Sam recommended and installed a…

Sam recommended and installed a networked wireless (Deco) solution at our house after we had fibre installed. He had to do a couple of visits to sort it out (due to having to wait on Chorus and other tech people to do their thing). The solution is working really well with greatly improved performance when multiple devices are on the wireless network. Sam was friendly and knowledgable.

I had an appointment with Sarah…

I had an appointment with Sarah yesterday and she was able to answer all queries in a timely manner. Sarah is very personable,punctual and very knowledgeable with computers as well as with smart phones. My Vodafone smartphone was preventing me from downloading photos and videos so Sarah worked in good time to use the Google Photos App to enable me to download photos and videos. I am looking forward to seeing Sarah again, and I thank you for helping me find my way around my new smartphone also Sarah. Regards Debbie Hodson

Thank you Sarah for the work you did on my laptop it is going so much better now. Monty said you were so efficient he can actually use his emails now. will be in touch with you in a few weeks for a lesson on my laptop.

Computer data wipeout due to Microsoft Windows update

A recent MicroSoft Windows update totally corrupted the entire contents of my laptop rending nothing salvaegable. The contents of one portable back-up disk updated daily using File History was corrupted due to Windows update malfunction and was also unusable. Some of the contents of the second portable back-up disk using weekly backup on syncback were salvageable - some files had backed up to the most recent date, while many others showed no back-up for over a year - despite all being backed up at the same time. I now face months of weekends and evenings trying to reconstruct documents including drafts of novels. I've lost 10 months' work on some projects. The loss is incalculable. Plus technician time, work down time. I'm a small business. I frequently asked Geek technicians (whom I've used for three years) if two portable backups (they set them up) were all I needed and I was assure it was. I strongly recommend that Geeks very proactively ensure that their clients understand there is a real threat of losing all data due to malfunctioning while Windows is updating in the background and that they ensure that all their clients are strongly encouraged to back up everything to the Cloud/Dropbox and do not rely on multiple portable back-up systems.

Julian arrived on time minus taking…

Julian arrived on time minus taking breakfast , made him a cup of tea while he did worked on my laptops . Friendly , excellent work and good communication skills .
Made good recommendations which I will follow though .

Poor service.

I'd had good service from Geeks on Wheels when they called to fix my Mac and iPad. But when my wife's PC needed attention another technician called. My wife's computer operates in English and Thai - all the hardware adjustments are labelled in Thai. He was unable to locate the necessary buttons to press to make adjustments - although one would have thought that he would have been able to identify them from their configurations - but rather than admitting that he couldn't fix the problem (slow running) he filled in his report as 'No good - computer dead.'
No discount, no refund.
Poor service!

Aaron installed a mesh wireless…

Aaron installed a mesh wireless network. In doing so he had to contact Vodafone to obtain IP number details. Vodafone - in typical style - spent over an hour being no use at all. All the while Aaron was extremely patient and, in the end, managed to find a solution.
