Yesterday, I submitted my final assignment of the course. Whilst this gives a good feeling that I've completed the course, it's also tinged with a bit of sadness. I enjoyed the course and I've grown... See more

My experience with The British Academy…
My experience with The British Academy of Garden design was immensely fortunate. The staff are very helpful and very patient. They seek to help you grow and thrive, and direct your attention to knowledge you need and what you must improve on.
During my studying of the diploma course, my timeframe altered drastically and had to get the course finished within 2 months for a university application. Mrs. Ferreira was extremely accommodating and helpful in that she made an effort to mark my work as soon as possible and made it a priority in order to help me achieve the diploma in time for university.
Although it was all online, I felt I had very kind people around me helping me on. It was a pleasurable experience and gently introduced me to the world of academic studies and their staff are true professionals that connect with you on a human level.
Thanks again and it was an honour.

PgDip Garden Design
I am still partway through my PgDip in Garden Design but am finding the course really interesting, creative and challenging. The material is in-depth and the course tutor is very helpful. I'm doing the online version, which involves studying in your own time, but the academy is supportive - I don't feel like I'm doing it alone!
Happy Customer

Excellent experience
The college has been extremely welcoming and helpful withy online study. The tutors are always prompt and helpful with their responses toy questions. So far I have thoroughly e joyed my experience.
Mentoring service is efficient and motivating.
I study online at the British Academy of Garden Design. I live in Aruba and English is not my native language. Whenever I have a question or can't find something I have to read or do, or can't understand something, I email my mentor and I get an answer very quickly. The academy also motivates me, offering extra courses online to help. Even when I didn't follow any of them, it made me feel they care and they are pending. This makes me take courage to advance and give my best. Thank you for a top online service.
Flexible and easy to follow
I have recently enrolled on a postgraduate course with the BAGD and so far is all going great. The lessons are clear and easy to follow, there is also extra resources available to expand your knowledge and the tutors are always willing to help. The assessments are also easy to understand, the BAGD provides examples of previous assessments so you can have a clear idea of what is being requested.
The only thing I would suggest for improvement is the fact that all the lessons/reading are fully on screen, and maybe the posssibility of paper copies or printing the lesson could be beneficial for many.
What I value the most is the flexibility this course offers. I can study at my own pace and from the confort of my own home, which makes it compatible with the daily juggles of a working mum.
All in all, I am very happy with the course so far.
Great school
Great school, I highly recommend it. Good prepare learning materials well, lots of help from teachers, they are always helpful. It's worth starting this course if you only love flowers and plants, this school is the basis for starting to design gardens. I recommend it!

The course is really useful for anyone interested in working in garden design. You are coached and guided on many different aspects of design, I had no experience of drawing before the course so it was great to learn how to draw.

A Thorough Grounding
This course is a great foundation to becoming a garden designer. All the essentials are taught and tested through the classroom sessions and assignments. A valuable course
The course has many positives. The content is helpful and provides you with a lot of valuable knowledge. The assignments are varied and enable you to develop your skills through practice. I think they are also pitched at a good level of difficulty, where they are challenging but not too demanding. The feedback you receive on each assignment also helps, as it identifies what you are doing well and what you need to work on.

Postgraduate diploma
Part way through my postgraduate diploma. Online based so I can work at my own pace with good additional support from my tutor when needed. The structure to the assignments is varied and it keeps you interested. I’m excited to learn more and can really see myself building a career in garden design. I’m glad I signed up and highly recommend the course.
Starting my own business
It's been about a year that I finished the Diploma Course at the British Academy of Garden Design. I've been searching for years for this kind of graduation here in Germany, but there is none. As the English Tradition in Garden Design is leading, I submitted. During the course, I've learned everything I needed to start my own business. Garden Design is not very common in Germany, normally the contractors for garden and landscape are making the plans, but a lot of them even don't and are working without plans. It took me a little time to find my first clients, but explaining my work to people at a home fair worked and now I'm enjoying my business with clients. Thank you very much BAGD :)

I'm currently enrolled in the…
I'm currently enrolled in the Postgraduate Diploma in Garden Design (study from home online version). I find that even though the whole course is online, it's a very complete course thanks to all the provided reading material, videos and practical tasks in the assignments. The Student Services Team have been really supportive and helpful, and my tutor gives very good feedback. I also really appreciate the flexibility offered with this course, one has the possibility of putting the course on hold or adding another year if needed, which is a huge relief when juggling between a very demanding full time job, other commitments and studying. Just two negative points in my opinion: the first one, is how time consuming each assignment is. I am completely new to all this, consequently it takes a lot of time for me to understand what needs to be done and how to do it. If one aims to get at least a Merit on the assignment, I find that each assignment is really too time consuming and it becomes frustrating. The second point, is the grading process which I don't find is fair. You have 4 tasks per assignment, and for example you can get 3 Distinction and one Merit, and even though you did great on 3 tasks out of 4, the entire overall grade is lowered down to Merit. I don't find this reflects correctly on the quality of the submitted work. Other than these two points, I would definitely recommend this course!
