As a Tutor first tutor is best way to find good Tutors for your children.

I have been a tutor on the site for about five or six years now, and I have found it to be a thoroughly professional and easy place to obtain work. I have had no negative experiences whatsoever and I’ve actually had no reason to contact the customer service department at the site for any issues – there simply haven’t been any. Much of that is probably due to the fact that I’ve been very lucky in that my customers have always been courteous, paid on time and I have had no issues from that side of things. Fingers crossed that never happens.

The best tutoring site for tutors: clear and easy to use, no ridiculous fees. And happy tutors make for happy clients.

I have been tutoring via the First Tutors website for over 10 years and they are the best in the industry. I have been introduced to some great clients and the website enables me to screen potential clients beforehand to determine if we are a good match. Absolute recommend for parents and students too.

I have been a Psychology tutor with First Tutors for over 12 years and they provide excellent support when needed. I have never had a shortage of tutees so they are obviously very visable in the media and inetrnet searches. Highly recommend them to other teachers looking for additional income.

I have been a Maths tutor with First Tutors since 2020 and I have been happy with the service they provide. They have always been professional in our dealings, and they give helpful reminders on how to make the most of a tutoring relationship (including how to keep safe when travelling to a tutee's place).

I appreciate the opportunity to get leads at no cost to me. I also appreciate that the platforms allows tutor and client to communicate before making the decision to go ahead. All leads generated through First Tutors have been successful and I have good relationships with my clients. Everything is transparent and I am a satisfied customer.

I do wish there were even more leads generated in the UK. In fairness, though, I prefer to tutor face-to-face as I believe this is more effective so I'm not counting this against First Tutors ...

I've been with First Tutors since 2012 and they're so easy to work with. I like that they take a finder's fee and after that we make our own arrangements. Excellent communication the few times I've had to contact them and the issue has always been resolved quickly.

Simple, affordable, reliable tutor service for both tutors and families / users, meaning finding the right connection is very straightforward. There are no hidden costs - just a one-off fee. Tutors have room to promote themselves, and users have a wide choice. References are vetted, there is protection from both sides. An excellent platform to aid learning.

I have recently joined First Tutors after deciding to do some private maths and physics tuition. They did a brilliant job of confirming my identity and insisting on references and allowed me to create a professional profile. It wasn’t long before someone contacted me for tuition and after a small finders fee, First Tutors allows you to arrange all further meetings with your student. A very good service and experience with them.

Excellent reliable and professional Tutor agency

First tutors are the excellent tutoring service in the UK. I mainly use first tutor now as they don’t charge high commission charges from parents or tutors. They only charge the one off finder fee payment. They have excellent customer service .

FirstTutors is my main point of contact for new students and I have been a tutor on the site for over 10 year. All of their leads are totally relevant. The site is trustworthy with good customer service.

I was looking for a tutor for my son to support with GCSEs. I found Heathers’ details on FirstTutors as she had good feedback in tutoring Biology. I paid a substantial finders-fee. In addition, her fees were high (advertised as £90 plus but she gave a discount to £65-and now I can understand why).
Unfortunately, Heather was the worst tutor I have ever had to deal with. I found managing and organising the sessions so hard that we ceased after 12 sessions.
Pros:
- Heather knows the contents of AQA subjects

Cons:
- Out of 12 sessions, 5 had issues, from showing late, changing times to cancelling and re-arranging (up to 4 times in a row) at very late notice. Reasons given included childcare issues, migraines, broken laptop, late working etc. It became very disruptive to our family life (my use of WhatsApp doubled just to check if/when she would cancel), especially as she would often re-arrange for “tomorrow” (requiring us to re-organise other activities at short notice).
- Regularly took phone calls during sessions (my son stated more than 6 times).
I would personally not recommend Heather due to the difficulty in managing her sessions in an already stressful time around GCSEs. Thankfully my son did improve his grades, but more due to support elsewhere (something she also claims are due to her efforts). I have left feedback for her, but FirstTutors decided not to publicise it, nor refund the finders-fee. Heather hid the feedback, not addressing the main issue: her ongoing cancellations!
I believe FirstTutors was unsupportive and unhelpful not providing refunds for obvious badly behaving tutors. They (Christine) offered finding another tutor for free, but why would I look for another tutor when I have been burnt by this provider and under huge (GCSE) time restraints?? I requested for her not to contact me anymore as she refused a refund, and kept offering the same (not sufficient) solution. Would not recommend FirstTutors to anyone. Just poor.

Without any shadow of doubt, First Tutors are the best tutoring service in the UK.
All of their leads are totally relevant and the customer service team, if ever needed, are excellent no matter what your inquiry may be.

I've been a tutor on FirstTutors for about 4 years. Since its main competitor got greedy 2 years ago, FirstTutors has become my main point of contact for new students. I particularly like their charging system - a one-off finders fee which is roughly equivalent to one lesson, whereas the other site insisted on taking a cut of about 25% indefinitely.

I have been a tutor on First Tutors for over 10 years and now it is the only site I use. I am very happy with the excellent customer service - they even replied to a query on Bank Holiday Sunday! - as they are helpful and supportive. I feel as if I am being treated as a human being and, unlike some other tutor sites, they are professional and very fair.
