Been away for a couple of years. Really pleased to be back. Clean, friendly and lots of variety

In the last five years this club in its wisdom have decided and continued to hire out the 2 squash courts for activities other than what they are designed for, First Aid courses, Childrens Clubs and Life Guard courses, with not a care for those wishing to play squash which the courts are actually for.
The courts are abused, filthy, seldom cleaned and left in the worse possible condition, primarily because they are now used as a money making exercise solely to increase revenue streams, and when questioned over the reasoning they can't justify the decision, implying this is how it is.
The courts are for Squash, that's what they were errected for when the centre was built, the management should be held accountable for mis leading those wishing to play squash, cancelling courts at very short notice and having an affect on Team Squash which is very popular in the Notts area.
It's quite obvious that the current management team who have control have a dysfunctional style of running a club for the public needs and have a deplorable attitude to Squash, complete waste of time!!

The toilets are always filthy or do not flush. baby changing toilet is always locked which isnt great when you hVe a baby who needs a nappy change, i had to lie my baby on the dirty bathroom floor to change her nappy. The soft play is decent but the staff do not look old enough to work in there and do not keep an eye on who is in the toddler play area - i visited for the 10am session today i had 3 kids who looked about 7/8 years old being horrible to my 2 year old telling her she could not use the slide or go in one of the huts in the toddler area, i had to tell these horrible brats they shouldnt be in there and not to be horrible! Really bad experience, could have been avoided if the workers on the softplay reception actually kept an eye on what is happening as should the parents. I will be spending my money at Jimmy Beans soft play in future as the workers actually monitor who is in the baby area

A great experience at Lammas, facilities and staff are excellent. Only downside is administrative issues with freezing my account temporarily, other than that it's a great place to visit.

Attended Sutton in Ashfield Centre today 19th January to play squash on pre booked court. Both me and my opponent had travelled to play. The court temperature was similar to outside, just above freezing. Asked reception to put on court heaters but was told these were out of order and had been for some time. Why then had I not been contacted to be told that the courts were unplayable. The courts are also dirty with various debris including soil. They are often not cleaned.

A great place for all ages to exercise. The gym is very well equipped and clean. I’ve not used the other facilities so can’t comment on them.

Good class and experience.
The booking system via the App has left me unimpressed as I have experienced difficulties and have only been to 1 class and makes me wonder if it is worth the bother!!

My first contact with EE 2 weeks ago.
We’ve just taken our daughter swimming at the pool here. Our daughter is stage 3 can swim 10m with the only thing holding her back from stage 4 is the regular turning of the head sideways for breathing introduced in the crawl. She was being supervised by two adults who are both strong swimmers.
She has been here once before with no incident: she has also swam in the deep end at Everyone Active pools in Hucknall and in Taunton, fully supervised with no incident or interjections from EE lifeguards, even with her yellow hat on.
Whilst swimming today we were told that she needed to be able to swim 25m to be in the deep end. She then tried to swim 25m in a crawl and to be fair completely went to pieces under the pressure. Still, she swam it, stopping twice, once when someone picked up her toys that were on the side. I spoke to a manager about the inconsistency regarding the time she has swam at that pool before. I then asked how is she supposed to practice what she is doing in her lessons at Hucknall if she is not allowed to be in the deep end. At the end of her lessons they usually finish by jumping in the deep end, one by one, and then swimming to the side, all to start gaining confidence in deep water. I was told that in their swimming lessons swimmers would not be allowed into the deep end until stage 5 and that each pool has different rules and expectations for the swimming levels. I pointed out that this should not be the case as they are national levels that should be consistent….. nationally.
There is inconsistency with the rules here. How are young children supposed to understand the rules if they change in a weekly basis? How can I explain to my child that she could jump in at the deep end last night at her lesson but not today at pools owned by the same company?
As well as the inconsistencies regarding rules at Lammas between sessions and the other pools is the statement about swimming levels varying between different pools. How can swimming qualifications be awarded if they are different for each centre? How can these qualifications be recognised by nationally? I will be forwarding my concerns to Swim England.
Ultimately, pools have rules but I’ve yet to find the 25m rule on the website and could not see it displayed anywhere poolside or in the corridor. Was my child safe? Absolutely. She can swim and tread water and was supervised by two competent adult swimmers. The experience left her in tears and has knocked her confidence. She keeps saying “they think my swimming isn’t good”. Thanks for that!
If her swimming coach wasn’t so brilliant I would pull her from lessons with everyone active due to the inconsistency and the way they humiliated my child today
Their response…
hank you for giving us your feedback, here at Lammas Leisure Centre the lifeguards have monthly training, to ensure they prevent any incidents from occuring and ensure full bather safety.
In this situation, the lifeguards have followed the procedure in accordence to our risk assesment. The 25m swim test is for the lifeguards to assess any swimmers who appear weaker in their strokes to ensure they are strong enough to enter the deep end of the pool.
Kind regards
My response…
Here’s how an appropriate response could have looked, bearing in mind the team at Lammas confused a 7 year old by allowing something one week, and do this in their lessons…reduced my daughter to tears, and have shattered her confidence.
This is how it could have looked.
We are so sorry to hear about your experience at Lammas. Unfortunately, swimmers who are stage 5 and below are not allowed to swim in the deep end of this pool. We will however, look into what you have informed us.
We are sorry that your daughter was so upset. In hindsight, we should not have forced her to swim 25 m when she is still in stage 3 as she very likely would not have completed the task and the last thing we would want to do is to affect her confidence.
We will however, look into the points that you have raised and very much hope you come back to Lammas again.
Lammas Leisure Centre This would have been a more appropriate response!
Their response to this….
………………………………….. yep, absolutely nothing.
Daughter will now be changing to a different company for swimming lessons!
