Shambles timetable and reduced service affecting school children

The only service near us one bus with First. Used to be twice an hour, now once an hour then changed the times so my son would either by late to school, as the time was much later and then traffic means its not even on time. But the earlier one would get him in an hour and 15 mins too early and I am not prepared to send him winter to hang about on his own, its not safe. So he is just late every day for school. Complained multiple times, no one cares, I believe it is logged and then ignored. First are the worst at listening to customers and making them feel valued. Plus ensuring dozens of school kids cannot get to school on time makes me wonder how they even serve their community, but I doubt they care anyway.

No bus!

The live feed app told me the bus would be leaving bath bus station in 4 mins I left a taxi queue to get the bus. Half an hour later I was still waiting for the bus and the bus was waiting in the station with no driver. On their help page they’ve got the cheek to say delays are normally due to bad weather or congestion on the roads. The truth is the buses often don’t leave the bus station on time and there are no customer facing managers to be found

Id give it less than 1 star....

Id give it less than 1 star if possible. If you're lucky, the bus will simply be late. More than likely though it will be not in service, cancelled, just never appear or drive past you. If you complain, they'll reply with a thanks and pass it on to their depot (who clearly do nothing with it) - unequivocally, an absolute shambles of a company. Can't wait for the trams and competition to replace them. Shame though as the individual drivers I'm sure are nice folk.

Never rely on it.

Would never recommend. If you're able get a drivers license asap. 2 buses didn't arrive even though they were on the app as due. This happens numerous times and it isn't a first time situation. If you ever needed inspiration to do your driver's license quicker then purchase a monthly ticket from firstbus - you will feel inspired to stop relying, especially on FirstBus.

skipping stops

these bus drivers need to listen to when a passenger wants to get off at a stop and not skip the stop because its ridiculous its happened multiple times and it needs to be dealt with asap

Contempt for passengers

There are no inspectors making sure things run smoothly and on time. Some drivers are rude and inconsiderate and seem to have contempt for passages. Most buses are late and the worst thing is when drivers blatantly ignore passengers reaching a stop slightly late making eye contact and closing bus doors in spite like it was a joke. I have seen this many times done to old age pensioners people with children with buggies, no protocols when drivers see distressed citizens who need to catch a bus to get home. It should not be up to driver discretion as some of the drivers are very rude and seem not trained properly. Moving the bus off while unsteady passengers have not sat down is major problem also. I was trying to catch the 371 the driver saw me rushing with a limp only a few feet away from the bus and just started up the bus when he saw me. I am 60 years old and have mobility problems with a dodgy back and hip. He on purpose went off early when he saw me. This contempt for passengers with disabilities needs to stop. I am mixed race and lived in Chelmsford all my life my Mother was a war hero and worked for Marconi's in the past I have family in the military too. I would like to be treated with equality and courtesy. Drivers should not be spiteful to passengers just because they are grumpy or do not know what it is like to have a disability. So I basically have two complaints here and I am sure you are aware of the first mentioned considering the other reviews. Thank you

very rude bus driver

the bus was half an hour late, as a result i missed my shift and furthermore was extremely rude to my friend, who he falsely accused of pressing the stop button. Makikg a scene infront of the whole bus and causing unnecessary embarrassmen and veru harshly instructed him to move from the rest of our group.

Dreadful service

Dreadful service! I was waiting in the centre of Hanley for the No.18 bus to Leek. Driver drove straight past, I had my arm out and even went into the road afterwards to flag him down, he had plenty of time and space to stop and didn’t! 1.25pm bus!

Doncaster First Buses are the worst…

Doncaster First Buses are the worst buses services I've ever come across! It's not fit for purpose any longer! The bus drivers don't want to do their jobs & the people at the very top let them do whatever they want due to constant cuts to save money! I've been told more than once that they're looking to stop certain bus routes.Either that or they've stopped the routes already! NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE DUE TO BEING ONLY BOTHERED ABOUT SAVING MONEY THESE DAYS! MY SON'S SCHOOL ARE INVOLVED SINCE HE'S NOW STRUGGLING TO GET THERE & BACK HOME AGAIN! My husband's work place are aware since he's lucky he hasn't lost his job due to issues First Buses Doncaster cause .Our car is having work done."Buck you ideas up First Buses"! Stop making money the priority. Also you're putting my child's health & safety at risk ?

The 50A

The 49, 50 and 50A from town to Seacroft were being cancelled. The 50A I caught was put out of service at sports direct as no relief driver. Next bus had same issue so had to wait 30 minutes to transfer buses. There are other cancellations after this.
Updates on issues would be appreciated as frustrating when you are moved from one bus to another to another. Bosses need to reschedule better.

First bus York suddenly decided to…

First bus York suddenly decided to change a terminal for busses serving university of York. It is impossible to get to work on time if you start between 7am and 9 am and need to change from different bus! They ruined perfect connection. It is causing chaos and is not reliable. I have a yearly ticket and now have to pay for Uber!!!!

App is not worthy of 1 star

The idea is great but unfortunately that is where the positive ends. I am pretty good with web & tech things but the bus app is a joke, it is none user friendly, as an example of its uselessness we have had a bus number change in our area & although it was over a year ago the (upto date) app will not show a bus with the new numbers. The developers need to get advice from whoever designed the british rail app, that works flawlessly.

Bus never turned up (70 from the centre). Next bus didn't turn up. Zero communication from First Bus as to affected services or replacement services. Entirely useless service, do not rely on if you actually want to get anywhere in Bristol!

I just lost my job today because first buses they never in time . Especially the first bus going to Felixstowe at 6.55am 75. Thank you first buses to help me loosing my job because you people are never in time. I think it’s a completely joke.

The buses are never on time

The buses are never on time. I am a college student and I have to get a bus home (the x20) that bus never showed up so i got on a different bus to take me to a destination where another first bus would be so i could come home. Funnily enough that bus didn’t arrive either. (keep in mind i waited an extra 15mins after the scheduled time) So overall, if you are relying to get a first bus to get to a destination on time… DONT!!
