Outstanding customer service from Evan halshaw. Callum was fantastic from the very first phone call right through to purchasing a car for my daughter. He kept us informed every step of the way and was always quick to communicate any updates. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him.

He was professional, friendly, and took the time to explain everything thoroughly. Even after a disappointing experience with a car from the Bury garage—which wasn’t as described and ultimately fell through—Callum remained committed to helping us.

He truly went above and beyond to make sure we found the right car for my daughter, and we’re very grateful for his effort and support throughout the process. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and the team.

Absolutely Disgusting Experience
Bought a Audi Q3 from this company, car bought was full of flaws which we did not know about at the time. Pad for the 3 year warranty and servicing. Took the car in for a MOT and a service and slapped with a bill of £2900. Unbelievable. I had the car in for some work done previously that Evans Halshaw would not do under the warranty (wheel sensors) as just so happens isn't covered on the warranty and the price to get them done was more than double what other garages would do it for. I asked them to look at some of the items that apparently are in urgent need of fixing by Evans Halshaw and was told they are fine. Every time we try to get something done we speak to some snotty receptionist who clearly does not give a toss about the experience we are having with this company. Obviously just money grabbing bunch of complete liars with no respect for the aftercare of there customers (even when the aftercare has been paid in advance) Just don't bother with them.

Travelled up from York after reserving a car online and paying £100. I was told this would be returned if you did like the car. The car was not as described and was dirty both inside and out. Refused to return the £100 deposit.
Not good customer experience at all and very disappointing.

Very impressed with the service in here. A gentleman called Scott handled everything. He was very polite, helpful, quick and assertive to get me booked in, give me advice and help with my issues. I'd highly recommend this place

I called to Sunderland Even Halshaw for a fault on the heater / blower on my Duster.
This was a recurring problem and it was fixed by them 1 year 4 months ago. Out of the year guarantee so knew I would have to pay again. Last time I paid £105 for the repair. Then now wanted to do an unnecessary diagnostic test costing over £160 despite knowing that it is a common and reoccurring problem with a Duster. This was none refundable and non negotiable.
That means a bill of around £300 with parts and labour.
I got the problem fixed at my local garage for £96. Took two hours.
Even Halshaw are a total rip off and insisting on doing unnecessary work to hype the cost up. AVOID if possible.

Bought a car from yous beginning of Feb .. during the sale the communication was terrible I rang several times and told me I would get a phone call back and never did ... When I eventually bought the car it was scruffy and I mean scruffy ( biscuits, sweets, sticky stuff everywhere) when I took it back to get them to valet it again I got told they couldn't do it because the valeters are useless and won't be able to do it I got told to take it elsewhere and once I have done it to get a receipt and they would give me the money back which was just a big inconvenience to me , won't be buying from these again PS also the tyers are under the legal limits when I was told they aren't !!!

Dealt with Scott Cameron he helped me find the car i wanted, even though the car i was after wasnt on there sales cort he looked online and check other stores. We found one in Leeds and within a week I had the car he was great to deal with and made everything as little stressful as possible. Going to other dealers and dealing with loads of problems and alot of stress this was just what I needed i will definitely be coming back and would 100% recommended to friends and family Thanks

Very poor and expensive repairs.I purchased the car ten months ago and had to return it 3 or 4 times in the first month for problems that should have been picked up on the pre sale inspection.I put it in for a service and MOT on its due date only to find it failed on a ball joint that was a MOT advisory 12 months earlier and should have been picked up by the pre sales inspection before i purchased the car.After a conversation they dropped the repair bill from £1300 to £700 but still no apology received.Absolute terrible service aftercare.Will not buying a car or have repairs here again

I've been bringing my car to this garage ever since I bought it in October 2023. Any time I bring it in, there seems to be something not communicated or written down about what service/part is needed etc. Today I have brought my car in for it's major service as well as a water pump replacement. Considering I had been informed 1 WEEK AGO that I need to book in for these things, they hadn't written down it needed it's service. Also I requested a courtesy car for the day which I was told 'that's no problem I'll book one in' only for me to arrive and find out the person I had spoke to hadn't booked me one. This has ended up me being late for work stranded in the garage. The staff member who answer the phones clearly have no interest and couldn't care any less about their job or who they're looking after.

Excellent service. Can’t fault Evans halshaw bought all but 1 of my cars from them over the years. Steve couldn’t have done more made the transaction from old to new car quick and easy nothing was a bother to him. Fair to say when it’s time for an upgrade I’ll be back.

Booked an appointment to sell my car to Evans Halshaw after the online valuation was OK. Was honest when entering details in the valuation about marks on wheels but other than that car was in very good condition. Woman who the appointment was booked with was late for work and we were her first appointment. Then after saying she needs to test drive the car couldn't work out how to put it in reverse (it's an automatic btw 🤣) then disappeared for a 10 minute test drive. Upon returning and entering some details with all the charisma and customer service skills of a cardboard box, waited about 25 mins for a valuation team to come back and offered me £1500 less than they did online, giving no other reason than the car market fluctuates like that. £1500 in 5 days the valuation went down. Absolutely pathetic. Left the dealership, booked with webuyanycar within an hour and got 1k extra from them. Evans halshaw play the game of giving you an ok valuation online just to get you in and having been around I expected them to knock £500 off that valuation but £1500 is a complete joke. Rip off merchants. Will never do business again
