Absolute frauds

Absolute frauds. Just ripped me off 30 bucks after a 4 hour run around for a flight change. Literally hung up pn the phone and dropped.out online and waited.for the flight to change price on their site when I explained the airline (Virgin) had confirmed no change in cost and a Covid free change policy. Never ever use this agent. Disgusting fraudies

Refused to refund / re-credit coupons

Due to Covid and being in Stage 4 Lockdown in Melbourne with border restrictions last year, we had to cancel our travel plans twice. We had used 3 coupons we had on our account to book these travel plans. They have refused to reissue 2 of the coupons and would only refund us on 1, meaning we have lost $160! They refuse to escalate the case any higher than Tier 3. I wasn’t allowed to speak to a Manager or anyone Higher Up. I was basically told too bad and the previous 2 staff members who told me that all 3 coupons could be reinstated in the new year, were incorrect. Disgusting customer service! I will never book through them again after being a customer for years.

heartbreaking

0 stars would be more appropriate than 1 star. Waiting on hold for hours, staff actually hang up on me mid-call saying "goodbye, have a nice night" without helping, sometimes they say I'll receive a call back from a manager since I've been trying to speak to one - no one ever calls. it's like they're trying to make it as hard as possible to use flight credits. It's quite heartbreaking. I'm losing faith in the travel industry and humanity in general :(

We honestly couldn't fault Expedia

We honestly couldn't fault Expedia. We had about 12 hotel bookings in the North East USA that we had to cancel due to covid. Expedia emailed us a list of the bookings and offered 110% credit or a full refund on each booking even though our bokings were 'non-refundable'. Given it's unlikely we'll be travelling to the US any time soon, we took full refunds.

Every other cost component of our trip was difficult to retrieve through various travel related suppliers and airlines, but Expedia were the only company that were pro-active and made first contact with us.

It was so nice to deal with a company who was prepared to look ahead for longevity in these tumultuous times and we will definitely without hesitation use them again for all our hotel bookings when the US boarders are open to Australia.

Faulty towers of Norfolk island

We spent a week in Norfolk Island and chose the Panorama Seaside Apartments because the images on the internet..

The room we selected was no doubtly the best view you could have of Kingston, the penal colony and the island called Neapean close to Norfolk.

The apartment was spacious but very much run down and clean. At the same time like the rest of the building very much run down and need of repairs and upgrading.

For example the railings at roadside at the second level of the building had missing pairings some of these gaps were 1 metre high and 1/2 metre wide. If I had small children I wouldnt stay at these apartments because a small children could easily fall 4 metres to the ground.

The carpets in the apartments are worn and emit a mild but stagment smell. The furniture is outdated and the cooking equipment needs to be replaced particularly the stoves.
The fly screens were manufactured incorrectly and there is a 10mm gap between the flyscreen and the window frame which lets all the insects into the apartment. So at sunset, you have to close all the windows.

None of the apartments have air conditioning but we wouldn't use the fan in the bedroom because it was covered in thick dust.

There is no internet in this part of the island so you have to drive into town to find a hotspot.

We had booked in for 7 days but left after 4 days because my wife started to get bird lice bites. She called me into the room that there was an infestation occurring and there were now hunders crawling over the walls, the clock radio and we saw plenty on the bed.

We booked into another place in town and requested 3 days refund which the owner gave us.

It is not a place I would recommend. The advise from the Norkfolk Island Tourist Office where we booked the new apartments advised that it had received many complaints about the Panorama Seaside Apartments.

Purchased flight to the states

Purchased flight to the states. Covid hit. Requested to be refunded as flights were cancelled. Expedia agreed, but said it would take 8-12 weeks! (which is an absolute joke) This was in min June. It is now mid November and still no refund. Each time I have called Expedia, they have told me I would be paid shortly. Which is clearly a deceiving tactic they use to get you off the phone to them.

Refunds due to Covid 19 cancellations

I've attempted to obtain a refund for an airfare cancelled due to Covid 19 for 6 months. Expedia has been dreadful. The European travel conventions clearly provides for a full refund in such circumstances but Expedia would not budge. The answer is to request a charge back through your credit card company. Refund in FULL now received.

Customer dont care policy.

Do NOT, book via Expedia. Absolutely no interest in returning any hotel bookings, hiding behind Covid 19.. They couldn't even be botherd to email the hotel on our behalf. Once they recived your money, they think its there's..
We booked 7xhotels with booking.com, and got ALL refunded..
Expedia, never again, you loose in the long run, PATHETIC excuse for a company.

Don't book with Expedia.

Don't book with Expedia.
They don't refund.
And overcharged hotel accommodation.
We booked a package to Israel and due to Covi19 we can't go.
And Expedia doesn't give me the full refund. I called the hotel booked in Jerusalem and the manager said that Expedia paid them much much less. I paid for 9days accommodation $1531dollars. If some one have a issue with Expedia please contact me as I have contacted the media; and Ombudsman.

