Cambridge Everyman.
Cambridge everyman is pretty new. Been a couple of times now with no issues in terms of booking or the actual films. Friendly staff and comfortable seating imo.
Avoid tea and coffee. Luke warm, small, not strong enough and massively overpriced.
Forgettable
The place has a cute, decorative vibe, but it feels like a poorly executed DIY project—lacking thoughtfulness and coherence. While the color tones are pleasant, the overall design and service fall short. The establishment seems to aim for an upscale experience but misses the mark entirely.
The so-called "VIP" section is particularly disappointing. The seats are incredibly uncomfortable, with no legroom to stretch or relax, and the staff doesn’t seem to accommodate or care about guests' comfort. To make matters worse, a Prosecco bottle nearly fell on a client’s legs during service—hardly what one would expect from a "VIP" experience.
It’s clear that little research was done to meet basic standards, such as the minimum measurements for a movie theater aisle or the needs of paying customers. The place is overpriced for what it offers, and there’s nothing special or remarkable about it. Overall, a frustrating and underwhelming experience.
Appalling customer service
Contacted customer service with a complaint about their shoddy service. Got an automated reply saying their team is looking into it, but then nothing further. Suggest avoiding this chain at all costs.
Avoid gift vouchers as don't work on-line.
My sister very kindly purchased me a gift voucher for Everyman cinemas. I tried to book online a few times but wouldn't take the booking, kept saying there was an error. So I booked with my credit card and wrote to their customer service. No response after a few days so I emailed again and no response. So the voucher is worthless seeing the films sell out and so the only option is to book online or take a trip to the cinema to purchase a ticket and then again to watch the movie. Non existent customer service is my experience. Avoid gift vouchers.
Interesting approach from Management
Went on my own this evening to have a bit of "stressed-out-chronically-ill-working-Mum-needs-to-feel-normal" time. Got some snacks and a milkshake, enjoying my film. Sat solo right at the back- with NOBODY next to or behind me. About an hour in, I briefly looked at my phone to log having taken my medication. Unfortunately for me, that was the moment the Manager/School Principal passed me by with a glass of wine for someone further in front and whisper yelled at me "STOP using your phone during the film"....which was repeated when my stunned face obviously took a minute to register what was happening.
I nearly cried in disbelief, but definitely missed a good 20 mins of the film from the shock of that interaction.
I’ve been an Everyman member for about…
I’ve been an Everyman member for about 10 years. Obviously the prices are sky high, but the cinemas are very stylish and I enjoy some of the films when they find the stones to stay away from the blockbusters. However, the app has never worked properly and the customer service is very flaky. Today, I got a letter with a QR code to scan to refer a friend and get a free ticket. Of course, it didn’t work, and the phone helper - when he eventually understood the question - could not provide me with the correct address and had few cares to give.
The worse experience ever !!
The worse experience ever !!! Shocking !!
I bought a gift voucher for a friend & family birthday which generated an order confirmation number.
It did not generate online the actual gift voucher itself.
Wokingham Cinema refused to use the order number as acceptance.
Sent 3 emails through their website and email address provided in person to resolve. After waiting on a call for 20mins , finally got this resolved
(There is no) Customer Service
Contacted Everyman via email at least six times regarding replacing a lost gift card. Generic autoreply, no actual follow-up, EVER, and this is after first emailing 7 weeks ago.Phone number for customer services rings out forever then just cuts off, so basically impossible to get any support. Awful.
Customer Service do not reply - watch membership dates!
I renewed membership with Everyman after receiving an offer or an extra ticket if I did
Unfortunately, rather than start the renewal from the end of the current membership, Everyman restart it from the day you renew (if you wait til your membership expires, you don't get the 'bonus' offer)
Emailed customer service - got the usual we'll get back to you soon .... nothing .... further email (this time also copying in CEO) ... 'we'll get back to you soon' .... nothing
Clearly zero interest in customer service and satisfaction and the fact that no one from the Executive team is interested either says all you need to know
No Experience Cinema
Visited on Christmas Eve Cambridge to watch the perennial Christmas favourite It's a Wonderful Life.
