I wouldn't recommend working for fosse…

I wouldn't recommend working for fosse at the mansfield/ashfield branch. I was there for 7 months and the office just messed me about constantly. They were constantly changing my rota, taking shifts of me 12hrs prior with no communication or notice, constantly bullied me. When I handed in my notice, they told me that I didnt give enough notice when I never saw a notice timeframe in my contract or employee handbook and they told me that they'd be considering put on my dbs that I put vulnerable adults at risk, even though I made sure that every call that I completed only had prn meds or no meds at all and over 24hrs for them to cover my future calls. I was on a no zero hour contract so legally i didnt have to give any notice.

Disgusting home care providers

This must be the worst healthcare company ever. They give you times for your visit and very rarely turn up on time. Most of the carers that come tell you they are fed up with the company because they change their daily routine all the time and given extra visits without prior notice making them late all the time. Some of the carers have been poorly trained and put to work on their own to early. It's sad to leave a poor review as some of the carers are very good and do not deserve a poor review themselves. It's the company that are to blame for bad organisation and should be investigated by the adult care team at Nottingham county council and the care quality commission, i will be making official complaints to both of these organisations. They should do unannounced checks on this company and take statements from carers in private and contact clients without the company's prior knowledge. Shame on you for treating I'll and elderly people in this way.

If I could give no stars I would

If I could give no stars I would, worked for this company for a week, you get trained on zoom for 4 days and one of them days is medication training! One day in house practical training and then off you go for 2 shadow shifts if that. You shadow young lasses that are like 17, wear fake nails etc. some have more than a professional relationship with the service users and they slag new carers off in-front of them and tell the office they don’t want to be put with new carers! Go out on a double round with a carer who started at exactly the same time as me (I’ve got many years experience in care) but that’s not the point we were both new to the company. Made to do this round as 2 brand new carers and expected to know everything, called the office 3 times to explain that I do not feel comfortable doing this and they said they would sort it and never did! You don’t get shadow shifts for the single calls either you are just expected to go and do it. Shifts get changed with in a matter of minutes, got to a call and the carer I was on with called and said she couldn’t get uber so I had to drive 15 minutes and get her to then go back to the individuals property. Staff don’t give you enough time to go through medications properly on the phones and just expect you to know what you are administering so you feel very uncomfortable. Families hate new carers and slag them off because they don’t like change and ring the office to complain, I’m sorry but everyone has to start somewhere and who else if going to look after your family member! You work from 6:45am to 11:30 sometimes with no time for anything to eat and by the time you’re home you have not time to breathe and dread going back for another shift. Offie is awful they make it sound amazing when you go for the interview but it really isn’t please don’t put yourself through the dress and anxiety of it because it’s not worth it! BAD COMPANY TO WORK
FOR AND BAD COMPANY TO CARE FOR YOUR FAMILY! Oh and to also add that then you start you get told to pick your uniform from a filing cabinet full of old staff members used uniforms, you don’t get brand new uniform, got it home and there was dirty gloves and tissue in the pocket 😷

I would strongly advise anyone…

I would strongly advise anyone considering working for Fosse Healthcare in Lincoln to seriously reconsider. My experience with this company has been extremely disappointing, stressful, and at times deeply concerning.

One of the most alarming issues I encountered was being asked to work alone despite not having confirmation that my DBS check had been returned. From my understanding, this should not happen under proper safeguarding procedures, and it made me feel both uneasy and unsupported. There was a clear lack of communication around this, and I was never properly informed about my status before being placed in that position.

I was also expected to travel to Sleaford and work alongside someone I had never met before. Not only was this uncomfortable, but communication was very difficult due to a language barrier. To make matters worse, I was left sitting in his car for nearly 2 hours unpaid while he carried out single calls. This was completely unacceptable and made me feel like my time and wellbeing meant nothing. There was no consideration given to the fact that I have children at home and responsibilities to return to, and the amount of travel expected was never made clear in my contract.

There are ongoing issues with pay, which is incredibly frustrating and adds financial stress on top of everything else. The rota is constantly being changed, often at short notice, with little regard for personal circumstances such as childcare. This lack of stability makes it nearly impossible to plan your life outside of work. What makes this even more shocking is that there are parents working within the office, yet there seems to be no understanding or empathy toward care workers who are trying to balance work and family life.

Another major issue is the constant contact. Despite being provided with a work phone, I was repeatedly contacted on my personal number—every single day—asking me to take on additional work. Even after clearly saying no, the calls would continue, which felt intrusive and disrespectful of my boundaries and personal time. Instead of feeling supported, I felt pressured and overwhelmed.

