On March 24, I purchased the Fiverr Kickstart Seller Plus subscription. I canceled the subscription directly through the Fiverr dashboard on the exact same day.

Fiverr's system processed the cancellation via the interface, but when I contacted support, they explicitly refused to issue my refund. Their justification was a hidden rule stating that users must manually open a separate customer support ticket within 48 hours of purchase to get their money back.

This is a textbook "Dark Pattern." The platform makes it automated and easy to purchase and "cancel" via a button, but deliberately hides the actual refund process behind a secondary, unprompted bureaucratic hurdle. There was no mandatory, explicit warning during the cancellation flow stating that canceling via the dashboard was insufficient for a refund.

Fiverr relies on an intentional omission in its user interface to trick users and withhold funds for a service canceled on day one. I am demanding an immediate full refund for this transaction.

Fiverr Freelance Service. States by the rules that they hire professionals to write resumes optimazation with your career. I hired someone named Johanna to professionally revamp my resume. She is the worst of the worst. AI could have done a better job than she did. She even said that for the same $109 she was charging, she would redo my LinkedIn profile and cover letter. The catch was that I needed to give her my login credentials. Also, she never gave me a cover letter. My resume was never done professionally, never received a cover letter, and why are you asking someone for their login credentials? It is personal. I disputed the charges with my credit card company, and Fiverr responded that, on Johanna's behalf, I received a professional resume. Resume received to review, but not the service as stated by the company and Johanna. I will never use this company ever again and stay away from Johanna; she will rob your money as well, Fiverr.

Trying to do something as basic as uploading an intro video turned into a joke. I submitted it eight different times, all within their own stated requirements, and every single one was rejected with no meaningful explanation. It’s a broken, frustrating system that wastes your time from the start.

Setting up a profile is easily one of the worst experiences I’ve had on any platform. You’re not allowed to showcase real work unless it was tied to a paid project, which completely ignores passion projects or independent work, you know, the stuff that actually shows skill.

And then there’s the scams. Constant “click this link” messages flooding your inbox, many of them coming from accounts tied to the Seller Plus tier, the paid side of Fiverr!? That alone tells you everything about how little oversight or care there is.

What’s worse is how far this platform has fallen. It used to be about connecting people and opportunities. Now it feels like corporate sludge, over-moderated in the wrong places, completely ignored in the ones that matter, and run with zero regard for the actual users keeping it alive.

If you’re a freelancer, don’t expect support, fairness, or even basic functionality. Just expect frustration.

I hired a freelancer, everything was fine, I was happy with the completed work. But the freelancer decided not to provide the files I paid for. She kept ghosting me so I had no choice but to reach out to customer support. Well customer support was lousy, I asked for a refund or a credit. They wouldn't do, I kept asking, nothing. So I had no choice but to contact my bank and request a charge back. Fiverr, was wanting me to just carry on, to lose out on my money and work. Now they are telling me that a charge back violates their "terms of service" and that if I violate them again my account will be restricted! The people at Fiverr, don't have policies in place to protect the customer. This same freelancer was allowed to conduct business on the site even though they had stolen my money! Get this, I found a new freelancer since they decided to credit me. They requested that I stop the charge back with my bank, which I was about to do. But first I went to my Fiverr account and the remaining credit has been removed. Does it make sense to request a dispute/charge back be stopped/reversed but then you take back the remaining credit?! The people at Fiverr, lack the integrity & can't be trusted!

I looked around the website on some days within a couple of months. Suddenly, with no warning I get an E-Mail that my account has been permanently banned. No explanation. After reaching out to the support, literally the same: No explanation. "We are committed to protecting our marketplace." Okay, so tell me from what then??
Just disappointing!

I had my Fiverr account permanently disabled, and after 90 days I was supposed to withdraw my remaining funds.However, I couldn’t recall my security question, so I reached out to support for help. I opened multiple tickets but received no response, leaving my money stuck in the account.

The lack of support in resolving a simple withdrawal issue has been extremely frustrating. I hope Fiverr improves their customer service for cases like this. Now I'm told i will have to wait for another 90days to receive my money and i need this money to pay off debts, this is crazy their lack of support to clients is alarming.

This is actually a scam service!
I placed a few orders, and then it turned out they were subscriptions that can’t be canceled.
A month later, the scammers sent me receipts for orders they hadn’t fulfilled, but the system automatically marked them as completed.
The result: I lost 400 euros.

