Crisis Avoided

Our solicitors closed with no notice 5 days before completion of our property sale. Lauren Briddon picked the file up and managed to get the whole chain back on track in time for the agreed completion date. It was an epic effort and saved the whole chain a lot of grief and stress. I would highly recommend this company in terms of communication and professionalism. Thank you Lauren!

Zero due dilligence

Flint Bishop took on a case from Octopus Energy without carrying out even the most basic due diligence. Octopus Energy decided that because my company shares a PO Box address with countless others, they could randomly assign debts from entirely unrelated companies to mine.

This false information was then passed to Flint Bishop, who repeated the same failure. A simple check on Companies House would have shown that no person connected to my company has any link whatsoever to the company they are attempting to pursue. Instead, they chose to harass a completely unrelated business rather than verify their facts.

Anyone else having similar issues, complain to the FCA. Search FCA Contact as a consumer, and your query is Consumer Credit > Debt Recovery.

Also make a complaint to the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Excellent service – highly recommended

I would like to express my sincere thanks to the whole team for the excellent service provided in the sale of my late father’s house.

As I live in Austria and the property is in the UK, I expected the process to be complex and potentially stressful. However, from start to finish, everything was handled extremely smoothly and with the utmost professionalism.

Communication was clear, timely, and reassuring throughout, and I always felt fully informed and confident that the matter was in safe hands. The efficiency and attention to detail made what could have been a difficult experience remarkably straightforward.

I would not hesitate to recommend your firm and am very grateful for the support and professionalism shown throughout the process.

Snarky comment about me being Autistic

When asked if I had any other health issues, I told the advisor that I am Autistic, and he replies telling me "I can understand that".
Seems like a snarky comment about me being Autistic, based on the conversation we were having.

This company does not even deserve 1 star

This company works on behalf of British Gas chasing bills. Problem is they don't have a clue, very rude, aggressive and intimidating.
I have been contacted previously by this company when the bill has been paid directly to British Gas and they still keep chasing - just to ensure they get their payment from British Gas. Anyway they are causing British Gas to have a very bad reputation and customers to move on and find alternative sjuppliers.

Gyuzel Miroslavov

Very disappointing experience.
I was contacted and asked to pay money that I do not owe. I have never signed a contract, agreed to any services, or authorised any charges with this firm.
Instead of clear explanations, I received payment demands without proper evidence.
This has caused unnecessary stress and wasted time. I would not recommend this firm based on my experience.

Absolutely atrocious

Absolutely atrocious. Took 17 days to respond to an email offering settlement then gave me 7days from 30th Dec to 6th Jan to reply supplying evidence when most avenues were closed. Now sending threatening emails even though my balance is zero. Unprofessional, unnecessary intimidatory, deliberately harassing tactics.

Chasing "Zombie Debts" with No Proof & "Corrupt" Files

I am currently dealing with Flint Bishop regarding an alleged British Gas debt. My experience has been a masterclass in how to try and intimidate a consumer without having the actual paperwork to back it up.
Here is their playbook, based on my case:
The Threat: They threaten a CCJ for a substantial amount for a period dating back years.
The Stall: When I legally requested the Contract and Default Notice (under CPR 31.14), they couldn't provide it. They admitted they were "seeking instructions" from their client.
The "Glitch": When pressed for the evidence, I received emails with attachments that were either "corrupt," "fake," or simply spinning wheels that wouldn't load. It appears they are trying to "tick a box" to say they sent documents, without actually having them.
They seem to rely on people being too scared to fight back. When you actually apply forensic scrutiny to their claims—checking dates, requesting signed contracts, and cross-referencing suppliers (I was with another supplier for part of the claimed period)—their case falls apart.
My advice to anyone receiving a letter from them: Do not ignore it, but do NOT just pay it out of fear. Demand "Strict Proof." Demand the signed contract. Check the dates. In my experience, when you shine a light on their evidence, there is nothing there but administrative errors and bluffing.

Robin who dealt with the conveyancing …

Robin who dealt with the conveyancing was helpful all way through the process answering any questions or concerns I had and giving suggestions as to what was next going to happen. So I just waited for the next contact from him and at the completion stage he kept me and my brother up to date with how things were going up too the actual completion

My buyers solicitor

My buyers solicitor, recommended by their estate agent. I’ve worked in the housing industry (estate agency & new homes sector) for over 4 decades. When I heard that a panel solicitor (that’s what agents call them, a selection of solicitors the agents use) I groaned, my seller groaned and their agent groaned because we all knew that the process was going to be slow and painful, yet so unnecessary.
There are 4 people in my chain. The top being moved out of their property for two months now. Our searches took the standard 5 days to arrive with our solicitors, mortgage offers, only three remember, arrived a week to ten days from application.
With that in mind, those items all being back a few weeks from the sale being agreed (23/09). Enquiries weren’t looked at until 23/12, the day solicitors go into Christmas shut down.
The rest of the chain had progressed to contracts signed and sat waiting in December for the panel solicitor to catch up.
My buyer was told by this lot that they would not look at her file until they’d dealt with their December completions! The chain were discussing a completion date of 19th December we should’ve been a December completion! This lot had told my buyer in October that this process would take 6 months to complete! On their website they advertise the usual 8-12 weeks conveyancing time, can be done in as little as 2,4,6 weeks if you remember a solicitor works for you and not the other way round.

Now I mentioned panel, when you use a solicitor that your agents point you towards, telling you it will make it easier, DON’T, just walk away and find your own solicitor. A panel solicitor looks at your file once a month, they diary note you, they aren’t proactive because your case is easy money, they get business from the agent, the agent gets a kick back from the solicitor for the business. They work to their own agenda not yours.

After being satisfied by answers to the enquiries 13/01, I am being told that they are not sending out the contract for my buyer to sign until next week (w/c 19/01) and this will be done by donkey aka Royal Mail. But, not until they have sent out the property pack, by post.
How they have worked in this chain has impacted greatly on peoples lives and they are not bothered, weeks to live, not bothered, passed away, don’t get to see your new home, not bothered. The attitude is antiquated and disgusting.
Three other solicitors in this chain dealt with lots of other property sales yet still got us to a position to be able to exchange and complete in December.
But this bunch, don’t even use email.
We are still not exchanged, still have no end date and still losing our sanity, ready to throw it all in and stay put. They don’t care.

DO NOT USE IF VIA AN ESTATE AGRNT RECOMMENDATION.
REMEMBER YOUR SOLICITOR ACTS FOR YOU, YOU HAVE INSTRUCTED THEM TO DO A JOB TO YOUR TIME AND NOT THEIRS.

Sale of property

In the early stages, it wasn't clear who was our main contact and we didn't receive an email with documents attached which was crucial for the sale to progress and it was sometime before this was chased. I had a good relationship with the buyers and luckily we were able to keep each other up to date with the progress and what was needed next. On exchange day, Carla was good at chasing the buyers solicitor and notified me of this.

Even putting spin on Trust Pilot

Yet again!

I put a negative review on Trust Pilot.

Got the usual reply.
'Very sorry and we understand how distressing this is and please do contract us at this email address and we will look into it blah blah blah".

So I did re-email the previous email and asked them to sort it out. No reply.

Didn't hear from them for over 8 weeks and then another letter in the post saying the same stuff and now they are adding interest!

So, sorry Flint Bishop, its not distressing in the slightest. you are just incompetent or you have your noses in the British Gas trough!

Only you know which it is?

Don't reply to this, reply to my emails.