All of these issues combined had a significant impact on my mental health. The constant uncertainty around shifts, incorrect pay, lack of communication, and feeling of being undervalued created a very stressful working environment. It leads to anxiety, burnout, and a feeling that you are not respected as an employee or even as a person. When you are constantly worried about last-minute changes, being pressured into shifts, or not being paid correctly, it becomes mentally exhausting. Over time, this kind of environment can seriously affect confidence, wellbeing, and overall job satisfaction.

Care work is already a demanding role, and employees should feel supported, respected, and valued. Unfortunately, in my experience, this was not the case here. Despite claims that they appreciate their staff, the reality felt very different.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a supportive or stable place to work.

The office staff have no clue on how to…

The office staff have no clue on how to manage the service and the carers. You get treated with little to no respect, shifts added, deleted whenever they get a whim. Advertised rate is £12+, but you won’t get paid that. You get paid £6 per 30 minute call. I give up 9 hours a day for this company and earn £70 pre tax. You give them your availability and they expect you to work every day of it. You ask for a day off and you get very poor experienced office people yelling at you and then take you of next weeks rota and demand you come into the office for a return to work.
It’s a disgusting place to work and should be shut down. I feel so so so sorry and full of shame for the customers using this company

It is true what you read on others…

It is true what you read on others reviews , they get you on false promises , I have a family member that use fosse care hykeham , at first they sent all good carers always on time and so caring , but after about six months it all change , I have had to ring my family members social worker 3 times + I must ring fosse care office at least twice a week asking can you tell me when my family members carer is , they are never on time the past couple of months they have been late by at least a hour and a few times nearly two hours , I have spoken to some of my family members carers , they have told me that the office keep changing who they go and see last minute as they get new people starting and they need to go and see them before the ones already in the books , there are a few carers that work for fosse that don’t really want to work , if you pay for 15 minutes you will be lucky to get 10 minutes care , my family member pays for half an hour and they have had a few carers that do just over 15 minutes and go , I have rang many a time about that but it goes in one ear and out the other , my family member had one girl come, got them a drink and just sat there just playing with there phone and after 20 minutes say I am going now and then sit in her car for ten minutes on the drive , I had it all on cctv and it was reported not just to fosse to the social worker , there are a few other carers that will do as little as possible as well and fosse know who they are , like I have told fosse care in the office they have a few bad apples that gives fosse care a bad name , after complaining to the office they got in contact to my family member saying who do you like out the carers , they were told, then for a couple of weeks they were great, now back to same old same old names in a hat and have who you get given , so your loved one can’t make friends with the carers as you don’t know from one day /week/month who you are getting , I print out the care sheet with carers every day but they changed it yet again for my family member this morning , think the office staff needs some kind kick up there butts as there are to many chiefs not enough Indians + if you try and ring the office you might just get a answer machine that is so full it won’t take anymore messages , you don’t get calls saying your carer is going to be late or what time they should be with you , please be careful and make sure you read all the reviews before you pick your care team for your loved one’s care . 15/10/2025 ……I am totally fed up with this company , when my mums regular carers are off things just got to pot , what with time keeping , and changing the timetable , like this morning , mum was to have a carer at just after 9, then 9.30 came still no carer , no phone call no nothing , I got on to the porthole to find out what was what to then find out they changed my mums carer to a later time and that was 10.15 and she was late then , I rang the office to complain and spoke to a lass called Donna she said she was in charge , she said it’s the carers fault she is late not just today yesterday as well, Donna said she will get in contact with the carer to find out why , I said okay and while I am on the phone can I please ask you not to send carers with strong accents as my mum is hard of hearing and can’t understand them , my mum likes a natter with her carers when they come . Donna said yes she will sort it. I saw my mums carer was at my mum’s so I spoke to her and told her what was said to Donna and that they put the blame on her being late , then to find out that my mums carer had her timetable changed by the office this morning , this isn’t the first time I have rang about time keeping , yes we know there might be an emergency but a phone call would be nice , we pay for a service and it needs to be sorted . Fosse care hykeham have lost a good few carers to different companies no wonder if they treat them like that and pass the book on them. Please read my review before you pick this company as I think they have a book of excuses at the side on the phone and pick one when people complain . Thank you .

Worked for this company and what can I…

Worked for this company and what can I say, I was absolutely gob smacked with the lack of "Compassion, Lack of training (With some people Who they employ..... Don't even know how to make a basic sandwich). I put in many"Reports of " Near miss" regarding Clint safety, all ignored!! Most staff will sit in their car's after only being in the property for 5 minutes (but clients will be charged for the full 30 minutes). Female Clint's being MADE to shower/bath with male staff even when they feel totally uncomfortable doing so!! As Fosse don't care as long as "Someone attends" the visit so they can receive Thier payment. 99% of their staff don't/can't understand English!! **Watch out for a Claire A giving 5* reviews, these are all fake!! I could go into detail of what I witnessed whilst working for Fosse Healthcare, but as you can appreciate, this would not let me do so on here. My only advice would be...If you have a loved one? Stay away from Fosse Healthcare!!!

