Avoid!!!
Like everyone else we booked a trip with Fleetway which was cancelled due to COVID-19. And like everyone else we’re struggling to get a refund, I will be reporting Fleetway ABTA and CMA as well as taking legal action to recover my money.
They seem unable to grasp that they are breaking the law, there is no way on earth I would EVER use this company again, they’re all about keeping your money in their pockets. No thought for customers that may be facing furlough and or redundancy and need their money refunded back urgently.
Actual score zero stars
Actual score zero stars. Like many others, I have paid for a holiday and obviously it got cancelled. From the off, instead of saying bear with us, this is a weird situation, they have refused any refunds, which contravenes all basic consumer rights and the law. Our holiday insurance paid us back so this firm has our money and it's all profit for them. I so hope the insurers take them to the cleaners.
Dreadful company
Dreadful company. We would never consider booking anything with them again. Our holiday was cancelled 6 days prior to travel. Have repeatedly told them we only want a cash refund. At our ages of 71 and 74 who knows if we will be fit and well enough, or even alive, to travel at a future date. It's now 70 days since they cancelled. They haven't even acknowledged our last communication.
Just had feedback from credit card…
Just had feedback from credit card company, who asked if I’d had a credit note. I said yes, but I’d never accepted a credit note, Fleetway had just emailed one even though I had previously requested a refund. They said if that’s the case I’m unlikely to get a refund as a credit note has been issued. Think Fleetway are trying to use this to dodge there legal responsibilities once again. If your bank asks about a credit note & you’ve not accepted one, just say one has not been issued as I think I’m going to struggle now.
Good luck to all, company wise suppose this will sort the wheat from the chaff.
Formal Complaint
Like many others we struggled to get any info from Fleetway. I initiated a “formal complaint” which at least got them to respond (this is a legal requirement).
Initially they said we could have a refund credit note or claim via OUR insurance. My response was no. Next they also offered us the chance to rebook. Again my response was no. There latest offer says we can have a refund if we wait until they get there money. Again I have said this is unacceptable and require a cash refund within the next 14 days (that will be 74 days since cancellation).
I have notified my intention to pursue via ABTA, CMA and the Ombudsman. Any case referred to the Ombudsman costs the complainant nothing but if there have been 25 complaints made to the Ombudsman then every subsequent referral will cost Fleetway £550. I do not wish to see them punished, I just want my money back as per the t & c’s. Maybe more people should consider a formal complaint as every Company has to abide by the guidelines for these. Good luck
Dishonest, Unlawful, Terrible Customer Experience
Not much more to add to the numerous 1 star complaints that Fleetway are receiving for their appalling customer service during what is unprecedented times.
Holiday in late April was cancelled via e-mail at the end of March. No way of communicating with them other than e-mail and response time to this was slow. When a response did come setting out all options, it was technically incorrect as it went against both Package Travel Regulation Advice and the RCN guidance published by ABTA. Actively pushed all options other than a cash refund and only after numerous requests for a cash refund did they respond saying they will only pay out once all costs recovered from suppliers (again against all consumer law).
I have had holidays with other operators impacted and have accepted a RCN due to the professional nature they have approached my booking and the honest and personal advice I feel I have received. Sadly Fleetway are lacking in all of these areas. I will certainly not be using again and implore potential customers to look at the many other operators out there who are head and shoulders above this company in the way they treat their customers.
Very, very disappointing treatment from Fleetway Travel.
Very disappointing treatment from Fleetway Travel - this company appear to have no shame and 1 star is far in excess of what they actually deserve but this is the lowest I can give them!
Fleetway cancelled our holiday to Turkey on 17th March so, by law, should have refunded us in full within 14 days. What they have instructed us to do was make a claim against our insurance or, either rebook or accept a Refund Credit Note. They have got to be joking.
I would never trust this company again, either with my money or responsibility to book or manage a holiday for us. Their Customer Service is shocking. I'm afraid for us we now have no option but to join all the others and take further action to recover what is rightfully due to us.
Fleetway - abysmal
Won't bore everybody with the details but our experience is as bad as everybody else. Understand it is a difficult time but it hasn't meant theat I have become ill mannered, whereas Fleetway Travel is the rudest company I have dealt with. Telehone calls not answered, numerous e mails not replied to. Unsure how one can book another holiday if they won't take calls. I have had 2 other holidays cancelled snd have had a far more positive experience with Riviera and Trailfinders. Had Fleetway acted in a professional manner I may have been willing to accept a refund credit note.
Weekend in Jordan!
Had booked a weeks escorted tour of Jordan with Fleetway Travel, departure date 14th of March this year. We were surprised that we even left the country especially with the Covid 19 situation that was emerging. If however we had cancelled we would have lost our money.
To cut a long story short we were told the day after we we arrived that we have to leave by the Monday.
Information from Fleetway Travel was non existent and we were advised that we should make alternative arrangements as Fleetway could not secure enough seats for our return journey! The flight was secured.
However on our return to the UK Fleetway have been less than responsive about our concerns and request for a refund.
