This has been a terrible experience
This has been a terrible experience. The bike I received was faulty, after contacting Furosystems, I had to wait over a week for someone to pick up my (dangerously) faulty bike, and had very little contact in between. Manzi who I dealt with has been largely dismissive, with very little detail as to what the next steps would be to fix this problem.
Before the bike was collected, I decided I had given up on this company, and requested a full refund once the bike was received, this was accepted. However, my bike was delivered 3 days ago, and I have had radio silence ever since, any attempt at contact goes without reply. I have no bike, no refund, and no clue what is happening next.
Avoid this company, the built quality is not good enough and they simply do not have a customer service experience. Their phone line rings through for 20 seconds and cuts you off and their email replies are sporadic and undetailed. Maybe you will be lucky and not need to contact them, but I wouldn't take the risk

Turned out was worth the wait
Like other Aventa customers, the wait for the bike was somewhat excessive and communication was sometimes frustrating. That's the bad stuff.
I am not new to ebikes having owned and used since 2005. Things to consider:
My 2005 ebike cost £1500 back then. The battery supplied was only good for around 15 miles at best.
The last ebike purchase prior to this was £2000. The bike was superior but the electrics were substandard by comparison and to cap it all they cannot/will not provide a replacement battery as they have changed the design. As an entirely bespoke design their only suggestion is for me to convert to their new design at a cost of £1000+ per bike (I bought 2)
The Aventa performs flawlessly, is a surprisingly capable hill climber for a 250w hub design and is virtually silent which none of my others have been.
The handlebars are too low for my liking, but you do get used to them, and I personally prefer front hubs because you get all wheel drive and punctures are easier to fix. I also would have preferred Schwalbe Marathon Plus over the inferior Kendas supplied, but it is a fine cycle except for the excruciating saddle which I have replaced with a Rido R2.
I had considered both Van Moof S3 and Cowboy, even putting a deposit on the Van Moof. A quick read of the recent reviews of those cycles show that I had a lucky escape perhaps.
Thanks Furosystems
Be patient
Be patient. I gave in my scooter for repair. It took longer than envisaged but they were courteous and polite throughout and the repair was great.
Escooter needs repairing
Escooter needs repairing. Impossible to get anyone to repair it and furosystems impossible to make contact with.
Please can the advertise repair workshops so you can take your escooter there to be repaired. So frustrating to deal with this company and their products!!
Furo Aventa Max - very happy with this eBike
I ordered an Aventa Max. It arrived in 7 days. It took me around just over an hour to build (and I am technically incompetent).
I did want to raise the handlebars slightly for a more relaxed riding position, so I emailed the Furo support to ask for the correct part and received an answer in a couple of days - their feedback was accurate and I ordered the part on Amazon and fitted it in 10 minutes.
I am very satisfied with this eBike, it is light and well-built with a high-quality finish. The performance is excellent. Overall, a very satisifed customer.
13 mile commute
I recently changed jobs which involved a 13 mile commute each way. I had decided to cycle this but was feeling tired on arrival at work and home on a normal pushbike. I bought the Furo Aventa electric bike for this journey. I have now had the bike for over two weeks and its been absolutely fantastic. I arrive feeling like I have hardly done anything, although I do feel like I am getting some exercise oddly . The bike is well made and looks like a normal bike which I like. I had 2 bolts missing on my front mudguard which Furo sorted after contacting them. All in all I'm very happy with the bike. I had no delivery issues , I ordered first week in July and 2 weeks later it was delivered which I think is quite good. The manual doesnt have section for how to fit the front hydraulic brake but after a quick email to Furo they sent me a link to a Youtube video on how to correctly fit it, I could have foud this myself but never thought to search for it.
My Aventa bike is very well made and it…
My Aventa bike is very well made and it is good to ride ,there are however a few small things that i do not like, 1. The saddle for me is uncomfortable, 2 the handelbar is not easy to fix anything on to it because of its tapered cross section.
I hope this feed back is useful.
Furo X folding bike
While I appreciate that it was partly out of Furo X's hands, as Brexit created additional delays to delivery, the delay was far in excess of what I was led to expect at the time of placing the order. I did appreciate that Furo X very promptly refunded the additional import charges.
The bike is a good ride but the folding is rather clunky and the instructions not the clearest. I think it would be better if a clip on strap was provided to hold the wheels when folded, the velcro strips provided are very fiddly.
You'll wait and wait for your bike. But is it worth the wait? Yes.
Look, I waited a long time for this bike. If I have any complaint it's that they should have been a bit more forthright about how long the manufacturing process could take. And also that they should not use UPS for deliveries, as they're not reliable (they lost the first delivery). That said, was it worth the wait?
Yes, it was worth the wait. Effortless gliding uphill has made long journeys around London a lot more pleasurable and relaxed. Oddly, the extra power also means I don't feel quite as worried when riding on the roadside. Everything about it is made with quality materials. My bike came with all trimmings, lights, indicators, rear rack, mudguards etc., which meant it was ready to go immediately. I should also say that, though you'd have more chance of getting through to God on the phone, their response to emails is usually decent and courteous. I haven't always found that when dealing with other companies.
A few minor possible shortcomings. It's a little bulkier than I expected, and not easy to pick up. This would perhaps be easier if they designed it to click shut on folding (like my old Brompton does). The instructions given aren't terribly detailed, and aren't clear about everything. For example, if the indicator remote doesn't work, you're supposed to replace the battery within. I bought the battery, opened the remote as instructed, and found no space for a battery. Which makes sense, because it is charged from a USB cable. So I don't know what to do about that.
Otherwise, if you want a good electric folding bike, and you're prepared to wait for a bit, Furo is a good option.
Defective battery, slow reply from customer service
We purchased the Furo X MAX in November and it took 3 months to arrive. We were very happy with it for a while, for approx weekly leisure rides, but after a couple of months gap we came to use it and it will not turn on. Inspection of the battery shows a displaced connector surrounded by what looks like melted plastic. This is clearly a defective (and potentially dangerous) battery, and I note that other reviews report a similar issue.
We have sent messages and emails but several days later have had no reply. There is also no reply to repeated phone calls (in their stated office hours).
Update 10 Aug 2021
Shortly after posting this review, we received a call - they have now sent out a replacement battery and collected the faulty one, although the replacement is clearly not new or nearly-new and only has one key instead of 2. This may be because this is what all that was available and it does at least enable us to use the bike.
The explanation provided in the reply to the review is not correct. The battery has always been locked in place when in use. And in any case the issue occurred during a period when the battery was not in use and was not on the bike, so cannot possibly have been caused in the way suggested..