Staff go the extra mile again and again, led by a great team manager

Fosse Health Care Staff go the extra mile again and again. They aim to create a homely environment for their clients. Vijay Lad and the team he leads is exceptional. They have recently painted a clients home and created wall spaces which provide a really positive and interactive place for their client to live and feel calm. The team care for their clients and their needs. Vijay Lad leads in a way which promotes a strong, caring and effective team around the client balancing the clients current needs and putting things in place for future potential to grow.

PLEASE DO NOT USE FOSSE HEALTHCARE DERBY

Some management staff treats service users with no respect. I witnessed how cruel she was to a male service user who has dementia. She threw tops over his head and laughed at him seeing him got frightened! I was also told by a female service user that this same manager (from derby office) showed her a dirty video after she got out of a shower, instead of helping her getting dressed!
PLEASE, DO NOT use this healthcare company!

If could leave lower star I would

If could leave a lower star I would.Do Not Use this agency I attended a interview today in local jobcentre 10 minutes early as required just to be left waiting cause the person I was supposed to see couldn't be bothered to even see me and walked out without telling a soul, not even telling other staff members he/she was leaving which is disgusting. If can't do the job you shouldn't be doing it.Thanks for letting me know you were so kind, being sarcastic there by the way cause travelled a long way to be there. It won't be happening again I can tell you this much. All you had to say was that you've got to cancel our appointment, but that was to difficult and if wasn't for a work coach I would still be there. To anyone who thinking of applying for this agency DONT it's unreliable.

What a disgusting company ,Ashfield and…

What a disgusting company ,Ashfield and Mansfield fosse are disgusting the way they treat service users.
They don't keep to the times or promises, you get fobbed off when you ring the office to tell them about sending carers at the wrong times and when social visits are arranged for a time, they feel they can send their carers to what times they want.
I'd avoid this company as its really bad
Absolute rubbish management who couldn't organise a pi## up in a brewery
So.glad we have got rid of them, all they did was cause distress
And they kept suspending my husbands showers when he was due to come out of hospital, meaning he had to stay in longer
Disgusting

*AVOID* THIS COMPANY IS AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. CARERS DONT SHOW UP AT THE CALLS OR SEND CARERS WHO DONT COME IN DUE TO DOGS. CERTAIN CARERS ARE EXTREMELY RUDE AND JUDGMENTAL! PEOPLE ARE BEING LEFT IN URINE, NOT BEING WATERED OR EVEN OFFERED FOOD. THE ONE THAT HAS HAD FOOD HAVE BEEN GIVEN COLD CRUMPETS WITH NO BUTTER AND A SLICE OF CORNBEEF! CERTAIN STAFF MEMBERS DISCUSS OTHER CLIENTS CONTANTLY I COULD NAME A FEW AND TELL THEM NAMES AND ADRESSES. PEOPLE HAVE HAD MALICIOUS ACCUSATUONS ABOUT THERE FAMILY MEMBERS WHO LIVE IN THE PROPERTY SOCIAL SERVICES HAVE BEEN CONTACTED ON FAMILY MEMBERS DUE TO THE STATE OF THE PROPERTY WHICH THEY DO NOT CLEAN! THE MANAGER IN THE NG8 AREA IS RUDE YOU CANT HAVE ANY CONVERSATIONS WITH HER OR SHE PUTS THE PHONE DOWN IF YOU EXPRESS YOUR VIEWS! IVE WORKED IN A FEW CARE COMPANIES AND BY FAR THIS IS THE WORST IVE EVER WITNESSED!

Fossehealth care AVOID

Fosse healthcare are the worse care company around . Do not work at gladstone house where if your relatives are being cared for, they are not being cared for properly . Some staff are lovely but some staff are awful to some of the service users . Management is a total joke and it is being run by apes that brush complaints under the carpet . My relative was being cared for in the assessment unit and the staff did not have a clue what they was doing . One girl did have a strong odour of alcohol on her when I stood near her . Avoid at all cost . Staff that are hired by fosse are treated very badly . AVOID working for these clowns

Terrible terrible company

Terrible terrible company.
The ladies in the office have no idea what they are doing. Especially the manager lady. You will hear them call the clients names aswell as other members of staff. You will not be paid correctly, you will be any all over the place and if you need any help do t expect any one to answer the phone. They have reported numerous times to the CQC and they are very aware of what is going on and they are being watched. If you want to work with scruffy carers that sit in their cars and smoke and a clueless management then by all means get a job here. Ps there’s minimal training.
