Have you been had by FLEECEWAY

Have you been had by FLEECEWAY?
Did you too think you were covered by abta? Abta is for the travel agents and are complicit in ripping everyone off, they are advising their members (the travel companies) not to pay refunds! ABTA are not acting in YOUR interests!
Fleeceway are now stating they hope the government will bail them out? Yet they have £6million contingency funds. FLEECEWAY you have taken everyone’s money, we haven’t had our holidays so give us back our money!
We must all make sure we follow this company and their directors and shareholders and make sure we never give them any business in the future. You can get all the details you need form companies house online!
Let’s make sure they go bust, when they start up again and they will, under a different name let’s make sure they go bust again!
You cannot and will not get away with stealing from the public.

Thieves

Same story as everyone else. Just cancelled my holiday and told me to contact my insurance company. The airline are offering several options but same issue as some others, flight booked by Fleetwood so it seems like I've lost that option.
They have just dropped us like a ton of bricks. I have 3 other hotels/cottage booked, everyone is offering alternatives. Will NEVER use these again. Looks like they will get our money back and just hang on to it. Thieves.

Are Fleetway still trading

Are Fleetway still trading? They should have refunded the cost of our holiday over a month ago. They haven’t. I have tried to contact them by phone, no reply. Did get one email back yesterday which said they are looking to the government to fund refunds. They say they are “working hard” well only on avoiding their legal obligations.

Stay clear of Fleetway

What a bunch of rip off merchants.
Fleetway rang me on 3rd March 2020 to cancel my holiday due to flight cancellations. They promised I would receive a full refund within 7-10 days.
35 days later, nothing to be seen of the 2 grand. I have managed to ring them and email them earlier on - I had verbal reassurances that the refund was on its way, and I have it in writing on one of those emails that my refund is coming.
Now, none of the phone numbers connect to a human being. None of the email addresses - neither replying to those that came from them, nor those published as contact emails - are valid.
Legally, they should have given the refund within 14 days. Everything is ATOL and ABTA protected, so they are covered insurance wise.
What a shower of - I'll leave that word to your imaginations.
NEVER, EVER, USE THIS COMPANY.

ROBBED of our money

ROBBED of our money! Everthing people have posted is true.. My questions is how do we file a complaint with ATOL or ABTA? We are from the US, so is there something we can do from here? You mention section 75 of the consumer Credit Act, but that seems to apply to you in the UK.. Not sure what we can do here in the US.. any ieas? Thanks and stay safe.

It has been over a month and I am still waiting for a refund related to my canceled holiday. Fleetway Travels most recent stall tactic was to have their CEO send out a generic letter talking about the how the government and the travel industry Is looking at ways to protect consumer rights. I have an idea, how about you refund the money due to customers when there travel has been canceled? You had no trouble taking the money, but suddenly refunding a customer back for servicing that will not be provided takes indefinite amount of time. At this point, it amounts to fraud by Fleetway Travel.

I have a family of 8 trip coming up to Spain on the 2nd of May and of course they are just telling me that they can't provide the trip and all I want is for them to give me the trip in the future. It took us 3 years to save up for this trip, taking no other vacations. My kids worked so hard saving every dollar for this. I don't even know how to be able to refund them their hard earned money because I don't have it. It's not fair how they wipe their hands clean and feel no remorse of compensating one way or another. The travel insurance also claims that they are not refunding anything. They have no morals.

FLEETWAY HAVE STOLEN MY MONEY

Holiday was booked for March 23rd. Understandably due to the pandemic the holiday is cancelled. Two weeks later all I have received is a generic email telling me to contact my travel insurer. Fleetway refuse contact, or any type of responsibility to return my money to me. They've taken my money and refuse to return it. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THEM.

SCAM AND FRAUD!!!

Very terrible company!!! We booked a trip 7 months ago for Italy. Obviously it had to be canceled due to the situation with the Coronavirus. That is understandable. What is not understandable is the refusal of support. They said today when I spoke with Joel from the after sales department, that all the info he has is that I need to file a claim with a travel insurance company. He stated that multiple times, as well as the airlines aren’t refunding so how can they. Which is a LIE. According to our airlines, American and Finnair, they are issuing refunds or reimbursements. That is FRAUD. Fleetway is being refunded and keeping the money. Do NOT books any travel with them. They are scam artists, rude, and unhelpful. Avoid at all costs.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

They are not worthy of even one star but had no choice. My trip to Jersey was cancelled on 5th March due to collapse of Flybe before start of lock down and was informed by Fleetway I would be refunded within 14 days. No refund was made so contacted them again only to be told it would be 14 'working days' and a refund would be made as it was being processed. Guess what - yup, still no refund. What a bunch of thieving, lying crooks Fleetway Travel are. Will they get away with all the people they are ripping off - of course they will as I daresay the top management have big fat cat accountants to stash our hard earned money away in off shore accounts. Well I firmly believe what goes around comes around and even the likes of Fleetway Travel will get their come uppance in one form or another.