Not a credible company to book with

Due to COVID-19, I was unable to travel overseas due to travel ban restrictions. I booked a non-refundable accommodation back in 2019, the accommodation stay date was in June. Expedia claims they have their own policies and it states on their website that I am eligible for a full refund or voucher. I requested a full refund. I could not cancel due to the website glitch so I requested Expedia company to cancel on my behalf. I have attempted to contact the hotel myself but it has been closed since April and still are currently closed. The Expedia agents confirmed the company still currently has my money as the transaction to the hotel has not been processed (due to the hotel being closed). It’s been an ongoing 4 months of trying to get my full refund contacting via email and calls. They continuously delay and tell me to wait further and they will get back to me - this is a lie and again, I have to contact them to follow this up. Added photos of Expedia’s claims/policies for my current situation. But Expedia is unreliable and not credible. Do not book with this company.

RUBBISH!! don't waste your time

Booked flights from Sydney to Bali prior the CV19 crisis - I've had the biggest nightmare trying contacting Expedia for a refund or even an explanation on how to make use of the money I paid. I've waited on the phone for over 6 hours without a clear response being given to me, the call bounced from person to person on the other end, they made me repeat endless times the flight details and dragged me around to conclude they were going to send me an email that obviously never cam through. They refused giving me a refund even though I explained I desperately needed the money as I had lost my job.
Today (2 moths later) I gave it one more go as local borders are re-opening within the country and we want to travel locally... guess what? again there are more excuses and apparently I am not allowed to re-rout and I am only allowed to go to my original destination, Bali, even though the borders for all Countries are shut for an indefinite amount of time.
Please do yourself a favour and DON'T BOOK WITH EXPEDIA, save the headache and the cash!!

Abysmal

It was meant to take up to 30 days for refunds to be processed, yet I'm still waiting after nearly two months. Each time I ring them for an update, I'm told to "wait another 4-5 days". I wait, but nothing ever happens and they just keep feeding me the same line. I had been an Expedia customer for eight years, but I'll be boycotting them and their subsidiaries in the future. I no longer trust them and do not believe they deserve a single cent. I suggest people either book directly with hotels/airlines, or find a third-party website that actually appreciates their customers and provides competent service.

Call after call after call

Call after call after call.

And every time, I'm told that I'll either get a call back or an email. Nothing. "You'll get a call in 7 days..." nothing. "You're get an email confirmation in 10 days"... nothing. Again "You'll get a call in 7 days..." Expedia. Delay tactics. Please stop giving me false information.

Expedia the ultimate scam artists

Lost a hotel booking of $355 due to covid-19. My itinerary clearly stated that the amount had been refunded by hotel. Expedia then sent me an e-mail a few weeks later saying that it had been turned into a coupon to be used at the same hotel within 12 months. Currently there are no flights around the world and are not looking to be for months maybe longer. On top of that the 12 month coupon started from the issue date over a month ago, after checking the hotel website I found out that they are still closed so I'm not even getting a 12 month coupon. First time I called to change ask for a refund or at least a voucher I could use on expedia for something else I kept getting political answers and someone stating the terms and conditions over and over again. When I tried to escalate to someone above them they told me I would receive a call back in an hour. A week later and still no call so I called again just to get the same response with no willingness to help and was told to 'kindly understand' When asked to be escalated to someone higher I was told there was no one. DO NOT USE EXPEDIA

ExpediaNZ will not refund a legitimate…

ExpediaNZ will not refund a legitimate claim of NZ$776 to my friend now home in Wales after being in lockdown in NZ for several weeks. She filled in the form saying a refund was required, not a voucher. All they offered was a voucher which of course is useless. Don't go near Expedia. That is theft.

Very Bad experience

Very Bad experience. 6 weeks now. I haven't received my refund for hotel. They lie on phone. Their rep said that he has sent a bank transfer detail on my email
But haven't received any email from them. When I told that no email from them , Rep said that you must have blocked us for sending email. How stupid. I don't think their intentions are to refund. So many complaints and bad comments on their twitter and Facebook.
Let's sue them.

Horrible customer service

My flight home was cancelled, i received no notification at all, through text or email or phone. When i called in, the automated message said 2 min wait time, i waited 35 minutes. because the airline cancelled, she requested a refund, which would be processed in 7 days, and will take 8 weeks to receive. Her advise was to go to the airport and see if there are any last minute flights.

NEVER use Expedia

NEVER use Expedia, Hotels.com or any of the other Expedia owned 3rd party booking companies.

I'm booked at 130 Queensgate Hotel, South Kensington, London from 9th May for 4 nights at the costs of $1453. I made the booking in January. Since then with Covid-19 my airline has cancelled my flights to the UK.

I've been unable to contact Hotels.com and their website is useless.

After using Hotels.com for many years this is absolutely the last time. In future I will get the price from their app/website and then contact the hotel directly.
