Alistair and the Far and Wild team gave us excellent service from our initial telephone call with him through to the end of our holiday experience. He listened to our wish list and then suggested an itinerary, including a couple of walking safari's which we would not have thought of ourselves, and made our dream 'bucket list' safari holiday to Tanzania happen in spite of Covid, which meant lots of rescheduling!

Throughout the process he was reassuring and provided a very personal service. We have experienced the 'once in a lifetime' holiday that we hoped for and it proved not only to be the holiday of our expectations, but far beyond it! We have already recommended the company to some friends and would definitely use them again. Until the next time .... thank you! We had an absolute blast.

We booked a complex multi centre trip in 2019 and then CoVid kicked in. Alistair at Far and Wild had done a great job in listening to what we wanted and created a package of experiences that we didn't want to give up. Throughout that gap period we were kept informed, felt listened to and truly cared for. This level of service and contact was a small example of what was to come and how customer centric the team are.
The trip itself was exceptional and seamless considering the frequent rescheduling and the different locations and bookings across Africa. We had a wonderful experience and benefitted enormously from the wealth of experience, skill and quality of the partners that Far & Wild work with.
I cannot recommend this small boutique firm highly enough. Whether it's personal service, great quality or the delivery of experiences that will give a lifetime of memories, you have to choose Far and Wild.

Brilliant trip to Botswana and Victoria Falls. Team in the office helpful and supportive through our many changes of travel plans with COVID. The wildlife was fantastic and our guides and helpers were incredible. All the arrangements in county were excellent and the standard of accommodation and food exceeded our expectations. A marvellous adventure We would highly recommend Far & Wild.

Far & Wild prepared an exceptional safari trip for the 11 members of my family in Botswana earlier this month. They understood exactly what we required and booked us into 2 camps run by African Bush Camps. These provided excellent accommodation, superb guides and a memorable welcome. We saw a huge variety of game and birds and were shown so much of the ethos of this accomplished country.
This is the second time we have used Far & Wild (Malawi 3 years ago) and I cannot recommend them too highly to anyone wants a safari experience in Southern Africa. They are receptive, understanding of one's needs and kept us informed at every stage.

Firstly in planning and agreeing our tailored itinerary.
Secondly in all the changes we have made. We have had to change dates for our planned trip to Kenya three times and finally to cancel this until we can commit (due to Covid, elections and finally my partner's cancer diagnosis). Throughout this Far and Wild have done everything they can to help and support us.

Hopefully we will be able to rebook in the coming months.

Travelled to Kenya and Zazibar with Far & Wild in July 22. Was supposed to go 2 years ago and had to wait but well worth the wait. We had a fantastic time on a well organised trip. The Masai Mara was the highlight of the trip. Thank you Far & Wild!

Just returned from a fantastic holiday in Rwanda where we were able to see gorillas ( extremely up close and personal), golden monkeys, and chimpanzees. Everything was extremely well organised and planned specifically to meet all our requirements. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was able to ensure we maximized all the opportunities this wonderful country has to offer. Already planning our next trip to Africa and would certainly work with Far and Wild again

Excellent service from Ben at Far and Wild. We had twice previously travelled to Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania with another company and were sadly disappointed with the transfers and long stop offs between connecting flights. Ben gave us suggestions for the best flights with much better connections. He was very knowledgeable on the area and gave us some great suggestions and advice to make the most of our trip. We will most certainly use them again and we most definitely recommend them.

Had fantastic support from Far and Wild for our recent family holiday in Sao Tome and Principe. They were recommended to us by Responsible Travel, but I chose them as Alistair had visit STP a few months before and seemed to really understand the place. All the recommendations they made were spot on and all the arrangements worked - not straightforward in a country with little tourist infrastructure. In particular, the day before we flew out, he worked hard to ensure our visas came through in time from the embassy. Will definitely be using them again. Very happy to recommend

Alistair and the team arranged an incredible trip for us to Namibia. Having had to wait 2 years for the trip due to COVID the wait was definitely worth it.

They arranged a fantastic self drive holiday that took in all the spectacular sights staying in memorable lodges with some unbelievable scenery and seeing all the fantastic animals.

I couldn't recommend Namibia as a destination highly enough.

I wouldn't hesitate to use Far & Wild again, thanks again to the whole team.

Saruni Samburu Lodge, Kenya - surreal location - it is hard to describe the whow factor here. Fantastic guides and fabulous food - the whole place and the hospitality makes you feel like you are princes and princesses! Only very slight draw back is the wine wasn't great, but this is hardly noticeable when there is so much else to enjoy and experience here.

Lewa House, Kenya - Cosy, hospitable and friendly. Gorgeous location, lots to do and the hosts are fantastic and fascinating company and really look after you. Of the three lodges, this is the one we are most likely to return to - I really didn't want to leave!

