Fleetway Travel - Breaking the law

Fleetway Travel cancelled our package holiday to Cyprus in April. Have emailed them on several occasions saying that we wanted a refund. We have not received a reply to any of these emails. They have broken the law and don’t even have the common decency to reply. We have complained to CMA & ABTA and are now investigating legal action both against the company and directors, who are leading and directing a company to operate illegally.
Fleetway are a thoroughly disreputable company that should be avoided by all.

Was due to go to Crete at end of April

Due to go to Crete at end of April. Cancelled, as expected, by Fleetway, at end of March No refund option as per their terms and conditions. Sent details to our credit card company. They will not refund the money! I bet they are inundated.
Therefore we have reluctantly accepted the refund credit note option, backed by ABTA, by email to Fleetway. We would rather have the same holiday next year This was sent several days ago but no reply from Fleetway. I wonder if the company still exists as such. It is interesting that no Fleetway representative seems to be replying to reviews on this site, unlike other companies. Perhaps I now need to send a further email reversing my decision. This is not helped by the government not intervening to clarify the refund credit note issue.

Law flouted again

Another email from the anonymous Fleetway team refusing a legally binding refund. Told to use insurance - they will not cover Fleetway’s responsibility- or take a RCN. Tell me this is fully ATOL protected and I can get a refund at end of 2021. I must have missed something as I thought I was ATOL protected. Seems they can ignore the law and play fast and loose with ATOL guarantees which clearly can be disposed off at their whim.
Interestingly they still advertise fully protected ATOL holidays. So looks like they are breaking advertising standards as well.
CMA complaint lodged and their response says I am due a refund. Seems Fleetway are above the law.
Buyer beware.

Fleetway refusing to refund!

Fleetway have not responded to our emails so I have now lodged a complaint with the UK Governments online coronavirus business complaint service (google it)

I am also taking up the complaint procedure with ABTA and ATOL

They are legally bound to refund in full for the cancellation of a package holiday but are refusing to do so and are now not even answering any emails!

Unbelievably terrible customer service that I am sure will result in the loss of the majority of your past customers justifiably so!

If you are considering booking with #fleetway beware! Just google Fleetway Travel and see the amount of complaints about their refusal to refund!

Today we should have been travelling to…

Today we should have been travelling to Tenerife for a weeks luxury holiday to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary, booked via Fleetway Travel. Email received on 26 April to advise holiday was cancelled, which was to be expected in view of the current situation. However after many many e-mails, including one to the CEO, NO response at all. Disgraceful. I even complained to ABTA yesterday. Booked previous holidays with them no problem. Would NOT book again.

Another disappointed customer. My holiday to Madeira for 8th May with Fleetway cancelled and despite requesting a refund, which I am legally entitled to, absolutely No joy.

Same as all the other reviews really

Same as all the other reviews really. Fleetway have treated us VERY BADLY. I am unable to get a LAWFUL refund on my holiday cancelled by them. They want me to take vouchers which I am unwilling to do. Small claims court here we come......

ANYONE BEEN SUCCESSFUL WITH THE SMALL CLAIMS COURT YET?????

Small Claim Action

After being ignored and threatening Fleetway with a small claim court action by email, I finally spoke to someone on Wednesday last week, ( I was very surprised the phone was answered after a couple of rings ) who asked had I not received an email last Monday to say we could have a refund ? Of course we didn’t !!!!
She assured me that I will get one ( still not received) stating we will be refunded but we would have to be patient. Our patience has ran out as I think this is just another delaying tactic to hang on to our money, so we will be submitting the small claim action on Monday , it will be worth the £120 that will be refunded along with our £3000 when we win. We have had 2 previous holidays with Fleetway, but never again and will definitely not be recommending them to anyone after the disgusting treatment we have received

Shameless Lawbreakers

Same disappointing treatment from Fleetway Travel - this company has no shame! 1-star is far in excess of what they deserve.
Fleetway cancelled my holiday on 24th March so, by law, should have refunded me in full within 14 days - they are still refusing to do so unlike other, more reputable, travel companies who are honouring their legal obligations.
Apart from having the cheek to ask me to seek payment from my travel insurer instead of them, they are only offering me the chance to re-book (when? at the same cost? - unlikely!) or accept a 'Refund Credit Note' (RCN) which would expire in December 2021. There is no indication as to how soon, or indeed if, the RCN would enable me to claim my refund before it expires and becomes useless.
All consumer groups like Which, Money Saving Expert and government watchdogs CMA confirm that, by law, a full refund if requested should be made within the 14 days under the European Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018. Something which, bizarrely, Fleetway currently confirm themselves on their website Package Travel Directive section saying: "We, Fleetway Travel Ltd will be fully responsible for the proper performance of the package as a whole. Additionally, as required by law, we have protection in place to refund your payments ..." .

How can they be allowed to break the law so flagrantly? They are shamelessly swindling their clients in an openly self-serving and repugnant manner.

Fleetway you are loosing another loyal customer

Fleetway, don’t know what planet your CEO comes from, the most recent comments posted on Trust Pilot speak for themselves. You cannot change your terms and conditions to suit yourselves, I am owed a full cash refund for my holiday as are many others who booked through yourselves. Last year I unfortunately had to cancel a holidays week before we were due to go.i accepted the £1800 loss, accepting the t’s & c’s from the time of booking, however using Fleetways new rules should I be expecting a refund???

Follow BA Holidays example where they have provided me a full cash refund as per their similar t’s & c’s for a holiday I was planned to go on in early June

Matthew was very helpful today....

I spoke to Matthew just now and found him to be VERY helpful - he confirmed my request for a full refund would be put in place and I would receive an acknowledgement email in a few days. That it would mention 'Vouchers' but to ignore that as a FULL REFUND for my cancelled holiday had been noted. That I would require patience for this full refund to be processed.

Rather different response to what has been added to Trust Pilot below so hoping that this patience is the key here.

They are breaking the law

As all have previously mentioned they have taken money and breaking the law with no refund. They have been reported as I would advise all to-do, as per previous comments here.
Interesting there last posted accounts show they have £6.3m cash in the bank with an additional £7.8m held for loss situations....

Update.....

Update

On Sunday evening 3 May we received an email from Matthew, one of the Fleetway Customer Service team. He apologized that we had not heard from them and said that an email should have been sent last week to update us on our booking. Matthew said that the email covered our ‘options’ of what to do next and he would get it sent to us on Monday morning. Well yes, you have guessed it, today is 4pm Tuesday and still no email.
As before,I urge all Fleetway clients to file a report with the CMA.

As all of the other latest reviews…

As all of the other latest reviews state, Fleetway are refusing me my money back too. Generic email responses and not answering their phones. They cancelled me on 16/03/2020 so am sure they would have had some of my money back from BA and holiday hotel by now.
I am wanting to take them to court and understand there are various ways of doing so. One is for us all to do a class action and present them with a petition to wind them up. Petition costs are not recoverable, but costs split between many are preferable to not getting a £1 back from Fleetway.
What do you think people??

Will never use again

I have just received another email from Fleetway after filling in a form on Resolver. This says they cannot provide a refund but a voucher or rebooking at a later date. I too have reported them to the CMA. I want a full refund.
