Have proof of online checkin errors!

We had online checkin. When we tried to check in one day before leaving, we got persistent errors. It happened before with other flights, but then we go to the airport to checkin at the booth, and all is ok. But this time they made us pay 20E per person because we didn't have a screenshot or other type of proof.

Not impressed at all

Not impressed at all. The aircraft was old and looked it. The seats were leather and desperately worn and uncomfortable. Exorbitant price for a two hour flight.

Ripping you off at every point of the journey.
Even when you try very hard to do everything right there will be something that costs extra, e.g. going out you cannot check-in online, but on the return flight its suddenly 40€ extra, if you did not.

Worse than Ryanair

I didn’t think there could be an airline worse than Ryanair, but this is a new record. Staff was rude, they send instructions in German only and was charged an additional 60 euros for my case. DO NOT USE THIS AIRLINE

Absolute trash website

Absolute trash website. Not a single thing is working as supposed. Our booking errored out after trying to pay for it with various cards, in various browsers nothing helped. The mobile website is completely broken and nothing is working there. The only way to complete your booking is to download the app and create an account. What a bullshit

Customer service who lies to you

Had booked a trip from Hamburg to Zürich (I am pendling that route 20-30 times a year) and had paid for a 12 kg suitcase. When I came to the airport, the bag was within the limits (size and weight, 8 kg) as a cabin bag and I brought it along. By the gate I was forced to check it in, at a 60€ fee!! - now my luggage costs more than the fare ticket. When I complained at customer service, they claimed the bag was 15 kg heavy and overweight!! Later they changed the story to "it has to be checked in", but of course no refund. This is apperently how Eurowing treat loyal customers, but with this action, they have lost me as a customer and the business I would have brought for the future - keep up the good work Eurowing, soon you dont have to worry about customers anymore

No Board Entertainment!

One of the most valuable things an airline can offer imo, besides a minimum of service, is proper board entertainment to pass the time. In general my experience was ok and the staff was friendly. Having to pay for even a cup of water is pretty tough though. But the worst thing that can happen is no or a not working board entertainment. THE most important thing to pass the time. After having experienced this more often lately, I've decided to rate every airline and flight with one star until they manage to change this! Having to pay for board enternainment is already a no-go in itself, but having none or not working board entertainment because the wifi doesn't work deserves 0 stars!

Bye-bye Eurowings

Well, a big NO!
They just ripped me off for 20 euros. Their check-in link didn't work. It’s a shame—I wasted half an hour of my life before I gave up. In the end, I had to do it at the check-in desk at Barcelona airport.
'You haven’t checked in?'
'No, your system didn’t work.'
'Can you prove that?'
'Ehh… how am I supposed to do that?'
'That’s your problem. 20 euros, please!'
Bye-bye, Eurowings."

This airline is the pits

This airline is the pits! They cancelled my flight, rebooked me on an unsuitable alternative two days later, then I had to pay more to still get to my destination a day late and fr an airport that was further away. Then they charged me £65 for a cabin bag that is accepted by all other airlines but 20mm taller than the basket they make you shove it in to check the size. I had already paid £45 to take it as a cabin bag, and they didn’t challenge it on the way there either. It’s virtually impossible to get to customer service and they keep sending apologetic emails but no links to how to claim compensation. Terrible customer experience!

Eurowings left us stranded

Our flight to Madeira could not land due to bad weather, so far no ones fault. We had to land in Tenerife, where we got the onboard message that eurowings would take care of us. After searching for an half hour where to get info, they told us that we would receive a email with link to book a hotel. We did not get anything, after checking back we were told that there was an informatica problem. Bottom line we had to arrange everything ourselves, up to date we still did not receive anything, no apologies of any kind or whatever. Good job! Shame on you to leave a whole plane full of passengers stranded! Ever heard of of taking responsibility and taking care of your customers!? It is even defined by european law apparently. Never again, i would rather row to there myself! Making commercials and slogans is easy, taking real interest is another thing!

