Tried to book to see a film but their website was having issues processing the payment. It said to try again or try later. I retried a couple of times then waited for a bit before trying again. I still had no luck but then discovered that they have reserved 6 lots of payments from my bank account! They have tied up all my available funds. I have direct debits due out which will now get bounced....at a cost! And to top it all, customer services refused to do anything about it (I suspect more because the woman didn't have a clue how to) and said they would be able to book tickets for me but would have to take another payment! I couldn't make another payment because they already have all my funds tied up! I am beyond furious with them! I will never go to one of their cinemas again!

Good but there cheaper and better options

I was a member and watched films a few times a week at King’s Cross the staff were awesome and the manager was a nice guy. Some of the other cinemas like Muswell Hill the staff were not as friendly. Full membership was £600 I seen now it’s £650 that’s unlimited movies any cinema and you can bring someone with you. Movies were £20 at King’s Cross so you got to love movies to get your money’s worth, Is it worth it coming from someone who loves the cinema I’m gonna say no as there is odeon lux where the seats are better and it’s a lot cheaper for membership. Also Everyman only shows some movies so you have to go to other cinemas which is not good enough seeming the cost my odeon shows around 10 to 12 different movies a day where as Everyman King’s Cross shows around 5.

Everyman Harrogate

I visited Everyman Harrogate on Tuesday, the 14th of March 2023. When I arrived I was told by a member of staff that the film had been cancelled due to it only showing in Black and White (fair enough these things happen)

She also claimed I should have received a cancellation email and a phone call, and I obviously received none as I wouldn't have shown up.

She also claimed I would get an automatic refund, which I wasn't convinced of as I also never received the "cancellation email"

I called Everyman customer services today (17 of March) and spoke to Jake, who was extremely helpful. Their customer services wasn't aware of any issues from Harrogate cinema that day, hence why my refund was never processed.

I just believe the girl lied to me on the day of the film to just keep me happy whilst I was there, once I'd left I'm not her problem anymore.

I just want my refund, it's not a lot to ask.

Never again.

All good

Had our first visit to an Everyman cinema last week at Esher, Surrey. Up til now, going to the cinema for us was always at the bottom of the ‘what to do for fun’ list. What a great concept. Staff were excellent…very welcoming. Super easy and quick to get drinks and food served to our cosy sofa…a very chilled and enjoyable evening. (Btw…the movie - Empire of Light - was ok as well!)

I went to Oxted cinema to see an Opera

I went to Oxted cinema to see an Opera. The subtitles were missing and it spoilt the enjoyment. The manager on site explained what had happened and apologised, she also gave us a free ticket for another day. That same evening a cinema employee phoned me to say that they had refunded my ticket. This is great service. Thank you very much. Francine

Do not buy a membership for a year

Do not buy a membership for a year, these people even though it’s not recurring take your money fraudulent from your bank account. They did not renew my membership but took £600 out of my bank account in October, said it would take till 15.12.22 to refund it, still not refunded. Bunch of crooks! Phoned them, still not received. Do not touch this company, just useless.

Present ruined

I bought a Christmas ticket of £50 for my daughter on the 10th Dec.
Was informed at the purchase stage this would arrive before Christmas.
It hasn't. I foresaw the Post Office strike last week so sent an email to Everyman about this 3 days ago, NO ANSWER!
This has really upset me.
WHY hasn't Everyman set up online tickets??? You really are missing a trick here because I have lost all faith in you and won't be a customer again 😠

Zero customer service

Zero customer service. At a complete loss - no answer to phonecalls or emails. No refund/cancellation/credit process for tickets booked incorrectly. Just awful from start to finish. Still trying to get a hold of anyone there but no luck.
Edit: Response received and refund applied so updated from 1 to 3 stars.

We had a wonderful night at the Everyman cinema in Glasgow tonight.
Phillie the shift manager was so welcoming, kind and attentive.
We had a beautiful meal which was delicious.
The cinema itself is definitely my new go to.
It’s so intimate clean and comfortable
it makes the movie. Much better experience.
All other staff were helpful too.

I Did Try

Truly bad management. Very nice young staff trying to function under ill-advised rules: don't let the client receive their order directly in the café/bar; take 20 mins to deliver order (wrong order in my case) to seat in back row in cinema, disturbing vision & seating comfort of other clients while getting there. Also: my order of 3 scoops of ice-cream (£3.75) was served in a heavy chutney/jam rubberseal-lidded jar. Why? The ice-cream scoops were half the size of those you get in, say, Cineworld, & were ridiculously hard to eat from the inappropriate jar (I took the lid off to ease things along). Nothing special about the taste, alas. Finally, given I am somewhat (not more) sensitive to light, I left the film on the grounds that the red/green flashing light to the top right of the screen made it tricky to concentrate on the film. Clearly not the place for me, o FilmHouse where art thou.

Leeds Everyman

Leeds Everyman - We arrived at 14:15 and ordered a large popcorn, an Oreo milkshake and a lemonade from the bar. The cashier told us to go find our seats and and they would bring our food and drink to our seats. 20 minutes went by and the cinema room became full with people, all ordering and receiving their food & drinks. I asked one of the staff members, Shaun, where our order was. He said that he would check where it is and also that 'the Oreo milkshake takes a while to make.' So again, we sat there patiently for another 15 mins as the trailers played and more people had hot food delivered, also a couple next to us (who arrived at 2:30) had an Oreo milkshake delivered straight away which made me feel Shaun lied about the milkshake taking a while to make. This became almost certain when Shaun came back to ask exactly what my order was, which made me very cross, but I didn't show this as I'd brought my younger brother on his first experience of Everyman and didn't want to spoil it for him. We finally got our popcorn and drinks just before the film started, but again we were one of the first lot of people in and the last to be served. From this experience I would not recommend Everyman.

Awful partnership with Harlands Group.

Awful partnership with Harlands Group.

I actually quite like Everyman - it is a good night out and I was a member for a year. However, they are partnered with Harlands Group - check their TrustPilot Reviews.

In common with other people Harlands have been taking money out of my account after my membership ended. I contacted Everyman and got an email from Harlands stating that I needed to pay them £40 to close the account. That is after they had fraudulently used my bank details to re-instate a direct debit and took £90 out of my account without notice.

Harlands are thieves. They care nothing about their reputation and I am shocked that Everyman do business with them.

Don’t buy the gift cards

Similar experience to others with buying a gift voucher. Website says 5 working days so I ordered 2 weeks in advance and it never came (this was before postal strikes). Eventually managed to get a refund from the company - the voucher then came through the door and they sent me the wrong one anyway! I ordered £35 and got £20. It’s a lovely looking voucher and perfect for a gift but unfortunately the service is just terrible. If you can get one from the cinema in person then do that.