The freelancer I hired displayed highly unprofessional and potentially harmful behavior, including temporarily blocking my access to my own website when I raised legitimate concerns. Reporting this to Fiverr did not result in proper accountability. By cancelling the order and preventing me from leaving a review, the platform effectively allows such behavior to go unnoticed, putting other clients at risk.

I wanted to help out a few people as a hobby creating fantasy stories and other simple services.
The result was a stream of over 50 scammers messaging me with off-site links in the 1st 24 hours after signing up and a total of 200 of these messages being sent in the 1st 14 days after signing up.
I have recieved one request that actualy was related to my offered service, and it was basicaly a person asking me to spend 60 hours for 5 dollars "because reasons"

The Fiverr success system has become increasingly unfair to long-term sellers. Over the years, I built my profile with dedication, completing thousands of projects and maintaining high ratings. However, recent changes and deranking practices have negatively affected my gigs and overall profile performance, despite my consistent work and quality service. I relied heavily on Fiverr as my main platform, but now it feels impossible to grow or get new orders. Because of this, I am exploring new platforms to find a fairer system where experienced sellers are valued and rewarded for their work.

They will do anything to protect the buyer no matter what, and don't care what might happen to the seller, they have proved this time and time again.

Platform is full of scammers nobody check,refunds are only managed from a support with default bot replies and no one really refund you,they just force you to get your money back on the platform and use it, so it's only a win for them,the commisions fees for sellers are really high. if you are a freelance or you looking for gigs, look elsewhere, this platform it's not reliable.

I got my first gig, but I can't withdraw the money. The system asks me for an authentication code, but I never received one. I contacted customer support, but they haven't replied to the issue. I tried to change the phone number to receive the code, but it's not working.

It's hit and miss. Review system is poor. You cannot leave a review at any time later. You have a narrow window to leave a review. This is useless for advertising as results take much longer to see. Subsequently there are a lot of scammers on that site. I won't be using fiverr again for my business

Fiverr has been DISQUALIFIED from future business for violating the common decency of business practices.

Specifically, Fiverr has caused great hardship, disappointments, frustrations, and bewilderment from Fiverr antiquated processes and subhuman, nonsensical rules.

Fiverr is also hereby advised that neither I nor my company will ever touch your failed business again, benefiting from the myriad of competition that you should know by now exists.

Do not further contact me or harrass me. No further payments, specifically thru paypal, will ever be directed to Fiverr again.

There will be no more warnings. Do not fail to pay attention.

Fiverr is horrible
They allow sellers to utilize AI to clean up their grammar to deceive people into thinking they are fluent in English and then when you give them an assignment and spend money, the messages back and forth clearly show they are not at ALL fluent in your language. They also allow sellers to claim to be experts in work that they obviously don't know how to do once you get started with them. They allowed this platform to go to pot, and what was left of it they allowed AI to destroy.

Too many spam messages. After uploading a couple of Giggs, I started to get spam messages with suspicious links. I don't know what type of checks they perform but it was not just one, but a few spam messages that I received for my Giggs, I blocked each one of them but still received more spam. I decided to deactivate my account due to this poor experience.

So this seller at Fiverr just left the platform and I have unfinished project with her. Reached out to Fiverr support and they say they cannot help me get in touch with the seller as she has already left the platform! Of course they have some contact details and would easily be able to solve the issue but they do not want to. That's terrible, specially when they know that the documents are critical in nature.

At a broader level, there clearly is lack of vetting process and ability to manage spurious operators from abusing their platform.

I have been on fiverr for more than 2 years and recently Fiverr restricted my Seller Profile. I have been creating cases for one week and no agent joined me as they used to in the Past. It is so disappointed to tell that they have restricted the account without Prior warning although according to their policies they warn for 3 times. A bot will keep bringing into loops and at the end we will just get an auto response. It's so pathetic that even after completing more than 600 Projects on fiverr and 5 star rating, they will not help out.

Fiverr didn’t just drift from their original promise — they flat-out abandoned it.
The whole platform was built on the idea of “a gig for five dollars,” and now that slogan feels like a relic from a company they no longer want to be. You’re lucky to find anything at the price they used to brag about. Instead of staying true to the model that made them popular, they’ve morphed into a bloated marketplace pretending to be something they’re not. It’s misleading, it’s disappointing, and it completely undercuts the trust they once earned.
