This service was shocking from start to finish,I book four tyres for my X5 from tyresavings to be fitted by formula one on Saturday ,the tyres arrived on the Friday and told them I'd be back on Saturday morning to have them fitted.when I arrived I drove round the back and they brought my car in .the removed to two front wheel and removed the old tyres I I hadn't been looking out the window they were trying to fit the rear tyres on the front rims which were the 315 35 20 instead of the 275 40 20 .the manager went out and shouted at them you are making us look like fools or words to that affect the apologise to me saying his tyre guy had let him down .so who were the two guys fitting tyres to my car if they hadn't been trained.this should not be happening!! .After they had fitted the tyres and I paid I notice 3 of my rims were damaged which I reported to the manager who said my guys didn't do that ,but if they hadn't been trained how the hell would her know .I didn't want to argue with him so walked away .two miles up the road it didn't feel right so I checked the tyres pressures on the screen only to find they put the rear pressures in the front tyres and fronts In the rear.I had to take it back to have this sorted and the lad that fitted them said its correct I showed him the label on the door post which proved me right .never again will I come here and want to know who is paying to have my rims to be repaired.

This was the first time I had used Formula One for my MOT. The staff were welcoming and said it would take 1 hour to complete. They were true to their word and I left knowing I would return next year.

In May 2023 we had a problem with the power steering on our vehicle which was making a lot of noise when turning the steering wheel.
Someone looked at it for us and said the pulley is loose and required attention, but they were not able to fit us in for a fortnight.
As we hoped to get the vehicle fixed sooner my wife rang Formula one garage, Ashbourne Road, Derby and explained the situation to them, and booked the vehicle in for us.
When the vehicle was with the garage, they called us to say how much it would cost and we agreed as the vehicle is used every day and needed for work.
We then received another call saying we don’t know how much you were quoted but it would be more expensive, so we agreed again as we just wanted the vehicle back.
We were told it would be ready at the end of the day but received another phone call saying Ford had delivered the wrong part so it would be ready the following day.
I called later the following day and was told it would be another couple of hours. We later received a call from them saying it was ready to pick up and the cost was £395 but the noise was still there, and the problem had not been solved.
A bit puzzled I asked why the vehicle wasn’t fixed and was told the problem is with the pump, so I asked if they could sort it out for us and was told they don’t work on hydraulic systems so we would have to pick it up and take it.
We went to collect the vehicle and my wife was upset, again she asked why it hadn’t been repaired.
We were told that my wife had diagnosed the fault and they had repaired what she had asked for.
Amazed we said, “you are the mechanics why didn’t you let us know when replacing the pulley and belt”, and we were told because we hadn’t asked for a diagnostic and my wife had told them what was wrong with it, so that is what they fixed, and they don’t work on hydraulic systems anyway.
We took it to a reputable garage and had it repaired the same day.
This is an honest and true record of what happened, so you make your own minds up who was right and who was wrong, but I can say it’s the last time we ever visit Formula one again and would never recommend them to anyone.

Had my air con cleaned and re-gassed on my fiesta and to be honest I can't fault the guys, very friendly and professional

From the moment i walked into here the team were so helpful , professional and friendly. After having an awful experience with another tyre company - the guys at Formula 1 Autocentres were exceptional .
Repair sorted very quickly and i was on my way without fuss

Had some work done by these boys, part of this work was they changed the rocker cover gasket. I called them the next day to say I’d experienced some worrying issues with the car stalling at traffic lights and on hills and jittering after visiting them and they assured me it was nothing to do with them but when my check engine light came on yesterday I had a good inspection to see what the issue could be based on the obd reading and saw there is a hefty part of the rocker cover gasket that wasn’t put in properly, which is the likely cause of the oil leak they mentioned to look out for and the likely cause of the experience I had after the work was attempted by them.
I have a photo of you want to see.
I trusted them to do a better job than me and now I’m going to have to try it myself because I don’t trust garages after using these guys. Actually can’t believe they let me drive round this long when they knew they did half a job. Cars are dangerous.