The ticket brought via their website cost £15.55, on arrival there were two people greeting at the enterance, told to take a seat and someone would be with me shortly, 5 minutes later I approach the bar, and was oddly not able to order a drink to take into the screen, told someone would come and take the order, not sure how as the server there never directed anyone to where I was. 10 minutes later the screening was starting, I was able to walk in with no one checking a ticket at all.
For what is meant to be a boutique experience, is frankly poor, leaving me with no drinks for a 2hr movie.
Given my previous experiences with event cinemas such as Backyard, Everyman has a lot to learn, customer service being the first lesson.
What a shower
What a shower. Useless customer services.Garbage.
Only giving one star as I cannot write a review and give no stars. Never again. If you don’t look after your customers- and until this episode I was a returning customer- you will not survive.Look at Octopus Energy ads and reviews. My advice is avoid this mob completely.
Awful head office customer service
The cinema itself (Bristol) is great and the team at the venue were lovely. But the customer service from the head office is APPALLING. Sadly I left my glasses behind at my seat and couldn’t find a number anywhere to call the venue. There is the option to report lost property on their website, so I included the showing, screen and seat number. That form doesn’t seem to have reached anyone, as four days later I only had the confirmation of the request and had heard nothing. Calls to their main head office number have resulted in promises that someone will call me back within 24 hours but I hear nothing. Call back again, it gets emailed to the cinema and I have to wait another 24hrs, still nothing. This is the fourth day I have had to call and keep chasing, each day being told I will get a callback. Apparently the head office themselves don’t even have an up to date phone number for the Bristol cinema, they have to email and wait. Completely useless.
pathetic customer service
Ordered a gift card for xmas delivery on the 10th Dec
emailed customer services numerous times and spoke to someone on the phone (after 20 mins of the light house family!!!) who assured me he would sort it out and come back to me.
As yet I have zero information on my delivery and zero responses. Useless
Overpriced & too much focus on selling food
I consider that £66+ for two adults and two children to visit the cinema is excessive. However the positives first; the screen and sound quality was good. Now the negatives: On arrival we were welcomed and handed a menu as if we had arrived at a restaurant, & this set the tone for the experience. Far too much focus on selling food & beverage at the expense of the customer experience. I'll not be returning.
Disrupted movie due to fire alarm and customer service team not responding.
No response to customer enquiry in 3 weeks, despite 3 chasers. Went to cinema in Edinburgh, fire alarm went off mid screening and we were all evacuated. Expected Everyman to reach out to those affected to refund or reschedule, but when they didn't I politely contacted them. No response after a week, followed up, still no response a week later and have now followed up a few more times but heard nothing. I question if they even have a customer service team. Paid £37 to go see Wicked and still haven't seen the final hour. I won't be surprised if the company eventually goes bust, as people won't pay that amount to see a film if they get no support when things go wrong. Last year I also had an issue with a gift card not working (said it had no balance) and it took over a month to fix. Extremely disappointing, avoid if you can.
Useless Website and Customer Service…
The website is useless as you cannot cancel tickets.
They also never answer the phone.
Appalling customer service.
Smelt of chip oil
Smelt of chip oil, completely put me off ordering food so popped over to Tesco and got a bag of popcorn! People next to me sent their chips back, the lady saying she had the dregs of the bag of sweet potato fries, didn't hear what the man said.
Awful Service
I've been trying to get in touch with them for a week now with a question about Gift Vouchers.
I've had no response from them.
After reading the reviews concerning their Gift Vouchers I realise it's probably a good thing.
I'll shop elsewhere.
Probably Theatre Vouchers.
First of all cannot order tickets…
First of all cannot order tickets online unless you pay £2.25 for the pleasure. £52.80 for three tickets later and looking forward to having some food during the film. £53 for 2 burgers and chips and a pizza and French fries. The only thing I can say is stay away from the fries, nothing but small shards of batter over salted and not worth the money. Very disappointed and won’t be wasting money on the food again.
Amateur operation
Amateur operation. I’ve emailed them and called them about some lost property lost when I fell in the cinema. I was in screen one of the Stratford cinema in b row. There is an unlit step which is a death trap. I fell and lost a bracelet. It’s been a week since I went and no reply to emails and they dont answer their phones. Steer clear of this place.
