We went to forgans broughty ferry a week ago. The staff were great, they were friendly , so welcoming and helpful....but the food was awful. Chicken burger was like leather and hardly any salad. It was awful and very expensive! There was dog shit under our table that we didn't see until we were ready to go. There was also dog shit under the table across from us as we started to look around. (Outside of course) we both felt sick and we felt it was the most distgusting experience we have had!!!!

Poor - St Andrews

Dreadful. Ordered a medium rare steak that came blue. Complained to the waitress, got apologies and nothing else. Poor food and poor service at a premium price.

Sadly, Lost It’s Touch - Not Worth The Money

We visited on Saturday afternoon with a party of five, including a six year old. Id say it was around 50% capacity and had plenty of staff around.

Server was lovely however didn’t get our drinks order correct, which when they eventually arrived was missing a glass of rose. It took what felt like an age for this to appear. Three people on the bar.

On ordering food (just mains and sides) it took far too long to arrive and when it did, the food was warm but not hot.

The sliding door was wide open meaning the freezing draft gave me a sore neck and meant we were shivering, especially our six year old. I asked for the door to be closed, they partially closed it (i over heard a waitress saying it was freezing in there) - this did nothing for keeping the food warm.

My burger was lovely although so thin, topped with a brioche bun that was four times as thick meaning it drowned the slimline burger. There was very little relish and also cheese. I’ve had thicker burgers at McDonalds - the entire thing was very dry. Fries lovely albeit total not worth £18.

Onion rings sides were saturated in so much greasy fat as were our six year olds fish goujons - dripping in fact. He got eight chips, two of which were crispy black ones.

My friends had chicken supreme but felt it was nice although also luke warm and the tender stem broccoli was raw - £23 for this. Second drinks order took forever to have our server appear for this.

The last time i was at Forgan’s was a tuesday night at 7pm. It was was completely empty and the food was fabulous, pricey compared to other ferry food outlets but worth it that time. This time a bill of over £150 was not worth it one bit for the service and quality of our food.

Won’t be back sadly. In the Ferry, people talk and this kind of thing needs sorted quickly or you’ll lose your doorstep business. We were next to the till, and all i heard was apology after apology for things that had gone wrong or weren’t right.

I never paid for this meal and my friend refused to let me say something. I hope this reaches the right person. Quite sad, Forgan’s was the place to go for brilliant quality and service that was worth paying for.

No longer our go to place - rip off

Have always loved the quality and service in Forgans it was our go to place for a nice meal.

Last time we went in Jan 2023 it was a disaster. Asked for a glass of red shiraz to be told we only sell it by the bottle. Without being shown a menu and we had just sat down my husband agreed to share the bottle. To our horror it was nearly £70 why were we not told this!

Our steaks were not cooked as we requested and we did not have a good experience at all.

Def won't be back

Average is the word

Average is the word, really disappointing food. My friend and I have tried a couple of times and both times the food was just ok. I think some training is required Front of House, it took ages to get served, I think the problem is that there are 3 split areas that staff are working, the bar, Mitchell's cafe and the main restaurant, confusing overlap. I ordered a Ceaser salad and the chicken was dry 2 whole breasts just off the grill, no care taken, I know some people like a hot ceaser salad but I don't, makes the lettuce limp. The croutons were huge lumps of toasted bread that didn't seem to have any oil on them, the parmesan cheese was at the bottom of the bowl so I didn't find it until I managed to make my way through the chicken and lettuce, the sauce was ok, just no excuse really for an easy salad like this.I was paying a tenner for it too.Sorry Forgans I won't be back.

Forgan's Broughty Ferry, Dundee

I will never go there to eat again. I ordered a pastry dish suitable for vegetarians. I received two thin filo pastry cases with just a few vegetables in. It came with an over dressed salad that made your eyes and throat smart. I was unable to eat this mess. My husband ordered salmon and found it dry. It took over half an hour to come, could have been made in ten minutes. I was disgusted at this over priced. Chef? Do not eat there.

Nice place for a lunch or a party with friends. Staff very pleasant but could have dealt better with our orders
Food took a long time and when it arrived it was cold, so we had to send it back. Tried the beer tasting with 3 different beers, and one of the beers was flat/undrinkable. The waiter proposed to get the manager, but we declined as we thought a flat beer could be handle by her rather than having the manager over.
