Purchased a used fiesta gearbox. Bearing collapsed after 600miles but outside of 3 month warranty. Now need another. My own fault for trying repairs on the cheap .The risk of buying used gearboxes.... See more

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY PLEASE…

DONT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY PLEASE READ
First i found the parts from this company on EBAY, when i called the company to ensure its genuine company, sales person Ben said if you order on the phone we will give you 3 months warranty(via ebay you get 30 days) so I ordered the parts for my car and when the parts arrived my local garage tested and it was not in working condition. I straight away returned the parts paid postage myself and when i call them after few days asking for refurned they refused and said one of the part is not what we sent originaly(See how they Rip customer a trick). Obviously i didnt have any evidence to prove either. Long story short they did not refund me for that part at all after so many calls and emails Ben said our MD is on leave and will be back after few weeks making rubish excuses. I suggest do not buy direct always involve/paypal, mistake i did and a lesson learned.

Avoid this company at all.

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!
Purchased part that suppose to be used but fully working, find out this is part from after crash/accident car and there is many many issues with it, far away from used fully working part. Furthermore received different serial number while I have clearly requested certain serial number, and been asking for confirmation about this prior payment. While tried to make contact and any agreement to sort this out been told same thing, and finally ignored.

Ordered a reconditioned engine from…

Ordered a reconditioned engine from Ford Spares Ltd, told me 1-3 days for delivery, 9 days later still no delivery and never called me to keep me updated, it is £800 not £20 and I had to constantly chase updates as to where my engine was, tried to blame it on the couriers saying they had delivered it to the wrong address, who would just take delivery of a paletised engine knowing they had not ordered it ??
Five days after the 'courier delivered it to the wrong address' still no delivery to my mechanic, I called and asked for Ben who had been dealing with it to call me back as soon as possible or I would be forced to cancel the order, no call back again, called them again the next day for Ben to tell me I had cancelled the order the day before and my money would take three days to be refunded.
Gained my money under false pretenses, I do not believe they even had the engine and lied to buy time while they tried to source one, I mean, come on what courier company would deliver to the wrong address and then leave it there over the weekend before collecting it again ?
Not to be trusted

We have apologised that the engine was sent to the wrong address. It was explained to you that this was down to the courier and not ourselves because they mixed up 2 of the letters on your post code. I received a message from a colleague to say you didn't want to wait any longer and you wanted a refund so we processed this for you straight away. We apologise again if this was not what you wanted? We say refunds take 1-3 days to process because we do not control how fast the funds transfer from one account to another, this is down to the card provider companies. All we can do is process a refund as quickly as possible (the same day it is requested) which is what we did.

Poor Customer Service

I brought a fiesta engine over the phone with someone called ben who was very friendly and helpful for £357 but before the engine could arrive I lost my expertise’s that was going to fit the engine so I called up Ford Spares and explained my situation and asked what my refund options were, I was told that if I didn’t sign for the engine on delivery when they received it back someone would give me a call up to arrange a refund but I wouldn’t get my delivery fee back (£47.99) which I was happy to swallow. A week later I still hadn’t heard from anyone so I checked my Credit Card and I had been refunded £192 without anyone calling me like I was told they would. I called them up and I was told that I’d inherited delivery cost twice and there is a 20% restocking fee on all refunds.
I explained that I had no access to their refund policy at the time and as I ordered it over the phone I called the same number to find out their refund policy and no-one explained I would have to pay delivery fee twice and there was a 20% restocking fee.

I have since checked their website and accept that this is there policy but it wasn’t ordered online as I didn’t have access to a computer at the time, everything was done over the phone and this was not explained when I called up to ask for their refund policy.

The person on the phone showed no empathy or care to what I was saying to them and just said that the policy and it was on the invoice that came with the engine.
I then explained again that I was told not to sign for the engine on arrival so I never saw the invoice and that it should of been explained to me properly over the phone.

I accept that inheriting two lots of delivery cost could of just been miscommunication over the phone but the 20% restocking fee was never mentioned or discussed. Had this all been communicated and explained correctly over the phone and knowing the costing behind it my decision would of been different.

While I feel that the delivery cost issue could be communication problem/misunderstanding on both sides I don’t think I should of been liable for the 20% restocking fee and that ford spares should of inherited that due to them not providing me with their full refund policy when I called up for it.

I am now £165 in the hole for an engine I’ve never seen and won’t be using or recommending “Ford Spares” to anyone in the future.

We apply a 20% re-stocking fee on unwanted parts because it costs the company time and money for the following:
1. Picking parts and packaging them using materials.
2. Creating invoices and taking payments.
2. Booking in parts with couriers and printing shipping labels.
3. Arranging the return of parts.
4. Unpackaging parts, checking them and then re-stocking them.
5. Processing refunds and creating additional paperwork.

The process throughout was professional.
The goods arrived on time and in good order.
Overall a pleasurable transaction without any difficulty, therefore without hesitation must relay a 100% satisfaction rating for anyone whom requires service from Ford Spares together with my personal "thank you" for what clearly has been a note-worthy experience.

Very poor customer relations

Very poor customer relations. I spoke to a tech guy regarding an exhaust part. I ordered the part which i was told would be the correct part only for it to be wrong. I then spoke to the manager who took 2 days to get another part out to me. AGAIN this was the wrong part.. my response from them was... well i dont know what to do.... i asked for a refund but was told I HAD TO ARRANGE FOR THE ITEMS TO BE SENT BACK which i did. It then took me a further call to them to get my refund... well thats what i thought. After spending £119.98 inc postage, they would only refung £114 claiming thats the total they could refund due to the system and not them. When challenged they told me that i would have to wait umtil the end of summer for the manager to return ???? And then i could request a cheque for the remaining money....... to me this company isnt very professional i would stay well clear of i was you...... it isnt about the £5 its about the principle coupled with the hassel i have had to go through.....

..............

Thanks for your reply however when you speak to a member of staff for over 7 minutes on a premium rate mobile number.... yes it charges you a fortune to speak with them.... to tell them what you need, they still get it completely wrong. Then you have to ring them again.... another call to the premium rate mobile..... there seems to be a picture building here.....
And i still havent recieved a cheque in the post like you said... again poor customer service.... i was told by Ben that i would have to ring ..... on the premium rate number again.... after summer when the boss would be back in order to get a cheque refund........ poor poor poor

Sorry you feel our service wasn't up to standard. You placed an order for an exhaust manifold and received the wrong part. For that we apologise but mistakes do happen from time to time. Instead of waiting for the incorrect part to be sent back to us we sent you out a replacement no questions asked on express next day delivery. I think I would class that as great customer service???
You mention that you had to call us to get your refund, this was because there was no paperwork or any reference to your order in the parcel that you sent back and so it was unclear to the warehouse staff who the parcel was off. However once you did get in touch the refund was processed within 10 minutes....again is this poor customer service???
In response to the comments about your refund you make it out like we didn't want to refund you? If this was the case then you wouldn't have received a refund at all. Instead we refunded you the maximum amount we could as we were unaware at the time that we can only refund up to 115% of the original transaction to cover the postage costs for sending the parts back. This was something that wasn't told to us by our new merchant provider and for that all we can do is apologise.
The premium rate number you rang is through a 3rd party website that you used to find the part, this is nothing to do with ourselves as we only have a landline number which we also state on emails where possible to save customers paying the premium rate the 3rd party websites want you to use.
As for the remaining £5 to cover the cost of sending the parts back - your cheque had already been sent out in the post before you decided to leave us this great review but thanks anyway.