popped in today to the Derby branch, my first time here having an MOT, as a young female who doesn’t have much knowledge i have been scammed by multiple places but not here! the service was brilliant, everyone was super friendly and down to earth and even bought me a drink whilst i waited for my MOT, i passed which was great news and they explained my advisories, fantastic pricing and offers which are affordable! will defo be back and recommending to all family and friends

Never been here before and was highly recommended by my son.
Top service, genuine, honest and trustworthy people. Nathan the manager and his team are brilliant. They found issues with my car which were associated with a different garage that had messed up and showed me the problem straight away. They asked if I wanted to have it done and I was confident that they asked and showed me the issue. They rectified it immediately and I felt at ease and safe knowing they did this. I would highly recommend Formula One Autocentres, Derby for any car requirements.

If I’m completely honest I wouldn’t even give it one star!

I am not necessarily blaming the staff at the Derby Ashbourne road branch it’s the systems. I went online this morning and booked for a tyre changing, it stated same day so I was over the moon as I needed it done asap. I turned up at the shop for it to be closed after it allowed me to book and pay for the tyre. It does advise on the internet that the shop is open so I didn’t think to ring and check.

I’m honestly so disappointed as I have waisted a trip to the store.

I have just made a detailed complaint and emailed them. Basically this place use to be really good.
Last year i had a bad experience. After the mot and service my car was given back to me with engine management light on ! After long arguments they fixed my car said sorry new staff etc. This year same issue i recorded purposely the cars dashboard whilst the car was running in front of the garage before i gave the car to the derby garage. To proof no lights are on just as a precaution. And guess what after the mot and servicing miraculously engine malfunction light came up.
I went back to them and they told me Nothing to do with them go somewhere else and the showed me the door. Of course the already they took my 270 pounds for service and mot .Last year it was 700 pounds. They had my money now is time to get rid off me.
i just wanted give them another chance maybe last year was a genuine mistake NOPE same again!!!!
Stay away if you don't want to be robbed !!!!!

I was in a fix today: just before Christmas, a long list of tasks to do, and I'd not even competed my first trip (taking the daughter-in-law to work) when I got a puncture. I contacted my local Formula One Autocentre, in Derby, pleading for help and they were able to sort me out within the hour. Top service ... Big relief! Well done guys.

I called in without an appointment to ask if they could fit a new battery to my wife's Mini after being let down by Halfords.
I was dealt with by Nathan and Emma who couldn't have been more helpful. Within 30 minutes it was fitted for a competitive price. The reason I bought from them was solely the fabulous customer service given by Nathan and Emma. Exceptional.

Appalling service. Wrong date booked for my MOT by the garage so wasted journey and told to return the following day. Then called on the morning of my MOT to be told the 'machine' has broken so MOT cannot be done. Asked when I can be rebooked and told no sooner than 2 weeks!! Would NOT recommend.

I wanted to give a special mention the team, and especially Nick, at Formula One in Ashbourne Rd, Derby.

My BMW's engine had been running rough and missing or cutting out for some time. I had tried to get it fixed at a Formula One in Stevenage, near to where we live, without any success. Since we are staying up in the Derby area for a while, I phoned the Ashbourne Rd centre to explain the situation. Nick was super friendly and helpful and asked me to drop the car in.

It turned out to be a difficult issue to diagnose, and Nick wouldn't let things lie until he (and his team) figured out what the underlying causes were! This took a few days and he even called me in to show me what they'd found and explain what needed to be done. Communication throughout from him was excellent.

On top of all that, he only charged me for fitting a new catalytic converter (one of the fixes needed) and not for all the effort he and the team put into finding and sorting the underlying problems, as he said that the problem should have been sorted out previously by the other team.

I thoroughly recommend taking your car there for servicing or repairs if you live in the area!
