Expedia and Agoda are closely related - poor conduct!

Expedia and Agoda are closely related! If you experienced poor conduct from Agoda, you can bet the same goes with Expedia! It was not clear to me that booking via Agoda would go through Expedia as well! Tax and fees are not clear in either company. They must clarify what taxes we are paying and why would we book a room in a country where "tax and fee" are mentioned but required to pay more taxes?! We are fooled by misinformation that booking via these sites are "cheaper" than going direct to hotel sites! Professional companies will provide better transparency on what type of taxes patrons are billed during their booking. Explanation about tax on room is just nonsense! If we book a hotel room in the country of visit then the tax on room would have the country taxes! Why should there be any extra! Why would tourist tax to be paid to country tax authority be left out when booking hotel?! Sounds to me that booking sites have mishandled taxes. We as patron should not be charged for tax where the booking sites operate in! We should only be charged for tax where the hotel room is located and that meant relevant tax as tourist.

I tried to book a flight via…

I tried to book a flight via expedia.se.
The booking confirmation never comes, in the last step after I paid, it said "We are sorry
Unfortunately, your flight to Ho Chi Minh City is no longer available. Click here to search again .".
When I checked my bank account, the money has been withdrawn because I used a Debit MasterCard.
When I tried to contact Expedia via phone number: 0851761378 to get the refund, the phone automatically asked for a booking number while I have no booking number.
This is really bad, I might need to file a case to consumerverket.se in order to ger back money about 1496SEK

Worst company I've ever had the mistake…

Worst company I've ever had the mistake of making a flight with ... I'm so angry their virtual chat system is so bad slow and no accountability. Saying can i have 3-5 minutes to read your policy then taking 15-20 minutes their reading of docs is over
the top.. no excuse for there bad behavior Expedia look to profit from mistakes and profit for your need to have time to recover from the stress of live ..that's when this company will taken advantage and generate stress and profit from you with their small print and their lies.

It was not possible to leave 0stars…

For some reason Expedia had not connected our booking to our flights.. the airlines could se our trip but as Expedia had not provided all information we were not allowed to board..
Not the funnies thing to find out when you are at the airport and try to check in.

Expedia refused to take any blame. And was not able to give us any new flight (not even the day after). Luckily Lufthansa stepped in and helped us as we flew thru them.
Lufthansa also tolded us this was not the first time the had experienced this from Expedia…

We were because of this needed to book a hotel and arrive home 15hours later than planned.

I booked a car

I booked a car, selecting the option to pick the car up in the terminal. The car was not in the terminal, it was far away with a shuttle bus I had to wait for more than 20 minutes for. With kids, this is a nightmare caused by lies upon lies. Never again.

Can not recommend!

App crashed during booking, but the specified amount was with drawn and generated a blank booking for said hotell. Got to the hotell and everything in the boking is wrong, calls the helpdesk since the hotell cant do anything with it, takes the Expedia agent 52 minutes to "sort it" that meaning he booked the most expensive singel room they had and slappt every extra fee he could think of on top of it. And every since I have been getting strange calls from all over the globe. Seriously don´t use this junk site.

Better than other websites

I made the huge mistake of booking an apartment in -Barcelona via VRBO (part of Expedia group). Terrible experience with a customer service that made me spend 3 hours on the phone for nothing.

Fortunately, this was not expedia.se case.

Friendly staff that succeeded to refund me the whole amount, plus the extra money that I had paid for the new accommodation... even if VRBO is a different company.

Everything took time, but I could see the money in my bank account yesterday.

Har bokat hotel i Maldiverna via Travellink, men Conrad hotels i Maldiverna meddelar att de aldrig fick pengarna då pengarna är kvar hos Expedia. Travellink skyller på att Expedia inte återbetalar beloppet till dem så de kan inte göra något åt saken. Nu har det gått 7 månader och ingenting händer. Bokningsnumret hos Travellink är 4745420950
Det finns även bevis på att Expedia håller i pengarna i onödan :(

Booked a hotel l in Rome through Expedia and had to cancel. Was told the hotel pay me back which they didn’t.Was in contact with Expedia through emails and telephone with several people at their customer service for hours. Then the hotel Domus Corso del Spagna emailed they would pay me back but instead they charged me again! Got no help from Expedia about this!

Misleading

We booked a stay at Ystad Saltsjöbad through expedia and ended up paying a significant overprice compared to list prices at the hotel. Conditions were very unclear on the booking site, so we called expedia to check what was included, and they confirmed the package.

Upon arrival we realized that dinner was not included!

Bottomline is that we ended up paying 3700,- at expedia for something the hotel lists at 3100, and expedia has been willing to do nothing about it (since the “price guarantee” should we waived at least 48 hours before arrival!)

We do not recommend anyone to use this company, as it seems to rely on fraud and misleading information. Should definitely have checked Trustpilot before booking

I will never consider you for any coming up vacations

Talking about customer service one of the worst here is my experience so I called looking to speak to a supervisor so this lady first started here conversation by name Janet and when she knew that I was extremely upset she was ending the phone call as name Betsy I promise this is the absolute truth ..so after addressing my complaint to her about the inconvenience of the multiple vouchers that I booked through them her first respond was (you need to contact the third party sir we have nothing to do with this) so at this point I was extremely aggravated here are the items that I booked with expedia : 1- flight which was about right but that's normal airlines don't mess around 2-rental car and what you see for rates are no where close to reality oh and their $9 insurance isn't something to count on based on fox rental car claims plus I wanted a sports car and got a Chrysler 300 instead but I don't know who to blame on this one 3-1hr Yamaha wave runner on things to do and here on that one I had to take my rental car drive up 4.5 miles from where I was staying at then park my rental at a public garage for $40 then walk up to this place called jet ski water sports rentals and show my voucher ..the first thing the guy says to me (WE DON'T ACCEPT VOUCHERS FROM EXPEDIA BECAUSE THEY DON'T PAY US) once I heard that I took off immediately got back in my car and drove back to the hotel 4- miami party pass another scam ..once I arrive to the hotel I was suppose to call them to have my pass sent to the hotel guess what I booked 4 nights for this pass so called to get it and they are only opened from. Wednesday up until Sunday from 2pm til 9pm and I arrived Sunday around 5pm called them around 6:30 pm to let them know I like to claim my pass and no one was there to answer the phone specially that I followed all instructions to redeem my voucher by calling 48 hours after booking through expedia ! 5- hotel number 2 which I thought after going through all of this that expedia isn't going leave me dissatisfied well guess what I thought wrong ..so I wanted to cancel my 2nd hotel reservation only because of the hotel I was staying at offered me a really good rate and I knew that my cancelation was late prior to date to avoid any additional fees but come on after all of what I went thru you people don't think I deserve a break ..they and the proof I called to explain so this rude lady talks to me on the phone oh and she was a supervisor as well and I tried to tell her what I went through and her answer was (what does this has to do with not charging late cancelation fees ) right there I knew I wasn't getting any special treatment for what been through!! I know that my review isn't going to go too far but I figured I share my experience to help save other people from going wasting their money with expedia.

Bad when traveling abroad

We booked our hotels in USA through Expedia. This just meant that when we wanted to change our reservation, we HAD to do it through Expedia. BUT the Danish Expedia web side was down and you could not call them up because of the time difference. The Danish Expedia and the other countries’ Expedia do not communicate, so there were no possible ways to change our reservation at the correct time.
Other than that their system also sucks. When you book a hotel, you get an email from Expedia showing the dates and such, but to get your reservation number you have to view a travel plan on their own web side.

Do not use this when traveling abroad!
