🚨 WARNING

🚨 WARNING: DO NOT BOOK WITH @ExpediaCA 🚨

My niece booked her trip to Amman through Expedia Canada (June 23–Aug 1). In mid-July, she requested to extend her return to Aug 16. Expedia confirmed in writing that the change was made, issued a new itinerary, and gave her reservation codes.

Fast forward to Aug 16: she shows up at the airport—only to be told she has NO booking at all. Stranded. Alone. No way home.

We spent HOURS calling Expedia. Their response?
👉 “It’s the airline’s fault.”
After chasing the airline, we learned the truth: Expedia had cancelled her confirmed ticket and rebooked incorrectly.

By the time this was uncovered, the flight was gone. She missed it. Expedia shrugged and called it a “glitch.” No accountability. No solution. No compassion.

Their so-called “customer service”?

2+ hours of hold time and blame-shifting.

Rude agents who refused to escalate.

A promised “manager callback in 20 minutes” that came 2 hours later at 12:30 AM.

Result: my niece, a student with limited means, was left stranded overseas. We had to buy a new ticket at 3x the cost just to bring her home.

This isn’t just bad service—it’s negligence. Expedia CA failed to honor their own written confirmation, failed to resolve their mistake, and failed a young customer who trusted them.

Families deserve better. Travelers deserve better. Students deserve better.

✈️ @ExpediaCA – You left a young woman stranded because of your “system glitch” and refused to fix the problem you created. That is unacceptable.

BUYER BEWARE. Booked a hotel reservation through Expedia only to turn up and be charged double the nightly rate. Contacted Expedia and there is nothing they can do. Expedia is deceiving people!

BEWARE … if the following rip-off!!!

#EXPEDIA uses deceptive and false advertising on its website! We
booked #Hotel Genovese in France via EXPEDIA. The advertising clearly displays the reservation as “RESERVE NOW PAY LATER”.

We cancelled the very next day HOWEVER @ HOTEL GENOVESE Bonifacio charged our credit card almost $2,000.00 CDN immediately! The hotel finally credited our card, however, the bank’s exchange rates cost us over $100.00 CDN!

VERY DECEIVING … regardless of small print. Other booking websites that advertise PAY LATER are in fact PAY LATER!

Expedia broke written refund promise, accepted unauthorized change”

Expedia notified us that our flight from Cairo to Salalah was changed and offered a full refund if we called — which we did immediately. Instead of processing the refund, the agent delayed our request and later accepted a the change without our consent after their website showed a 1 day layover caused by a glitch in their system.

We lost a full day of our vacation and spent over 10 hours in Muscat Airport, instead of the 2 hours originally scheduled. Oman Air confirmed Expedia only can cancel it Expedia then refused a refund, claiming we accepted the change, which we never did.

Deleting my gold member Expedia account

I am a gold member of Expedia Canada but I am going to delete my account. At 2am I booked an hotel with Expedia Canada.. the site said do you want to book it for now and I said yes. The hotel was non refundable and I knew I needed the hotel so booked it. I waited for the hotel bus at the airport and it did not come. I phoned the hotel and said there was no reservation. They then said it was for the following night. I phoned Expedia customer service and said The hotel would not give a refund under my circumstances. I always used Expedia because I felt confident that Expedia would help with any problem. Well that is no longer the case. They did not even offer a credit. I am out $203.50 and had to get another hotel for $200 not through Expedia.

Was advised by the airline to call…

Was advised by the airline to call expedia to ensure that the tickets for the airline and transfer were issued correctly. Called expedia and was advised it wasn’t and should rebook with them and a refund would be issued later.
The rebooked transfer wasn’t issued correctly, so it would have made no difference by not rebooking but would not have lost money by paying by different currencies. Terrible advice or even worse if it is their business practice.

We were very disappointed

We were very disappointed . I’ve booked with Expedia many times in the past and never had an issue . Our most recent trip to punta cana all inclusive we booked through Expedia . Prior to leaving we received a notice regarding booking our transportation both ways to the airport . Typically this is included when booking an all inclusive . We called Expedia who confirmed this was included in addition to confirming this with the hotel and upon our arrival we had to pay an extra $400 US dollar to transfers between airport and resort . We tried contacting Expedia regarding this issue and their customer service was terrible &did not help even to the guest service agent of the resort who was trying to assist us for return transportation. Hotel agents also told us this has Always been an issue with other travellers who have booked with Expedia. We were unable to reach an agent at Expedia and the customer service agent hung up on us numerous times . Never Ever again with Expedia . Terrible service!!