Furo Aventa
I’m happy with the bike. It seems to be well made. The motor gives ample assistance on hills. The seat is quite hard and uncomfortable after a while.
The instruction leaflet did not cover fitting the front disc brakes. The fittings came in a bag with a couple of bolts, washers and spacers. I’m guessing that they have specific positions on the brake, but is not obvious to me. This is an important omission I think.
Adventa Max
Arrived before date indicated but was missing front wheel quick release mechanism which is so frustrating when you are putting it together. Probably spent half an hour going through everything and packaging to see if I was the culprit. Once I decided it was not my stupidity you have a half finished bike in the middle of your garage that cannot be completed.
Had to make a few calls to get through to customer services and they put one in the post which arrived 4 days later. Whilst an apology was made all rather insincere.
Instructions enclosed not that helpful youtube better but still need not a simple process. Instructions need improvement.
Like the bike now it is up and running. Good fun and looks good.
I have honestly had the most truly…
I have honestly had the most truly awful experience with this company would not recommend to my worst enemy, the bike arrived two months late with damages to the frame and parts missing, I then spent 2 weeks going back and forth with emails on a truly unacceptable customer service situation. Only to find that the would not replace it with a undamaged bike, and offered me a paltry £75 to get a respray to cover the many chips and scratches to the paintwork, and now they expect me to pay for the courier service to return this damaged product before I can get a refund. Never in my life have I seen such bad service!
Please for the love of God do not subject yourself to what I have gone through!
Please look at other company's, there are many that won't treat you this badly.
The Furo bike is a great bike
The Furo bike is a great bike. I have been using it for over a week now for my work commute. I am still experimenting how long the battery really last on different setting powers, but, being afraid to be left without assistance, I charge it every night. The customer service have been great, though they lack on clarity on how long you have to wait for your bike, and other little matters (like the on board computer has more settings than you expect, and yet the owners manual only explain fewer options. I have asked for explanations of the whole options, but they just avoid my request for some reason)
Also, on the website, looked like the bike was coming with an insurance, but when I tried to register, they said I didn't buy one (and there is no option to buy an insurance when you buy the bike)
Nevertheless, I am enjoying my bike very much.
Great bike!
Aventa250 Pure
I read some of the reviews about Furosystems delivery problems, but I went ahead and ordered the Aventa Pure it arrived within 4 day's delivered by a helpful guy, it took me about 40 mins to put together with no problems, the first time I tried I was very impressed with the way the motor came in in fact took me by surprise to be honest, so to the first hill that I sometimes struggle when near the top but this bike went up at about 12 mph, without dought I will be using a lot more instead of the car, the only very small thing is the saddle is a bit hard but will change that, money well spent I think
Excellent Product
Excellent Product. Attractive design and well-built. I'm truly happy with the product- it was well worth waiting over 10 weeks for delivery. Only complaint - the INSTRUCTION MANUAL included in the pack is totally INCOMPLETE/ INADEQUATE. Otherwise ☆☆☆☆☆ all around. Well done guys!

Furo x max ebike
I have to say I’m really enjoying my new Furo ebike: so far, so good! Although I’ve only been out on it a few times, I’ve felt very confident riding out in the middle of the road, which I wouldn’t have been so bold to do so on a normal bike. I like the fact that I can pull away from traffic fairly easily, or keep up with slow moving traffic – where there might be build up of traffic – it has helped to give me my confidence back, (as I’m now in my 60s). My only gripe is that the front remote and back indicator lights aren’t working, but I have flagged this and currently waiting for a response. Having said that, I can manually access the back lights and set them up for hazard if need be, but at the moment I’m having to do the usual hand signals. Obviously this isn’t any good for night riding at the moment, so until it’s sorted, I won’t be using it during the evenings. Forgot to mention, I practically live on a hill, and that’s the main reason I wanted one, which I have to say, lives up to it’s reputation, as I managed the hill in approx 5mins flat; it normally takes around 15 mins to walk it. Overall I’m very satisfied. Thanks Furosystems 😊
