Substandard Facilities: Neglected Issues I Hope Can Be Fixed ?
I’ve used Everyone Active facilities for 38 years (and whatever they were called before). Unfortunately, standards have declined.
Across Everyone Active—especially the two local facilities I use—phone calls often go unanswered, making booking difficult. Once booked, you can only amend or cancel via phone, so if calls aren’t answered, it’s nearly impossible.
While there are some genuinely helpful staff who go out of their way, others have been dismissive or unhelpful, which is disappointing after decades of loyalty.
Cleanliness is poor—unmaintained toilets, sauna, steam room, swimming pool, and courts. The courts are dusty, slippery, and clearly neglected, making it dangerous for users—even with recommended footwear.
Booking issues persist: double bookings, last-minute cancellations, and when we cancel, only credits are given—no refunds.
In 2026, this must change. Customers must be offered refunds or credits on the spot. I expect these issues to be fixed, as this is a serious concern for me and others.
These are my local facilities, and I’ve grown older with them. I genuinely have love for these places. I want to recommend them, but these issues put me off. It’s not easy leaving this negative review—I care about these facilities.
I sincerely request that these issues be addressed so that our community continues to enjoy outstanding facilities. Let’s bring these venues up to 21st-century standards, offering a place we can all be proud of.
Thank you for considering this feedback.
damaged roof on gym area
"Clean, nice atmosphere, good music, enough space to do your exercises whit out to bother anybody else. The only thing is that on the fitness area, above the running machines is liking and possibly one today the fake roof to fall. But I'm sure soon will be fixed."☺️This is one month ago. still not fixed.
The receptionists are useless.
The receptionists are absolutely useless!
How did they even get their jobs?!
No one answers the phone, no one cares.
Cancelling my membership due to them, can't deal with such bad service any longer.
Surprised the owner allows the staff to carry on like this.
Shockingly rude behaviour from a manager – Harrow Leisure Centre
On 16th October 2025, I had a truly disappointing experience at Harrow Leisure Centre. I had booked the sauna and steam room for 3:00 pm (they’re cleaned between 2:00–3:00 pm). When I arrived just before 3:00 pm, the doors were wide open, and the area was still closed off. This meant both rooms had lost their heat and would take around 20 minutes to reach a proper temperature, wasting much of my hour slot.
After asking the pool attendant for help, a manager eventually arrived around 3:10 pm, walking very slowly and looking completely uninterested. He didn’t say a word, made no eye contact, simply shut the doors, and walked away. When I asked if the area was now open (since the gate was still closed), he silently turned, opened it, and walked off again without saying a single word. When I mentioned that the rooms would take another 20 minutes to heat up and that an apology would be appropriate, he ignored me completely and continued walking.
I later found out he was a manager, and other members told me complaints had been made about him before with no apparent response. That is unacceptable.
I have no issues with the other staff, but this manager’s behaviour was extremely rude, arrogant, and disrespectful. It completely ruined my visit, and I sincerely hope senior management at Everyone Active address this properly.

If I could give zero stars
If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would.
I strongly advise anyone considering this facility to stay as far away as possible. My experience was appalling, and while one staff member showed professionalism and empathy, the rest of the team made it an ordeal I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
It started off well. The lady who helped me sign up was fantastic. I don’t recall her name, but I believe she was European. She was warm, informative, and provided outstanding customer service. At that moment, I felt confident in my decision to join. Unfortunately, that was the only positive interaction I had — everything went downhill from there.
On a later visit, I encountered a front-of-house manager — a Black woman with short orange hair — who was incredibly rude from the outset. To make matters worse, she was chewing food and speaking with her mouth full while speaking. This was not only unprofessional but also disrespectful and off-putting.
Another individual, who I believe was a duty manager — short, muscular, and just as unpleasant — was even more shocking. Before coming to “assist” at the desk, he was openly shouting at a young staff member right in front of customers. That kind of aggressive behavior is unacceptable anywhere, let alone in a place that deals with families and children. Basic managerial training would teach that feedback should be delivered in private, not as a public spectacle. His conduct was aggressive, rude, and unprofessional, and in my opinion, he is entirely unfit for any managerial role.
After being treated with such hostility, I asked for a refund for myself and my two children. Both managers — and I use that term loosely — directed me to the app, refused to assist any further, and showed absolutely no willingness to help. The dismissive and robotic way they handled a paying customer was infuriating.
No one was available at the membership desk, so I went home and attempted to use the app and website, which turned out to be completely unhelpful. The next day, I called the centre and tried again. My call was eventually answered by someone who was just as unhelpful. When I asked for the lady who initially signed me up, I was told she wasn’t in and to try again on Sunday.
Thankfully, she was available when I called on Sunday, and once again, she was incredibly professional and kind. She took the time to hear my concerns, apologized on behalf of her colleagues (even though she had no reason to), and walked me through the refund process step by step. She stayed on the phone until my request was confirmed and explained clearly how future enquiries should be made. Her patience, clarity, and support were in stark contrast to the behavior of the others I encountered.
Even with her help, it took another 7–9 days and multiple follow-ups to receive my refund.
To that one helpful staff member: thank you. Your professionalism deserves recognition.
To the rest of the team: shame on you. Your conduct was appalling and reflects a serious lack of training, empathy, and customer service skills. This facility needs to take a hard look at its leadership and front-line staff. Aggression, dismissiveness, and outright rudeness should never be tolerated.
I will never return — and I strongly encourage others to reconsider before signing up.

