Great local Garage

I recently had 4 new tyres fitted and an MOT. The level of service that I received from Mark, Russell and their team was exceptional. Friendly and efficient from my first contact with them, they stand head and shoulders above any local garage that I have used in the past 50 years or so.They are a credit to F1. I shall use them for all my future vehicle maintenance and repairs and will strongly recommend them to my family and friends.Thanks.

Dodgy

I first went to the garage based in Burgess Hill as who changed my front tyres advised me that I needed a wheel alignment and he sent me to Formula One as his nephew is the manager there. I kind of trusted him. I had few works done there in July including a full service. After the full service nothing was advices to do, but I wanted to make sure that if I'd would have done the MOT with them having done the full service if they think I'd pass it. Manager said they will not be any problem.
Keeping in mind that I use my car rarely (once or twice a week), in October I went back to the garage to have my MOT done and I failed. I was shocked and asked the reason why I failed. Apparently the suspension arm was EXCESSIVELY WORN OFF, and I asked him why he did not advise me that when I brought my car twice to have jobs done. He said that from July to October many things can happen. If you use the car once a week how can a suspension arm being excessively damaged in 2 months? However I left extremely disappointed feeling as ''an other woman who can be tricked as I don't understand anything about cars''. The other reasons why I failed was for things they meant to repair/replace during the full service.
I went to another garage to replace the suspension and retest my car for MOT. When I went to collect my car this garage has found additional reasons why my MOT failed the second time, again things that should have been sorted out or advised me during the full service. This garage quoted me more than £700 on top of the £300 I spent already.
I have saved money to sort out my car before the MOT due by October, and I though that after I changed the tyres, done full service and repaired what they advised me to I'd have been fine, but now I literally cannot drive as I cannot afford in 2 weeks to spend more than £1000 as I am not a millionaire, so thank you so much!

UPDATE: Of course they justified their bad service which is not surprising

New front pair of tyres - perfect service

New front pair of tyres.
Went to Formula 1 Auto-centres for new tyres, Burgess Hill.
They politely explained process and showed me what numbers tyres to search on website and pick a fitting slot.
At home ordered exactly the same tyres as my cars main dealer quoted me, which Formula one auto-centres confirmed. Was 1/2 the price.
Selected extra balancing too.
Turned up for fitting, nice polite, helpful chap behind desk confirmed everything was good. He quoted 30mins for fitting and balancing, was exactly 30mins.
Shall use again for myself and my wife's car too.

Proberly won't return here

Staff pretty friendly at the centre although upon collecting the car they stopped it outside the door and just shoved the key in my hand. I had paid for the precise wheel balance and also a wheel alignment I don't think neither were done. On reflection I proberly won't go back to this branch again I also think there was damage done to my wheel nuts but no way to prove that.

A terrible experience !!

Placed order online for four tyres to be fitted to my 2014 Fiesta. Arrived for the appointment and car was taken straight in and tyres fitted extremely quickly, lots of electric driver ratchet noise etc, all good so far. There was no discussion after tyres were fitted, no "check your wheel nuts after a few miles" etc just, "Cars outside, ready" . On way home the car felt "floaty" so I checked tyre pressures. Sure enough 3 were at 36psi and 1 was 29psi by my digital gauge. There's no excuse for this, the correct pressures are shown on the door pillar as on most cars and a garage specialising in tyre fitting should surely get this critical safety issue right ? 33 front 26 rear for this car.
I also noted the balance weights have been stuck onto the inside wheel rims straight onto the brake dusty surface with no signs of an attempt to clean the area first, wonder how long they will stay on for ?
Whilst I was correcting the tyre pressures, I noticed the offside plastic sill stone guard on the front of the rear wheel arch was hanging off, held by one clip. I pushed it back into place and checked the nearside and this one had been snapped off completely ! Got on the phone to the F1 center to inform them of the damage and was told that they often "damage cars when they drive them into the workshop because of the steep ramp going in" and if I took the car back they would check out the damage and order the part in from Fords. Another unnecessary 40 minute round trip!
This is when I checked out the reviews for F1 Auto which led me to check the wheel nuts.
I do most of my own car maintenance, servicing, brakes etc so I know how tight a wheel nut should be. I have a 450mm long torque wrench but had to put an extension sleeve on it to loosen the wheel nuts. They were so over tightened you would never have got them off with a standard wheel brace ! I put them back at the correct torque.
There's no way I will hand my car over to this F1 depot again, a professional garage would never allow a car to leave the worksop in this unsafe condition and would surely have known about the damage caused either by a trolly jack or the ramp into the workshop.
Still waiting to here from them about the replacement parts !
F1 auto invoice number and garage location supplied.

Burgess Hill garage

Burgess Hill garage
I don’t recommend anyone this garage as they do not have qualified technicians you could trust. I even warn you to think twice to bring your car to them. Manager is a lier and area manager never bothered to sort the problem. Careline is useless, they don’t do their job as well. I brought my healthy car for MOT and Service. MOT passed straight away and they managed to break my car while doing the service. When I came to collect the car at the end of the day, it was in messy condition and I was told they cannot start. They were very nervous and couldn’t explain what they have done. Next day (Sun evening), they asked to collect the car but they gave back with engine light on and said it will come off while driving. I took the car for independent inspection at another garage. So basically Formula One Autocentre damaged the wire while replacing air filter. The end could be fatal. Service was not finished, for air filter they used not genuine brand. Service was not loaded into the system. I want to get everyone’s attention who bring good brand cars- do not bring, they are not competent to do their job. Question whether they do properly service even for cheaper brand cars, if they do -they use non genuine parts. They should disclose this fact to the customers and ask whether you don’t mind. But the worst, you bring a healthy car and they manage to break. This is disgusting customer service and cannot afford to admit their mistakes by giving different lies every time.