Eurowings is just terrible

Eurowings is just terrible, I don't know why I did flight with them again. But they are 90% late in my cases. Has super confusing luggage system. I purchased ticket with baggage and in really it turned out that I needed another type of baggage the cabbing baggage not check-in baggage. Okay sure I should hat done special research because of unique and very "user friendly" Ul and guidelines. And then they changed me 60 euros just for small trolley. And the most ridiculous thing the woman ,who did onboarding, threatened to offload because I wanted to pay by ApplePay. This is just disaster. I travel at least ones every 3 weeks because of work, but only Eurowings are consistently bad.
Another interesting story. Ones they were not able to do online check-in for me. Fine, could happen no problem. BUT at the same time my flight was delayed to 2:30 hours and they told me literally the following "your flight is delayed to 2 hours, but because you need to do offline check-in, you must come according to the original time", this is just so bad. And the cherry on the top, they send me SMS that I received 5 or 10 euro voucher for food, which was not working
. I talked to the people in the restaurant
who saw my voucher, and they told me Eurowings vouches never work.

Avoid when booking TUI

Horrible airline. We were effectively forced onto Eurowings through a TUI booking—and it was a complete disaster from start to finish.

Delayed flights, zero communication, and a lost bag with no meaningful updates. Traveling as a family made things even worse: check-in was chaotic and poorly managed. Customer support is practically nonexistent—just useless AI systems and frustrated staff who clearly have no access to basic information like baggage status or check-in details.

This feels like a budget airline cutting corners everywhere, but without even the minimal efficiency you’d expect. Avoid at all costs. And if you’re booking through TUI, double-check you’re not being put on a Eurowings flight—you’ll regret it if you are.

SubjectFormal Complaint - Unjustified baggage overcharge and service failures - Flight EW9444 Düsseldorf to Barcelona (April 5th - 16:20h

Subject: Formal Complaint - Unjustified baggage overcharge and service failures - Flight EW9444 Düsseldorf to Barcelona (April 5th - 16:20h)
To whom it may concern,
I am writing to formally complain about the treatment and the abusive baggage charges I experienced regarding my flight EW9444 from Düsseldorf to Barcelona on April 5th, departing at 16:20h.
72 hours before the flight, at the opening of the check-in process, I spent the entire afternoon trying to add a small suitcase of 8kg. After several failed attempts with your automated systems (AI), I managed to speak with a female agent in English who confirmed a price of €18 for those 8kg. While on the phone, she sent me an email, but it was not for payment. She told me to wait 30 to 40 minutes for the correct payment link, but it never arrived.
I called back, and after more issues with the AI, I spoke with a male agent who was very unpleasant and demanded €83 for the same 8kg, ignoring the price previously confirmed by his colleague.
Once at the airport in Düsseldorf, about two and a half hours before the flight, the staff at the Eurowings desk attempted to charge me €103 for the 8kg suitcase. I firmly refused to pay such an amount. Faced with my refusal, the agent finally agreed to the €83 price. I accepted on the condition that the suitcase be checked into the hold and that I be assigned to Priority Group 1. I was placed in Group 2, which I understand may have been due to the flight being close to departure, but the overall experience was unacceptable.
Furthermore, at the security control, I experienced an unusual procedure where, instead of inspecting my backpack, they focused on scanning my personal items, such as my phone and wallet, which felt like an unjustified and uncomfortable treatment.
As a 65-year-old passenger, I consider this series of technical errors in your telephone support and the inconsistent pricing to be abusive. I demand a refund of the difference between the initially agreed price and what I was forced to pay.

Eurowings canceling my flight to the…

Eurowings canceling my flight to the destination and offering me a refund. However they will not refund me for the return flight. It cost my so much money with meetings, my accommodation and now my return flight. They cannot keep anyone happy, and hence their own staff won’t work. But hey, I guess I’m covering the cost on this occasion. Please do not waste time giving them your money. Plenty of people fly to the same destinations they do. Choose them. Or better still take a taxi. It will be expensive, but you will get there, and you will have an experience with a human, not a computer
