I had my secured credit card closed for…

I had my secured credit card closed for no reason. Then when I requested my money back as I did not owe them any money, the bank told me that it was sent out to my attorney's office in my name, as I asked him to get involved. What the bank did was mail my money not in my name but in my attorney's name to his home address, and his wife cashed the check, and I am still waiting for my money, and the bank would not supply me a copy of the cancelled check or omit to their error or try to correct it. I am a disabled person and I have leukemia. This is not acceptable.

Horrible Customer Service

Horrible Customer Service, No Feedback, and Rude Responses. When I expressed my concerns, the response was dismissive, stating that as a private bank, they can do as they please with my money.

Jainish Patel

jainish patel! he has spectacular costumer service. I visited on my birthday to deposit a check, and a week later i received a letter in the mail from Jainish Patel. He wrote a handwritten note to me wishing me a happy birthday and thanking me for making FNBO a part of my day. Jainish Patel is very dedicated and deserves to be recognized!

Not recommended

Would not recommend this card to anyone. Crappy everything. There are a lot of cards out there without the BS. Would not waste your time with this one. Get a reputable bank card. Made All my payments on time. Set up auto pay, and set it up too close to the due date and the payment was literally paid one day after due date, and I revised a $40 fee, which I did not complain about, it was ultimately my fault, but then they lowered my credit limit to just above what I owed on the card. Pretty crappy. I have 100% payment history on my credit report and this is how they treat you. The card is paid in full. I will never use it again. It does not cost a dime to be descent. And I will no longer give them a penny of my business.

FNBO not for me

Was trying to obtain a home equity loan, which in retrospect probably wasn’t going to work for what I wanted to do with it anyway. Spoke to “Sara” who informed me they couldn’t approve the loan as my credit score was too low by about 6 points. Based on the credit info she had at that time, that was a legit decision. However, I was in the process of getting a rapid rescore for my credit and I tried to explain the new score should be back later that day. She just kept repeating that a certain credit bureau was what they used and they had to go with that info. Yeah, I get that, but what about later? The rescore was considerably higher. I passed that info on to my initial contact (did not have Sara’s info unfortunately). Info may not have been passed on to her I suppose, but there was definitely no call back. I found Sara to be polite, yes, but she was also dismissive and was either not listening or just didn’t care. I’m sure everyone at FNBO isn’t like that, but I would not use them in the future. Even my initial contact wasn’t as friendly as I’ve known her to be. They both made me feel rather stupid (ok, I don’t know anything about this stuff, so yes, I probably did sound stupid). I also felt embarrassed by my situation; I had asked Sara about some credit card balances to see if they reflected the balance after I paid them down or if it was still the old balances. I wasn’t disputing the info she had, and yes, I had credit cards with high balances before I paid them down, but the way she “discussed” this with me was abrupt and she seemed way too eager to get off the phone. I felt as if I were ridiculous for even asking about this loan. Again, I was embarrassed. I know our perceptions can be off sometimes, so even though I felt like I felt, I’ll cut her some slack. The not listening part was the big issue. I don’t care that I didn’t qualify for the loan at that point, but ma’am I’m trying to tell you that my circumstances were about to change. Finally I just thanked her for looking into it and ended the call. The whole call left a bad taste in my mouth so I will not plan on working with FNBO in the future. There’s plenty of other banks etc to go to that don’t have a Sara.

This company is horrible

This company is horrible. Absolutely no one to speak to if you need problem resolution. They don't even care if your credit card is used fraudulently. It takes multiple phone calls and waiting on hold to report it. Stay far away.

I just got $200 in credit card fees for nothing

I just got $200 in credit card fees for buying $20 dollars in crypto.. lol seriously??? A “cash equivalent fee” then because I had less than $20 in my savings they “decided” to close my account for inactivity. I keep all my money in checking… thousands.. then on top of that they disconnected my crypto link to my bank account. Basically these people think that my money is theirs lol… f@ck you. Im closing all my accounts, my credit cards and you lost a high value customer. Good job..

Amtrak credit card

I received the credit card on January 3, 2023. I "activated" it immediately. I'd applied for it on October 6, 2022. I received a text message from them on January 9 for me to call them. They said I was 3 months late paying my credit card. They charge you a 99 and your payment starting on the date that you apply for the credit card. I said I just got it 6 days ago. I said they needed to reset the annual start date to January 3. They said no. I said they needed to give me back $99/4 for starting billing me three months for the annual fee before I received the card.