Absolutely DISGUSTING . Be warned these guys are awful. The policies are awful , We had a friend who was sick and couldn't go , NO Refund or Credit. They keep your money and re sell your seat . West Jet were ready to fully refund but because we went through these 3rd party BS we are hooped. NEVER AGAIN . I WILL MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT THIS. SO ANGRY

TD Expedia: Bait and Switch Pricing

I’ve held a TD Expedia credit card for the past five years, and my experiences with their booking system have been quite frustrating. Each time I attempt to use their website, I have encountered significant discrepancies in pricing. It’s alarming how frequently the recap page reflects price changes ranging from $600 to $800, often without any clear explanation.

They constantly advertise savings with messages like “GOOD NEWS: the price of your package has decreased by xxx.xx dollars, book now.” However, clicking through to the next page usually reveals that the price has ballooned far beyond what was initially advertised. This inconsistency feels misleading at best.

When trying to resolve these issues by contacting customer service, I’m met with vague responses such as “the system isn’t synced” or “the hotels/flights aren’t synced.” This back-and-forth seems like a classic bait-and-switch tactic, leaving me feeling deceived and frustrated.

It isn’t easy to comprehend how such practices are permissible. When purchasing high-ticket items, like cars or clothing, online, we don’t typically face such drastic last-minute price fluctuations. I truly believe that there should be a serious investigation into this brand by the Ontario Travel Industry Council. Transparency and honesty are crucial, especially in the travel industry, and my experience with TD Expedia suggests a concerning lack of both.

If you value straightforward and reliable travel booking, think twice before using TD Expedia. My experiences have led me to explore alternative options in the future.

The worst customer service

The worst customer service. I'll never book another trip/hotel through expedia ever again. I tried changing my reservation dates minutes after booking with no success. I tried calling and all i was told was to contact the hotel. I contacted the hotel and they said I needed to talk to expedia. I tried emailing. Still no response. I tried chat on the app.Still the same run around. Expedia has the worst customer service!

Worst Travel Website Ever!!!

This has to be the worst travel website, I've come across.
It's further proof that almost everyone on here has given a rating of 1 star (including my rating).
It's been almost 2 weeks since I've requested on getting my refund I've purchased flying with Air France. All they tell me is they can't reach the airlines. This isn't small change. It's $3,583.03 CAD.
Then they tell me, they have reached out to them and escalated this matter and will get back to me.
Once they reached they airline, they tell me to wait again. Absolutely garbage service.

Now I have to wait until next Tuesday to see if I even get my refund.

There is a reason why. this site has bad ratings and nothing is being done to improve their service.
They are not embarrassed at all.
Their best response is "I'm sorry you feel that way."
Definitely not recommending them to anyone.
Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

If you want to have a bad flight book through this Expedia . booked a flight with them to discover that I have my connection flight start boarding 10 mints after arrival, landed in one end of Amsterdam-airport the connection flight at the other end ,, I missed my flight. Tried to call Expedia for 1hr. No luck. After 3 hrs I was able to reach Canada air and booked me on the next flight..
today is the return trip.. I have to 1st check-in at Istanbul airport, then again collect my baggage’s in Geneva airport,and do a 2nd check-in !! Can you imagine check in in every airport.. when called Expedia they say this is a condition in your returned flight!! It has been the worst flight ever in my life. Never again using Expedia,, my account will be deactivated after this trip.

Excellent cstomer care

We had booked 2 rooms at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel on the Saturday of the May long weekend.
The night before our arrival, my husband experienced a coronary emergency and was admitted to hospital.
I called Expedia the morning of our reservation and explained the situation. Within 10 minutes, our Expedia customer care rep (Jazz) had secured a full refund for the rooms. The credits appeared on our credit card that same day. Needless to say, we were over the moon and very grateful for the refund.

Poorest service ever leading to customer frustration and fraud

I booked three vacation packages for family. Two confirmation received and one is missing in the online account.Message them and were told to call hotel directly with phone number. The number is not useable as the hotel reservation does not pick up the call for weeks. Finally dial online button it wire to a 1800 scam number telling certain payments are missing.
Will never book with Expedia again after reflecting the whole situation as I think it is all connected. First missing confirmation then not confirming booking with suggestion a number never answering call. At last direct to a scammer phone while scammer has all information I did not even tell them including all packages booking numbers, all travellers numbers, cost etc. btw, the Expedia confirmed that one confirmation is missing in the online accounts and have robot answering to call hotel for confirmation. I am wondering why they cannot have someone confirming the booking and open the door for future scamming?
