Outstanding service, They went above and beyond for me (a difficult customer)
My experience has been nothing short of exemplary. I wanted to try to order something which was not in stock and desperately needed it delivered before my big fishing trip due a week later. The guys I got in contact with went above and beyond to get me the exact item I needed and put special care to ensure I got it before my trip. I had some technical issues which they helped me work through. To further the awkwardness of my set of requests, I realised the address I had given was wrong... again I reached out to the guys and within 5 minutes they had remedied the problem. I mean, you can't ask much more than that from a shop to be honest. They've more than earned a loyal customer in me after my experience. I will be recommending them to my fishing buddies in future and would extend that recommendation to anyone.
Thanks again in particular to Alex and Brian for the help, It was much appreciated!
Staff are always helpful
Staff are always helpful, even with manufacturer issues. Had a rod swapped out after it failed, not sure other retailers would help with this. You might pay a wee bit more but you get the service.
They accused me of being a liar - Avoid at all cost.
I ordered a rod, reel and a 43 fishing rigs from this company. A pack of 10 rigs were missing from the delivery. I called them to let them know - They rang back 10 minutes later to say that they had checked their video and can see the guy putting them in the box for delivery. They weren't in the box and was the only item not ticked off on their pick list. I explained that they were definitely NOT in the delivery but they still claimed they have the video! I asked if they were accusing me of lying to them - his answer was "well we have the video".
I am not dishonest, I did not lie, they were not in the delivery, and I strongly object to being called a liar. I will NEVER use this company again.
Good company to deal with never had a…
Good company to deal with never had a problem with them.
I bought a gift card last week and had no reply why I was charged postage.
I bought a gift card last week and had to pay £2.99for postage, why when they advertise free postage over £50. The annoying thing actually though is despite 4 emails to them they haven’t had the decency to even reply.
Very poor customer service indeed.
Ordered a Fox Rage Hoodie on Thursday …
Ordered a Fox Rage Hoodie on Thursday and paid the extortionate £6.99 postage charge for a 5 working day delivery.
After 6 working days, no delivery. So I called them, to be advised the stock has arrived today and they will post out later.........and it will be 5 working days....
I said I wasn't happy, as I had paid for an item together with a high postage charge.
The guy advised it wasn't in stock when I ordered it, I assured him it was, as wanted the Large size, which showed as out if stock, so I ordered the XL size as that was showing as in stock.......hence why I ordered.
He basically called me a liar and then said..."So what do you want then?, I'm not gonna sit here all day arguing with you...."
So asked for a full refund.
This is the worst customer service I have ever received from an angling retailer.........actually, any retailer.......
Poor Show Glasgow Angling, lost a customer for good.
Good advice and fast delivery
I have always received good advice when trying to select the right product for me. Fast delivery.
Terrible customer service, and zero loyalty to customers.
I ordered a McLean net, and quickly noticed I picked a wrong model., I had not received any confirmation on the order, so I wrote them an email about it, asking them to cancel. Not 5 minutes later, the confirmation arrived and a message that its being shipped already.
O.K, ill make due I thought.
Later after receiving the net, I was confirmed that it was the wrong net. So I contacted them, to see if we could work out some deal on a new net and a return. They never replied to me. I emailed them several times without any reply at all. In the end I had to reach out to the producer of the net, to work out a deal - talk about non existant customer service.
Do not expect any service from this shop at all, if you receive something defect or end up having to return something, the shop will act as if the trade never took place.
Strongest of warnings. As close to scamming as it gets.
Pretty good company
Pretty good company. Very good service. Best wishes moving forward!
Don,t have the stock but sell anyway.
Don,t have the stock . Claimed someone must have bought 3 of them in the shop whilst I was placing order. Then told me 3 days later no stock not leaving me time to order elsewhere. Customer care have a don't give a toss attitude.
Replacement of defective item
Had to wait a month for a replacement of a defective item that was originally sent by next day delivery and they they still had in stock. Unbelievably poor after service.
Cold customer relations!
I had travelled a long way to visit the store (over 380 mile round trip!) I had collected quite a lot of bit and bobs in my basket and had asked if they could do a deal on 2 boat rods. The answer was no.. not a penny. Ok fair enough, but it was the atmosphere, it was horrible and quite awkward. The chap on the till said he would have done, if he was allowed to, (he was nice) but they seemed to be throwing their weight about! . Wish I hadn't come back with any items for that matter! as I decided to buy one rod and the bits and bobs.. the thing that bugging me is if I had ordered it online its free postage if you spend over £50 so it would have cost them money to ship the items... I had gone well out of my way to visit the shop and got a very frosty service off the management. I don't think i'll be using them again!
Terrible customer service l
Bought a hardy cascapedia mk 3 reel with drag problem that many anglers on forum have also experienced told there was no problem was imaging it it basically. Handle of reel bent and handle came off easily when caught flies on a bush. After long drawn out argumentative exchange of emails was told in a patronising way where I was told how to fish and look after my gear that there was no fault with the handle and I was basically lying and I must have dropped the reel or damaged it due to my own fault. No refund or apology given. Manner in which I was treated a disgrace.
Poor Customer Care, Not In Good Faith
Been a customer for years and had problems with them. The two reels I bought from them broke easily. One was a Penn surf reel deformed by poor packaging but they refused to acknowledge. Another was an Okuma but just decided to ignore knowing their lack of customer care and satisfaction and just wanted to fish. The last straw was today. My order for a Shimano Scimitar rod came in. I complained that the spigot doesn't fit properly but was told it was meant that way (sorry but my rods are not that way). I was totally unhappy and decided to bend it(just like what i do to test my rods) and it snapped in to two. Made a call to them and after their long defensive argument it was my fault for bending it and would never refund or replace it. I own several rods (one is an old Shimano Scimitar)of different brands but this one from Glasgow Angling is a sham. These people do business lacking in good faith but I do still trust Shimano. The time honoured Japanese values of doing business in good faith and reciprocity, honesty, superb engineering and quality has nothing do do with Glasgow Angling Centre. I informed all my fishing friends to stay away from Glasgow Angling Centre. I had enough of them
Opening times said 5:30pm on Sunday got their 5:20pm door locked no answer can't go fishing now
Don't put opened to 5:30 when your not
Fast delivery and good prices
Always been happy with their service. Fast delivery too.
Good range of Bedchairs
Bought last year a JRC Bedchair from them, fast service and good price. Much better now when trying to relax while camped out overnight.
