Worst lifts I have ever used…

Worst lifts that I have ever had the misfortune of having to use. I live in a 19 storey tower block with two of Foulds lifts, one for the even floors and one for the odd floors.
In this week alone both lifts have been off at least one day and the even lift went off yesterday afternoon(Friday) and will not be back on till Monday at the earliest, as is the usual case...a part is needed. The even lift broke on Tuesday afternoon, was fixed Wednesday afternoon, but the odd lift broke Wednesday afternoon, was fixed Thursday, broke again Thursday afternoon leaving someone trapped in it and was then fixed again Thursday afternoon. The even lift broke Friday afternoon and is currently broken at least till after the weekend. The lifts were installed during lockdown. They are not old. The even lift broke twice in the first three days of being switched on. There isn't a week goes by when one or the other,or both are broken. Absolutely shocking firm..

Excellent Service

Having used the services of EA Foulds Ltd over the duration of a four year service and reactive repair contract as the councils’ facilities manager, I have found all staff to be very helpful and proactive with all aspects of the contract.

I work for a local council and have been using Foulds for the majority of our repair work over the last year and they have been nothing short of exceptional in terms of availability, knowledge and professionalism. We have had numerous occasions where an engineer has been out the same day as a lift break down and has had it working within hours.

A Former Employee’s Review of Foulds Lifts

Having worked for this company for four years I feel I have a good understanding of how things run.

They don’t; and neither will your lifts.

Management is terrible. Ego and pride drive a historical business into the ground daily.

With the amount of lift companies about, both local and nationwide, I advise you do some more research. Find someone who will actually help get you up and running.
This company is going nowhere fast and you are better off saving your time and money.

We recently approached Fould Lifts to obtain a quote to repair one of our lifts. A comprehensive and competitive quote was provided at short notice and during the process I found the service support team to be courteous, informative and very understanding of our needs. The support team based in Colne and the engineers who came to site were always very helpful and easy to work with.

My Experience with Foulds

I have dealt personally with Fould's lifts over the last 5 years or more and the previous maintenance manager of our company for several years before that. they have maintained, repaired, and serviced all our sites lifts for many years and kept them running. the service and help I have received from the sales and service teams during my time dealing with them have always been professional and of a good standard, and a special mention to Donna who i know in my experience will go to lengths to assist and ensure the best service for clients. Many Thanks to all at Foulds.

Foulds Lifts provide less-than-adequate…

Foulds Lifts provide less-than-adequate service of the four lifts in our residential building at Park Hill. The lifts are approximately six years old and I believe Foulds have maintained them since new. Despite this every time they break down Foulds claim to ‘be waiting on parts’ often for months at a time and with no updates on timing. They seemingly have never heard of air-freight next day delivery that is available from most parts of the world. For example the main lift in our building was out of service for eight months in 2019. This lift is the only lift to access the service area, bins, accessible car park etc in our building so this was a major inconvenience for most residents. Another lift broke on 24 December 2019 and there has been no sign of repair to it by 15 January 2020.
Foulds engineers have also taken to storing boxes, tools, ladders, ‘lift-out-of-order’ signs etc IN the glass enclosure of our panoramic glass lifts. This crap is completely on view from our gorgeous entrance foyer. Professionalism is not evident with this company.

About as bad as it gets

Used Foulds for commercial lift maintenance for over 10 years with no problems. First lift upgrade done in a couple of weeks with no friction. Second lift upgrade took months because the repair manager (since left) hashed up the whole job, subbed out the work to someone not familiar with the job and didn't have parts required on site. Even with us travelling to Colne to get the parts to keep the job going, we were given the wrong ones. Eventually came to commission the job and inspector found safety brakes had not been in place for years. Foulds said this was out problem even though they had serviced and safety checked the lifts for years. Eventually had them do a safety check after we put the issue right ourselves because Foulds refused to do it. Then demanded payment before they provided the test results. Eventually sued us for non-payment, we countersued and Foulds' MD phoned to apologise and ask us to drop hands. Eventually they ended up paying us for the problems they caused. All agreed and approved by the court. Their solicitor was then surprised when we wouldn't allow the settlement agreement to have provision that we could work with them again.
