job card to be raised and they might be able to look at the van “sometime this week”. I told him (young lad on service desk) that this was
unacceptable.
Received a call from Jason, EHP service department. New battery had been fitted, fault codes had been erased, and all was good. Now informed the work wasn’t a warranty issue and would need to be paid for. Jason was asked about the original “Battery charge fault: Stop the vehicle” message, but admitted that it
hadn’t been investigated, all the relevant information was given again and this was to be passed onto the technician working on the vehicle.
For anyone living in the Mansfield area, I would suggest driving an extra 10 or so miles and use either Stellantis at Nottingham or Stoneacre at Chesterfield.

Never used a main dealer before but after buying a newish car, I booked my car in for its first major service and also for them to look at the driver's door as the lock has failed and you can't open it.
Dropped car off and they said they would call me when its ready. I ended up calling them after 4pm and was told yes, it's ready... and the door was under warranty, and a new part had been ordered, and they would call me with an update.
Went to collect it and was told its outside and it's been hoovered and washed. First of all, I had to walk around the car park looking for it as no one told me where it was. Would have been nice for them to at least give me a rough idea.. Anyway, get to the car, it hadn't been hoovered but a bucket of water had been poured over the roof as the windows were now filthy from it.
I was in a rush so decided to just drive home.
Week past by and I called for an update, Said they would call me back. Nothing. So, a few days later called for an update, Said they would call me back, Nothing.
Today spent 20 minutes with the phone ringing before they answered and guess what.. No ETA on the part and Said they would call me back.
For a new customer that ''was'' looking at their service payment plan options when this is sorted that's me now done with main dealers. Back to local independent garages that care about the customer in future.

Terrible experience in trying to have recall work done. First appointment in December was cancelled by EH at short notice; replacement appointment, given over phone, for January, wasn't recorded, so when I arrived they had no record of it. Third appointment February - I was promised a fast and early job. Arrived for my 8.30 appointment to be told 'might be 3 hours because of slow internet connection'. I checked progress at 11.15 to be told that my vehicle hadn't been taken into workshop until 10.51. So, been waiting 2 hours at that point with nothing being done. At 12.40, after 4 hours of waiting, told server has crashed so job can't be finished. I'm a wheelchair user and for 4 hours waiting no-one came to see how I was or inform on progress. Disabled toilet was an obstacle course of getting past a paint cupboard - in the toilet - with a broken, open door. Altogether, since the initial booking in November I have had to arrange/ cancel personal assistance for travel; have driven 80 miles total, over 2 fruitless visits, and waited 4+ hours whilst staff just shrug at their own poor administration. In the waiting area I spoke with lots of other customers, ALL with the same examples of terrible and couldn't care- less attitude to resolving customer issues. I was assured categorically that the oil and filter HAD been changed as part of the work, but an independent service engineer 1 day afterwards, on inspection, stated that it did not have a new filter or new oil. They lied to me about the progress of the work, appears to have lied about the oil being changed, and couldn't care less about customers. I wouldn't use this branch again under any circumstances and if they are indicative of the Evans Halshaw brand then you should avoid them completely.

Would not recommend at all, shocking customer service and communication, with no acknowledgment or accountability to rectify issues on a number of occasions.
Bought a used Audi Q5 31st October 2025 with the agreement with the salesman that he would contact me on Monday to book the car in for them to replace the rear brake discs and pads (condition of the sale, otherwise I was happy to walk away but they wanted it gone to meet end of the month sales targets)
Was never contacted about this, and in the meantime noticed a scratch down the drivers side, and two of the centre console buttons came off, so spent 3 days trying to call to speak to the sales manager to return the car back to them (less than 2 weeks after buying the car) and was originally told they’d take it back but I couldn’t speak to the manager as they were “too busy dealing with other complaints” and would contact me the day after, which never happened.
I was finally contacted by the sales manager who refused to take the car back and told me I had to “give them a chance” to rectify the issues. I was then ignored again until the 26th November, and the car was then booked in for the brake pads and discs on 2nd December.
On 2nd December I took the car in at 8.30am as agreed, took time off of work and went to all 3 different garages (they’ve all merged/ swapped now) spending over an hour waiting to be seen to then be told there was no record of the car being booked in and the parts hadn’t been ordered.
I heard nothing and raised another complaint through the resolve form online, and was then contacted by head of business on the 19th December, and the head of sales arranged for me to take the car in on the 29th December for the brakes to be done, and an update to be given regarding the centre console buttons and the scratch.
Took the car back on the 29th, and unsurprisingly there was “no record” of the car being booked in again, and parts still hadn’t been ordered in. Jason from servicing was LOVELY, and I can’t fault him at all as he took ownership of it (having been on the desk the first time I took the car in) and sorted out getting the parts in that day and the job done as well as a hire car. When I returned to collect it that evening, there was another customer with a white Mercedes in the carpark who was also complaining to someone from sales about having to bring it back to rectify another issue, so others are clearly having similar experiences.
I then contacted the head of business again on the 6th Jan as I still hadn’t heard about the centre console buttons or scratch, and heard nothing back from him.
On the 13th I was emailed saying that the parts were in and arranged to drop the car in at 10am on the 19th, being told it would take around an hour and I could wait which was not a problem.
On the 19th I took the car in for a third time, and was told there was no record of it being booked in, and the manager was in a meeting so not able to speak to me. I asked for them to call me when they were out of the meeting, and was told they would do, but still haven’t had any contact.
I bought the car as I needed something to tow with, and this was made clear to the sales team, which is why the rear brakes were so important to me. I’m not going to put any money into a car (getting a towbar fitted) whilst there are still all of these unresolved issues, but this has put me out as I am now unable to use the car for the purpose I had bought it for. This is leaving me out of pocket, and causing a massive inconvenience, as well as taking time off work to take the car back so many times for work not to be done when promised, chasing people on the phone, and all the extra hassle.
I’m still waiting to be contacted about the centre console buttons and the scratch, and any resolution. I’ve lost ALL confidence with Evans Halshaw as I’ve been passed from person to person, promised the issues will be fixed, and asked repeatedly to “give us a chance to rectify the issues”, which simply doesn’t cut it anymore. I naively thought that going to a big dealership and spending a fair amount of money would reduce the chances of having issues and I couldn’t have been more wrong. If you’re looking to buy a car, I’d seriously consider going elsewhere.