We were advised to contact our travel insurance regarding that, well you don’t get cover for curtailment of your holiday.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Bad company.
I booked a trip through fleetway and because of the covid 19 outbreak they canceled my trip for good reason, but they will not refund my credit card purchase. They offer me a refund credit note to be used by 12-2121 which is unacceptable. I do not plan on going anywhere for now and I want my cash refund. They refuse to comply with FTC and ABTA regulations which require a full cash refund. I had to start a dispute through my credit card company, and they tell me that they will do a charge back from Fleetway and I will receive a full cash credit back to my account by June 4. I hope that is the case. I will update when that happens. If I could give less than 1 star it would be deserving for this company.
My credit card company transferred the funds owed to me by Fleetway back to my bank account today. That is the fastest way to get your refund. Fleetway never responded to my card company. I also opened a complaint with the Missouri Attorney Generals Office Customer Protection Unit and Fleetway never responed to them either. Good luck everyone.
After several weeks I received a reply…
After several weeks I received a reply from Fleetway about my refund request. They seem now to have accepted that I will only accept a full refund, but they say they are not in a position to give us our money back until they have recovered it from the relevant suppliers. This is nonsense. The main cost of our trip was BA flights. BA have been providing refunds when requested. They refunded 4 other separate flights within 48 hours of my request. They will have either refunded Fleetway already, or at least given them a credit which they could easily use on another booking. The remaining cost components of our trip were South American hotels, none of which would have been paid in advance by Fleetway, who only pay hotels after room occupancy. There is no reason therefore for Fleetway not to have provided our refund. I am utterly disgusted at the way this company is behaving.

Not a lot of learning going on here then!!!!
Ditto the experience of many other 1 star reviewers trying to get back their legal entitlement.
This company is a disgrace and we will…
This company is a disgrace and we will certainly not be using them again. The Management team hide behind their front office staff and will not take any responsibility for dealing with their customers. We have been trying to obtain a refund for weeks. We have got nowhere. Other companies have dealt with refunds in a professional way this company has no Professionalism. A very poor company with extremely bad management
We booked a holiday to cyprus through…
We booked a holiday to cyprus through freeway travel after various phone calls we eventually got booking reference numbers and transfers correct. We only days from going when lockdown started . All we got from fleetway was a generic email telling us to contact our travel insurance and claim when we did get somebody on the telephone we were told the same thing did feel sorry for the operator as they were only doing as they had been instructed. Have been offered vouchers only because of government intervention . Unfortunately supermarkets don't take fleetway vouchers.
Happy in the past Furious now…
I have used Fleetway in the past and been very satisfied, however, I have experienced the same as the recent posts on here. After repeatedly asking for a refund in my last email I asked 'are you refusing to refund me'. That was 2 weeks ago and like the rest of writers the company is ignoring my request.
As I think the Co may be going under, as they don't have the decency to respond to complaints, I am going to ask for RFC note as I believe that may protect my money.
Has anyone had a refund I wonder?
All my other pre booked events with other companies have been satisfactorily resolved.
I am disgusted with this company
I am disgusted with this company. After a complete fiasco visit to Jordan in March of this year, I wrote a very strong letter of complaint. They assured me they would investigate and respond within 28days. 36 plus days later I have still heard nothing, had no replies to my emails. This just sums up what a completely disinterested company they are. From the booking of the holiday last year, the communication has been abysmal. I would never recommend them or rebook with them.
I have been corresponding with them…
I have been corresponding with them since the Spanish Grand Prix was postponed. No response to early emails then the advice to contact travel insurer or accept an RCN. Insisted on a refund and just had the previous statement repeated. A wait of 20 months for RCN redemption is a joke!!
Will now report it to CMA and ABTA.
Our experience with Fleetway is similar…
Our experience with Fleetway is similar to others. All I can say is problems can always arise, the quality of the reponse is what shows the professionalism of the company. This company has taken our money, provided no service and refused to refund it until December 2021. We will be taking them to court.
2 months and still waiting
I have been reluctant to leave a negative review as I wanted to give Fleetway plenty of time due to home busy they must be. I have been chasing a response now for nearly 2 months. We had to return home from our holiday In Jordan early on the 16/3 due to travel restrictions imposed by the Jordanian government where the airport was being closed. I had an initial reply saying they’d be in touch in 28days. The response promised is now 3 weeks overdue. So disappointed that Fleetway seem to have abandoned their promise.
Iceland 22-25 March - update
Further to my review of 28 March I still await a refund from Fleetway. Like others, I've been offered rescheduling (almost certainly at higher cost) or a refund credit note which will expire on 31 December 2021 - much further into the future than stipulated by ABTA.
In the mean time, I have had an unrelated holiday cancelled - a self-booked week in Malta 2-9 May 2020. By total contrast to Fleetway I have had my separate accommodation and flight bookings refunded in full with no problems. Well done Jet2 and my apartment rental company for showing up Fleetway for the shoddy outfit they now are.