Worst customer service

Worst customer service I have experienced in the last 50 years. Issue was caused by an undisclosed data breech at FNBO in 2022 which required me to recently get a new card. During the process they locked me out and refused to let me speak to a Mgr. It's been 2 weeks since they promised to issue me the paperwork which they were going to require me to go to my bank to verify I exist. I want to go thru the process so I can cut their fancy Premier Card in pieces and return it.

ACCOUNT SUDDENLY CLOSED

Got a notification from my credit monitoring service that by FNBO account was closed by credit grantor. No communication whatsoever from FNBO on this matter until a week later. They didn’t give me a specific reason for closing the account, just a generic letter of one of the reasons it may be. My credit score and credit situation is better now than it was 2 years ago when I received the card. I will never do business with FNBO again.

FNBO was originally my BP/Amoco credit…

FNBO was originally my BP/Amoco credit card that I've had for like 20 yrs. Today 11/16/23 I got a letter informing me that FNBO had closed our account on 10/31/23 because "we haven't used our cards for 22 months". No notice, late letter, nothing mentioned on their website about using cards or desire to close our accounts. Screwed our credit score that we were so proud of-820 to 750. Find a better bank that values their customers is my recommendation.
Addendum 12/6/23: FNBO reinstated our account "after further review". Hopefully it won't hurt our credit score anymore. Thank you FNBO for putting our account back in place.

I called FNBO to report that a fraudulent account had been opened in my name- using my personal and contact information. I waited on hold for a total of 50 minutes only to have a CSR finally answer my call and later essentially refusing to assist me in any way in this matter. Not an ounce of empathy nor any accountability to uphold their fiduciary responsibility when presented evidence of a crime. I have sent 5 emails to their service and fraud departments and have 0 responses. My next calls will be to the CFPB, who collected a $32mm fine against them. Do NOT engage in business with companies that are shady and don't care in the least in meeting their obligations.

Review before you go with FNBO - bill is not clear and they're misleading!!

I've been a card member with this business since 2017 where most times it's been good but lately last year the way they hold the balance of my charges keeps to be transferring over then when credits come into play from last period doesn't cover the whole charge that was paid off therefore then I get the extra charge back to me and the way they produce their statement is soooo messed up and not readable the way the I would it logically. I asked them to close my account once the unknown charges that I felt got messed over this business is paid off and it's now. They don't communicate with customers how I could have handled this if I didn't want to see future surprise charges because they AS-S-U-ME that I got it figured out when they could have helped their customers explaining things clearly but they didn't because as long as they get their money that's what matters!

I was charged $89.00 for 2023/2024 Best Western Annual Membership Fee.When I tried to cancel this charge ,I was told I could not cancel because their was another charge made after the Membership Fee charges.I never had another bank do anything like this.
Some banks will cancel even after a month.
The statement that includes the $89.00 charge statement is still open and the due date to be paid has not come yet

FNBO did not notice or do anything about fraudulent charges 480.00 on my debit card! The name used with the debit card was NOT mine. The bank gave them the funds. I didnt see it as I am extremely busy working and foolishly trusted FNBO to be professional and keep an eye out on all my accts. They DID NOT and will not refund the fraudulent charges back to my acct. BE WARNED ABOUT THIS BANK

I have the FNBO JAL card

I have the FNBO JAL card, which is a mileage card for Japan Airlines. I use it to travel to FE Asia and SE Asia.

The card gets repeatedly turned off for "fraud" when I make air reservations while in ASIA. That's right, an Asian travel card that repeatedly gets turned off for making air ticket purchases in Asia.

I've been around and around with their really poor customer support and they won't resolve the issue.. I have to repeatedly leave them messages to turn the card back on.

THey say "oh... you need to answer your cell phone to use the card" I say ok are you going to simultaneously send out messages to my Thai, Cambodian and Vietnamese phone numbers depending upon which country I'm in that day?

Of course the answer is no.

On top of all this the card has foreign transaction fees. Pure comedy.

SO if you're looking for a far east Asian airline mileage accrual credit card that you can't reliably use while traveling in Asia ... AND has foreign transaction fees and rude customer service that asks that you bend to their will and not the other way around... by all means... this is the card for you.