Constance Prince Maurice, Mauritius - I have never wanted to book fancy large hotels as they can be quite impersonal, however Ben persuaded me, and this place is unforgettably idyllic. Somehow they offer the most incredibly kind friendly and tailored service. The honeymoon package was unreal. Testament to this is the number of couples we met there who were returning to celebrate their wedding anniversaries years after their original honeymoon there - I can see the temptation! The food and wine is simply superb - second largest wine cellar in the Indian Ocean, with food to match! I would note that the external activities booked through the hotel cost more than booking them privately.

We couldn't have asked for anything more from our honeymoon. Even our flight delay in Nairobi was made memorable thanks to Ben picking this up last minute and organising a driver to take us round Karen Blixen's house and one of the slums.

We are still in awe at some of the locations and the wildlife we have seen. Thank you again Ben for you fantastic advice and for organising it all for us so well. You went above and beyond to make the whole honeymoon truly magical. A really special trip!

Alistair sorted a trip for us to Sao Tome & Principe for October 2021. We were uber careful to comply with all the UK, Portugal (transit) and STP Covid requirements so were surprised to be denied boarding at Heathrow for an unrelated reason - the visa requirements had been changed but no-one had told the UK govt website, the STP govt website or any travel agents! Nothing could be done for October, but Alistair fought hard with the DMC, the hotels and even with the airline - often via his multiple Embassy connections - to secure us credits for everything. Thanks to that, we were able to go on our trip in April and are delighted to report that Sao Tome & Principe is a magical destination. Alistair's recommendations were spot on and our whole family had a fantastic time. I'd recommend Far & Wild for any similar African adventure, and beyond too. Thank you!

We booked our third safari three years ago with Far and Wild, then Covid hit and we postponed-twice as it happened- until March this year. In the meantime, we had also decided to take our twin daughters along with us. Flights changed, flight times changed and through it all Alistair supported us every step of the way. The flight booking changed, but we were never worried as Alistair kept us informed and up to date. When our daughters flight arrived late and we were worried about transfers, we had names and phone numbers but were met off the plane, whisked through Joburg airport and on to Fed Air.
The holiday itself was amazing. Ulusaba is a phenomenal place to visit and the guide,Tom, tracker, Sepho, and all the other staff were wonderful. Our daughters, first time safari goers, are hooked!
12 Apostles hotel in Cape Town was also a beautiful hotel( be aware it’s a little outside Cape Town, but has a free shuttle, which we had to ourselves like a private taxi). We had 10 wonderful nights and then tried to fly home with BA. We flew with them as theirs was the only direct flight back from Cape Town. Our daughters flew back to Joburg and flew back with Virgin ( all sorted by Alistair). They beat us back by 14 hours!
BA were useless. Our flight was delayed, we had no info. Thank goodness for Alistair in the end of the line to reassure although even he could not fix the worst airline in the world.

Outstanding holiday post COVID to The Madikwe Safari Lodge. It was worth the wait.

We have had to postpone this trip twice and Far and Wild have been absolutely brilliant to deal with during that time. Nothing was too much trouble.

Madikwe Safari Lodge was beyond our expectations: amazing service, incredible food and to top it all off we saw plenty of game.

The only downside is coming back! Highly recommend it.

We booked a holiday to Namibia through Far and Wild Travel. It was a long time coming due to COVID 19 but having just got back we realised just how good it was. Big Blue Skies, enormous Sand dunes, The Skeleton Coast, and more animals than you could poke a stick at in Etosha - lion, rhino, elephants, loads of antelope too. Just a really good adventure in our own 4 x 4 . Good times. Thank you Far and Wild, we will be back.

Just returned from a safari holiday which we booked through Far and Wild. Everything went smoothly thanks to the guys at Far and Wild. They were there to support us before we left arranging Visas, making sure we had the right PCR documents and tests and that there was someone to meet us at the other end. My wife was a little bit edgy about going after all thats happened with Corona but we had a blast saw everything we wanted to see and more. The recommendations were spot on and could fault anything - apart from the fact I put on about a stone due to the outstanding catering everywhere we went.

Amazing holiday to Kenya hadn't been for over 20 years and wow was I impressed. Stayed at Ol Seki Mara Camp which was just mind blowing. We then finished off with time on the beach in a place called Diani staying at the Almanara Hotel. Great combo - super trip. Would go back in a heart beat.

Excellent service from a caring company. Due to travel in May 2020 they reorganised everything to October 2021, now we can't go to Namibia, Red List, they have given us a FULL Refund, no quibble and Ash immediately in our bank. First class service. We will use them again. Steve Snowden

I booked a 50th birthday trip for my wife’s birthday with Alistair Walls. Throughout the entire process, Alistair was responsive, thoughtful and insightful. He always went above and beyond. Unfortunately we had to postpone the trip for an extended period and again, Alistair was no-nonsense in the flexibility and his attitude to all of this. I will definitely be going back!

We had a trip planned through Far and Wild to go to Zanzibar which unfortunately we have had to cancel because of Covid. The Company couldn’t have been more helpful in advising us and ensured that we received a full refund. We have used this Company before and have found them to be excellent and completely transparent about terms and conditions. Can’t recommend them highly enough and look forward to rebooking in the future.