Serious managemnet chnage need here
Where should I start...
My experience here has been deeply disappointing. James, the manager, completely lacks customer service skills, and unfortunately, his attitude seems to reflect on the whole team. The staff are generally rude and unfriendly. The white lady at the front reception is especially rude to most people, and the man with the long beard at the membership enquiry desk is even worse — unhelpful and disrespectful.
That said, I want to acknowledge the few positive exceptions. There’s a young woman who wears a hijab and usually works in the evenings — she is always friendly and helpful. There was also a European lady who used to work at the membership desk who was kind, and the swimming teachers Peter and Angela are both lovely.
Aside from those individuals, my experience has been frustrating. I’ve even submitted a formal complaint about James, but no one ever responded. My son and I attend swimming lessons here, and communication is awful. When classes are cancelled, no one calls or informs us in advance — we only find out after making the trip and asking at reception.
The swimming classes are often overcrowded — sometimes 10 or 12 kids in a class meant for a maximum of 8. Even the teachers have raised concerns, but nothing changes. When we tried to move to an earlier class (as suggested by the teacher), the man at membership was no help at all. We had to call and sort it ourselves.
Then, at our first lesson in the new class, Angela (who had told us she’d be off) had no cover arranged. We waited 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged the situation. A Black lady at reception tried to help, but after going to check, she never came back, and we eventually saw other parents leaving. No one apologised, and the class — which should’ve ended at 9:30 — was simply cancelled without notice.
While waiting, I witnessed more poor customer service. A man whose access card wasn’t working asked the front desk staff to let him in because he was running late. The same rude receptionist ignored him, and when he commented, “Oh yes, I’m invisible here,” she still didn’t respond.
On top of all this, the facilities are not maintained properly. The toilets are dirty, with tissues often on the floor, and the changing rooms are disgusting.
We pay for this service, and it’s simply not acceptable. I’ve now cancelled my direct debit for both myself and my son. I’m writing this to let others know about my experience and to urge you: please avoid this place until there is proper management and serious improvements.

Difficult sometimes to book class so if they could do more classes on the day so one class is not too full and can book easily. If a class with emergency cancelled 2 hours before should not be charged. Sometimes can be sudden. More counter receptionist in busy period.
Overall love it and making a personal difference to me

It's a great gym, welcoming, clean, friendly and helpful staff, great variety of classes for all levels of fitness.
Good opening times, and not overly busy in the gym on most days.
Would recommend to all ages!

General staff is very helpful and very co-operative. The managers have tendency to victimise and consequently intimidate individual swimmers. Steam & Sauna energy going wasted, it’s good it is better used by the swimmers.

He is very knowledgeable and works according to your needs. I feel more confident in using all the machines there because of Maseer. Thank you!

The only downfall is when there’s a queue for you to get in you wait more than you should do, due to only one person serving behind the desk.

This review is for the soft play area
This review is for the soft play area. It is a large well maintained play area with plenty of equipment for toddlers and babies. The staff member Nutan was welcoming and great at helping children engage with the equipment. Good value compared to other soft play centres too. Highly recommended.

Disgusting and vile environment. Management must been trained by mice because I’ve never witnessed anything like it.
Swimming pool and poolside are so dirty that Kim & Aggy from House Clean Is Your House, refused to work in such a rotten environment. Plague part 2 incoming if this run down place is in business any longer
