Awful experience with this gym

Awful experience with this gym. I have been trying to cancel my membership for 6+ months and they will not let me leave. I had a 12 month plan which they have automatically rolled over twice. I don't even live near the gym anymore and have a Drs note for why I cannot attend. The staff are unhelpful and I feel trapped here. Worst experience I've ever had with a gym, nothing but stress. I would never use Everlast again.

Monica is the best receptionist

Monica is the best receptionist, always very pleasant and has a great big smile to greet you with. Always extremely helpful.

The gym and the current training conditions are ridiculous. The heat is so extreme and it has been like this for over 2 months now. Even some staff agree that the conditions are not fair.

Awful gym

Probably one of the worst gyms I've been to.
There are not enough olympic bars to have one each for the squat racks and benches. Which means that even if one of the two squat racks is free, you might not be able to use it.
There's no leg curl machine upstairs but there is one in the "Ladies Only" room. Conversely, there is a hip adduction machine upstairs, which (rightly or wrongly) I have literally never seen a man using. There's just something off with how this gym is managed.
It's also the kind of gym where people go for a bit of a social. If you did manage to bag a squat rack, good luck with the rest of your workout if the group of 6 youths who spend more time chatting than doing anything useful have also decided it's leg day. Perhaps splitting the machines up a bit would help alleviate this as then these groups couldn't clump onto all the machines of a given type. But probably not.

I'm also sick of these gyms that have one big room of cardio equipment that's empty most of the time, while the majority of the users are crammed into a tiny resistance/weights room. Not to mention the spinning room. A whole room of equipment for just 1.5 hours' worth of classes a day. I had a teenager put his backside in my face while I was doing dumbbell bench press the other day because he was spotting his mate on a different machine, that's how cramped this place is and how inept some of its users are. It cannot be that hard to run a good, quality gym.

Add onto all these issues that equipment is constantly out of order which, considering it is all Everlast branded, isn't a great sign.
Even the pins that go in the resistance machines somehow go walkabout leading to situations where they're having to be moved between machines, which probably adds to the probability of another one going missing.

I was a member when Dragons first opened at this site and remember being wowed by how swanky the whole gym was. It's unfortunately a shadow of its former self under the management of Everlast. Will probably be leaving for somewhere like Nuffield soon. Worth paying more for a better experience.

Lackluster Experience at Everlast Gym

After my recent visit to Everlast Gym, I am compelled to share my rather underwhelming experience. The gym needs to improve in several areas, making it an average, if not subpar, fitness centre.

Firstly, the overall space and facilities could be better. The limited area significantly hampers the workout experience, as it feels congested and far from spacious. This is a significant drawback for anyone seeking a comfortable and extensive workout environment.

Moreover, the condition of the small swimming pool could have been better. The water appeared murky, almost to the point of being sticky, which raised concerns about hygiene and cleanliness. Such maintenance issues are a big red flag, especially in a health and fitness setting.

General cleanliness was another area where the gym needed to meet expectations. The environment felt unclean and unpleasant, which could be more conducive to a positive fitness experience. This lack of attention to cleanliness is a serious issue that needs addressing.

The spa complex, consisting merely of a sauna and a steam room, does little to elevate the overall rating. While these amenities provide some respite, they don't compensate for the other shortcomings, especially considering the pool's small size.

The changing facilities are also worth mentioning. The cramped and minimal locker rooms and limited changing areas fall far below what one would expect from a modern fitness centre. This lack of basic amenities adds to the overall dissatisfaction.

In conclusion, Everlast Gym is in dire need of a comprehensive overhaul. It's high time to consider either a significant upgrade or a complete transformation to meet the standards of a contemporary gym. Charging customers without addressing these fundamental issues seems unjustified. My visit could have been better, and I hope to see significant improvements.

The rugby gym is terrible

The rugby gym is terrible. The staff are really hard working but unfortunately they have a manager ( Paul ) who is clearly completely out of his depth. You’d be better off putting a cuddly toy in charge as it would by far do a better job. It’s such a shame because the gym has so much potential, but unfortunately it’s run by a complete moron.
