Very overcrowded. You can’t turn up with a plan for your workout, you need to turn up and fight to get on any machine. I’m in my 14 day cooling off period and trying to cancel my membership is turning into a nightmare. If you’re planning on joining, do o one month first to see how it is before you commit.

Decent gym, with newer equipment, even if in low numbers. Frequently busy, but friendly staff and good range of classes.

Interestingly can take out, update, upgrade membership etc online / in app. Can't cancel. Find this ropey practice.

Freezing is an option, but this is just paying them £5 to not go, which also seems pointless.

Cancelled a year ago, no issue one month notice given as stated. After a year of going elsewhere and after the refit I returned, 100 times better gym now. Never had issues with staff as others mention. All greet you. Sorry I ever left

Can’t give zero!
I have complained previously about a male being in the female changing rooms, but now heath reasons dictate I can’t go to the gym any more. I have tried, with notice to cancel my contract , 2 months remaining, and customer service told me to contact the gym directly. (Even though they tell you that you can cancel online) I contacted the gym requesting to cancel with immediate effect.
The manager demands a note from my doctor!!! What is this! Infant school!
I got advice from CAB today, and they said to invoke the managers discretion part of the contract and try to appeal to their better nature!
Ha! What a joke! Again told I need a note from the doctor!
No sorry, nothing , just rude uncaring and un sympathetic!
Do not use Everlast!
Diabolical customer service!
Quick enough to take your money,
No thought given after!
Not to mention freezing cold changing rooms and people that pee in the sauna and steam room!!
Robbing, rude ……. Stay clear!

Never ever join one of these gyms

They got you tied into a contract.its states online you can give a months notice but they want all personal information of you to do this

There in no cleaning equipment in the gym to clean any machine for 10 months

People urinate in the steam room and the sauna

The place is disgusting and so are the staff’s attitudes

Just felt I had to write in response to the comment about unfriendly staff. I am an overweight middle aged woman not their usual client, but they couldn't be nicer..
I joined to use the pool and am thrilled with it, not too busy during the day. Steam and sauna always working, other users friendly too.. but what else would you expect in Merthyr

The gym has improved since the upgrade with the improvement of the equipment, still very busy at peak times though.

The main issue up there is the staff who work there. Everytime I walk into the gym to buy a soft drink, all the staff members are sat down on a table leaving the counter with nobody to greet people who walk in. I cannot count the amount of times I have gone without purchasing a drink there because of the scowl you get when somebody has to get up to serve me, I have never experienced anything like it. I know you are entitled to a break when you are working, but when the whole staff are sitting down having a mothers meeting for hours, fair play I am in the wrong job.

Alongside this, a handful of staff could do with a lesson in smiling.

Great classes for all abilities , friendly staff really helpful with any problems that arise.

Wide range of facilities such as sauna and pool which is great for a relax after training.

Amazing facility, top equipment and great environment. Good service with friendly staff and super clean and comfortable gym for everyone from beginners to professional athletes to train at. I will definitely be returning on my next Visit to merthyr

Really enjoying the gym since starting, the facilities and classes are great and really helpful for people with less experience. The staff are always welcoming and on hand when needed. Would definitely recommend 👍🏻 Jeanette

Well equipped gym with a good free weight section. Lots of classes available and a good variety and great instructors. Poolside is immaculately clean with a hot sauna and steam room and large swimming pool.

I tried to cancel and they wanted two months of £60. The one in merthyr tydfil has no longer the juccusi, and the steam room is always out of order. I will never go here again. Its rubbish.

I'm a member at everlast gym I know the company don't read these or care so I'm writing to warn people not to waste their money on the place its stinking there's spit on the walls of the steam room the sauna in same state the changing rooms are stinking I wouldn't take my dog in there then there's the gym over crowded not enough equipment they painted walls black that what they call a refit the machines are older than me full of arrogant teenagers groups and I don't think gym carpet seen a hoover for months I'm done just avoid the place s##t hole 🤬 I'm not blaming the staff they are great but their hands are tied they under paid and not appreciated by the higher arcy and when fraser group took over from dw I knew they wouldn't spend any money on their gyms to improve them

Lost my property. Now won't another months payment as I cancelled.
The quality of the pool is very poor loose tyles and a empty jaccuzi, ie only a warm steam room. Staff look like they are on the naughty step.
Avoid at all costs.