Unhelpful (and unlawful?) Fleetway Travel

I too have just been in contact with Fleetway Travel. My cancelled holiday was due out tomorrow 02 April 2020 but I have had no one contact me regarding a refund or reschedule. All I have is a generic email informing me not to contact them directly and to contact my travel insurance. But unfortunately, of course as we all know, travel insurance companies are not taking any responsibility or offering any help during this unprecedented situation. I have just rang Fleetway today but all I was told is that I can be sent an email from the Customer Services Department (the same one I have already received) or I can contact my Travel Insurer. The Aftersales person I was speaking to then put the phone down on me!!!

They basically took advantage of the…

They basically took advantage of the coronavirus to keep people's money and cancel holidays over the period advised by the FCO in which not to travel. The integrity of this company will be in tatters after this absolutely diabolical attitude, people's livelihoods are at risk and opportunists such as fleetway take advantage of a vulnerability for monetary gain, absolutely sickening, what about people who didn't have travel insurance sorted upon booking. Absolute scum bags these lot.

I WOULD HAVE GIVEN NO STARS IF I COULD

I feel so let down by Fleetway Travel. I would usually book our holidays through Jet2 or TUI but decided to give them a go after a recommendation from a good friend who had used them a couple of times last year and had received good service and very competitive prices. So last June I booked 2 holidays, one of which was due to take place on 25th April. On 17th March I received a very generic email advising that they had taken the decision to cancel the holiday. In view of the situation I wasn't surprised however what I was surprised by was their instruction for me to claim the full cost against my travel insurance. I did contact my insurance provider who advised that my travel insurance (even though it was a premier plus policy) did not cover for this eventuality and that it was the travel providers legal responsibility to provide a full refund. I therefore emailed Fleetway to advise them but all I received back was an email refusing! I am now proceeding with a section 75 claim via Barclaycard, which I've done online after waiting 1 hour & 40 mins on the phone with no answer but no doubt they are busy with many similar calls. I've now got concerns regarding the other holiday that I have booked for July with them and paid a £700 deposit with a balance of £698 due at the beginning of May, I have asked Barclaycard their advice and am awaiting a response. I should have stuck with Jet2 & TUI who I hear are refunding their customers without any hassle. Lesson learned!! Ps there is a review below which mentions a FB page called Fraud by Fleetway which I found last night but now seems to have been removed?

Cancelled trip. Refusing refund. They don’t care.

This company cancelled our trip before the government advised on all but essential travel but are breaking the 2018 Package Travel Regulations by refusing to refund our money (against the law).
Not responding to email, impossible to contact via telephone.
We are one of hundreds of people who are likely to never see our holiday or our hard earned money back.
Please don’t fall into the same trap with these people. Don’t lose your money to them.

i will never book with Fleetway again

I would strongly recommend not booking with this organisation. If I could have given 0, I would have. Completely understandable that our trip was cancelled due to Covid19 but not issuing a refund is not acceptable. When we called Fleetway they said they could provide a credit note but could not provide a refund. When asked why, no reply was given. I will never book with Fleetway again.

DO NOT BOOK WITH FLEETWAY TRAVEL!!!

Another very angry customer!!!!!!!
Honeymoon cancelled by Fleetway which is understandable with current events, but not giving a refund as they should be is unacceptable, especially when other travel companies are doing so. As per Fleetway they are lobbying the government for the law to be changed so they do not have to!!!!!!!!!!! But as it stands at the moment they do, but are refusing to...
Will never book with these dishonest ************ ever again!

breaking the law!!

Fleetway Travel have cancelled my holiday booking due to Coronavirus. Understandable BUT the airline and hotel are both giving refunds which Fleetway can claim back as they booked it. However, Fleetway are refusing to refund me! No excuse! Legally they must refund me but they are ignoring the law!

Cancelled our holiday and fobbing us…

Cancelled our holiday and have constantly fobbed us off by telling us to contact our insurance company. This lack of customer service compared to other travel companies undermines the intregity of the company and will most certainly result in customers going elsewhere in the future. Eventually we will be able and want to travel again - but NEVER with a company that doesn't care about its customers.
