My experience was great. Thank you for letting me relax, at least a bit, knowing my baby is healthy

I took the NIPT Pro test with GenePlanet in Medellín, Colombia, and when the results arrived, they indicated that I was having a boy, but the ultrasound showed a girl. We contacted them to inform them that the test was wrong, and since they made a mistake with the sex, we no longer trusted the chromosome count or the reliability of the test. We asked them to repeat it, as parents rely on this test for reassurance about the baby’s health.
We submitted the request four times, and all four times they said there was no need to repeat the test. They offered hypothetical explanations for why it might have been wrong, provided very poor customer support, and made it clear they did not care that the results were incorrect. We had the appointment with the geneticist, who was very kind and professional.
The commercial assistance and customer service were terrible: they did not respond, they sent a generic letter not addressed to my name, and they stopped replying to messages. We, as the parents, were the ones constantly following up. In my experience, I do not recommend taking this test unless risks are identified on the ultrasound.

The company is one of the most advanced and precise DNA testing companies. Furthermore, the fact that they use WGS (Whole Genome Sequencing) makes their product unique in the consumer market. I’m really satisfied with their service and relatively affordable price (being from Europe and paying in Euros, as opposed to dollars in the case of AncestryDNA and FTDNA). However, it should be noted that there’s a minor issue —> it does seem at first that they give rather generic results, then after system error they had, they switched to new, updated results. Because SNPs, which are supposed not to change, were changed back to correct ones (such as earwax type, deodorant usage, sensitivity to cold, etc). This issue should be addressed promptly. All my components in both versions (the initial and the updated one) are European, with an exception of Turkish/Iranian/Caucasian, which was about 4% in previous version and reached record high level in the current version, about 17%. I believe it’s the clue to my East Eurasian ancestry. I’d need to obtain raw data to test it, it costs additional 50€.
If a GenePlanet team member reads this, I’d like to ask for a way their algorithm calculates percentages and will it be possible in future to split between Turkish, Caucasian and Iranian and to introduce even more precise ethnic breakdown.

I trust the results given by your lab and I consider your company generally trustworthy. However, I did not enjoy the whole experience. My sample was received by your lab on the 18th of October, as it is written in the app. Your company says that we should wait approximately 5 weeks until the results. Last Friday on the 7th of November you sent me an email saying my results were ready which was surprisingly exciting to me, as the period is much less than 5 weeks. I looked at them briefly, as I was working that time and couldn’t invest on reading them thoroughly, and I was going to check them and discuss with my doctor at the afternoon of the same day, after work. I opened the app and the results were just gone. Nothing, nowhere to be found. I deleted and reinstalled the app, thinking that maybe it was just a bug, but nothing again. So I called the company in Slovenia and talked with an employee, who told me that the results were actually taken back! And that this happened because some, not all of them, but just some “had an issue”. Of course I didn’t learn what the issue was. I asked him when I could expect the correct results, since I was about to discuss them with my doctor, and he just told me that “maybe next week”. Now here I am, no results are given to me, not knowing what to expect and you asking me to rate my experience. That is what I didn’t enjoy at all.

The waiting period was longer than I expected (to the point where I forgot I even took a test), but the results were surprisingly insightful, and I hope they will prove to be helpful

We’ve used Nifty for our firstborn as well and in both cases it’s worked beautifully. I am very thankful to be able to use this method to soothe my nerves, as I have a genetic deformation or anomaly with my uterus, so this was truly an amazing experience.
It is pricey, however in our eyes worth every cent☺️

The infuriating pricing structure is also misleading, many of the advertised errors they check for result in miscarriage, and there is nothing 'pro' about the pro model. Prices also look different depending on where you look, it is not consistent or clear.
This company has very poor communication with the hospital, so there were some really in my opinion severe lapses in that regard.
1) Pre-test counseling is non existent, so have fun slogging through wikipedia like a wannabe doc trying to make an educated decision. Before you pay for the test, nobody will let you know that a blood transfusion or heparin use or even body mass will negatively affect the accuracy of your test. No. Pay first, and hope you made a good choice.
2) Information on the procedure is sparse. Your doctor will neither help you choose the right package nor help you understand the results, in fact all they do is make sure that you fill in the forms correctly. Spell your name, and repeat back your phone number. In my case they did not tell me the password to access my results, so I do not have access to them at all.
3) despite the astronomical cost of the test, there is precious little information on reimbursement in the case of invalid results. There is NO guarantee for when the results will be available, and no way to track the progress. Customer care is unresponsive and probably not human.

Its great but it took super long, they had to re-do the test for some reason. But its super useful and interesting.
