I received excellent service from the friendly efficient staff. This is the 1st time I've used Evans Halshaw as they've taken over the Renault franchise since my car had it's last service. It was made easier to deal with due to the fact that all my car's servicing records had been transferred over from Renault Manchester

Ryan Street at Evans Halshaw Manchester has provided excellent customer service. I am a trustee of a small charity and we got the opportunity for a grant to buy an electric van, a game changer for us. Suffice to say for various reasons out of my control and Ryan's control it was a long, complex and stressful process. At times I thought we would not meet the funders deadline to get the van. Ryan was unfailing polite, helpful and most importantly had a 'can do' attitude. Thanks to his amazing patience and help today we picked up our van, something that was a distant dream a year ago and something we had one chance to get right. Thank you Ryan!

I received a recall letter for my Clio,so, as advised, tried to make an appointment. Despite trying for several days using different numbers, nobody answered the phone. I tried emailing and several days later received a phone call and was able to book an appointment to get this potentially dangerous fault fixed. Upon arriving at the service centre found a car park so overcrowded with cars lining the internal roads making it difficult to enter/ exit a space even if you could find one. I'll drive 15 miles to Bolton rather than use Renault Manchester for my next service/ purchase. On a more positive note, the staff were friendly and helpful and this negative review in no way reflects on them. The fault belongs to whoever decided to relocate from Trinity Way to this overcrowded site also used by the Ford dealership

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this dealership from start to finish. A huge shoutout to Haider Malik who assisted me - incredibly helpful, patient, and knowledgeable every step of the way. Haider and his manager worked to ensure I got the deal I was hoping for on the Renault Clio. The level of professionalism and customer service is outstanding. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this dealership.

It is generally Okay.
Used to go to Renault Manchester for servicing and it has now been taken over by them. Things generally went smoothly, but were slightly off track. They were supposed to send a report along with the vehicle inspection video, but they sent a placeholder instead. I mentioned this to the staff directly, and they said it would be resent, but so far nothing has been received.
Next time I might be go back to Renault Retail Group.

I was (unfortunately, it turned out) transferred from RRG to Evans Halshaw Mancheser due to relocation.
I tried 10+ times to call in advance of my car service to ask some questions about it. They NEVER answer the phone. I tried sales and asked to be transferred. Just rang out.
Question was regarding a price discrepancy they had sent by email. I submitted an official complaint in advance just to try and get someone to speak to me. Completely ignored.
Quote from their complaints auto-response - "Customer satisfaction is our top priority and we are now investigating your concern with a matter of urgency to ensure your issue is resolved as soon as possible. We will contact you within 48hrs to agree an action plan. Best Regards,"
Obviously they can't even manage their own complaints procedure.
I tried to call them again on the day to ask if they could check a noise I'd noticed. Again, NEVER answered the phone.
I returned to pick up the car and showed them the price discrepancy email, my unanswered official complaint and stated the fact they hadn't answered the phone again, in order for me to ask about the noise. Asked to see service manager. He gave the impression he just didn't care and wanted me out. He gave me his personal email to follow this up. I wrote to him also asking for a date to bring the car in again to investigate the noise. At my own inconvenience going a second time.
No reply. Surprise.
Submitted another complaint on the back of all this. No response.
Utterly appalling. They just want your money and then ignore you.
Edited after response:
So this means the issue is finished from your side despite my official complaints with no response and the fact I haven't had the car issue addressed? And also no sign of any explanation for anything at all?
Not sure where to go from here then asI don't see this as resolved at all

I purchased a Citroen grand tourer from Evans Halshaw in Manchester to be delivered to my home. They promised a full valet prior to delivery including buffing out any marks that may be visible.
Upon delivery I noticed a number of scratches on the car and immediately raised it to their customer care department who are yet to action this.
2 months have gone by and I have received very limited responses on how they are going to rectify the scratches and they appear to be ignoring my concerns overall. I have also raised 2 complaints to their head office.
Very poor customer service

Very disappointing experience since takeover
Evans Halshaw recently took over the Renault garage we bought our car from, and unfortunately the service has gone downhill badly.
As part of our original purchase, we were given two years of free servicing. When it came time to book the service, we repeatedly tried to contact the garage. For weeks there was no answer at all, and when we eventually got through, staff told us the garage had been taken over, was short-staffed, and promised to call us back. They never did.
We continued chasing this for around three months, constantly being told someone would get back to us — which never happened. Now we’ve been told that Renault will not honour the free service because too much time has passed.
This is completely unacceptable. The delay was entirely due to Evans Halshaw’s failure to answer calls, return calls, or book the car in. We had no control over this situation, yet we’re now being penalised for it. This issue lies with Evans Halshaw and Renault UK and should be resolved between them — not pushed back onto the customer.
What was once a great garage has now become one we wouldn’t recommend. Sadly, it seems Evans Halshaw are getting away with not honouring deals that were agreed before the takeover. We won’t be using this garage again.

After a horrendous time trying to book a service, I finally got my car booked in. On the day, staff were polite and the whole process looked and felt like a proper service had taken place. I drove away believing everything had been completed to the standard I paid for.
Three weeks later, I visited a completely unrelated independent garage (not part of the same company at all) to have a tyre replaced. While there, I was advised that my brake discs were dangerously worn — a serious safety concern, and one that absolutely should have been highlighted during the visual health check that was supposed to have been completed at the service on 13/10/25.
Concerned, I called the service provider for clarification. As soon as I mentioned what the independent garage had told me, I was informed that there is no paperwork, no health check report, and no system record showing that the service from 13/10/25 was ever carried out.
Very convenient.
To make things even better, I had already made 7 phone calls before this, speaking to 7 different people — all of whom promised an investigation and assured me they would call me back.
And as expected… not a single return phone call from any of them.
Zero. None. Not one.
Let’s be clear:
• The second garage that flagged the issue was not the same company
• They had no access to the service provider’s systems, and were simply giving an honest physical inspection
Yet the service provider’s position appears to be: If it’s not on our system, it didn’t happen.
Except of course, the payment definitely happened — because their card machine worked perfectly when I paid them.
Under UK consumer law:
• Consumer Rights Act 2015 (Sec 49) requires services to be carried out with reasonable care and skill
• Sec 55 confirms the consumer is entitled to a price reduction or refund if a paid service cannot be evidenced as completed
• Consumer Protection Regulations 2008 protect consumers from misleading omissions that influence buying decisions
This isn’t just poor admin, this is a complete breakdown in record keeping, process, and customer trust.
My advice to anyone reading this?
Avoid them. Their ability to take your money works flawlessly, but their ability to prove they serviced your vehicle apparently does not.
I booked a service, not a disappearing act.
Customers deserve transparency.
This company failed to provide it at every step.
