Extremely bad and feels like scammers

Extremely bad and feels like scammers. I booked a flight and was given flight tickets for ANOTHER DATE than I had booked. I rebooked those tickets (and paid the price for it) to the initial date i wanted to fly, but GOT ANOTHER DATE AGAIN. After a second time I called them, and was given no explanation to how this could have occurred. I was given flight tickets to my initial date this time, but i had to for their service to help me. They’re scammers and leeches, do not fly with them.

Eurowings is worst flight i ever travel…

My baggage was delayed for almost 2 months on a Eurowings flight with a long layover and no extraordinary circumstances. I submitted a modest, well-documented claim for basic replacement items, only to be repeatedly denied — not because of the amount or the receipts, but because Eurowings claimed that “no compensation is owed for baggage delays on return flights.”

It was the infants bag and my son traveled with absolutely no cloths for the whole trip. It was really disgusting about eurowings.

This reasoning is legally incorrect. Under the Montreal Convention (which governs international air travel), passengers are entitled to reimbursement for reasonable expenses due to delayed baggage — regardless of whether the flight is outbound or return. After Eurowings refused to acknowledge this, my husband traveled to Colin to receive our property but they said the luggage had been sent to the centre office the you will receive the bag within 2 days, it’s been 1 more month waiting. I urge to eurowings, it can be anything in the bag and you can’t steal the thing from passengers. It is your responsibility to look after their comfort . Kindly do the needful in my case. I haven’t enough money to buy the essential kids item. If you have the bag kindly send it to the given addres.

Terrible customer service at Eurowings

Terrible customer service at Eurowings. I was charged €60 for a cabin bag that fully complied with the official size allowance (only the wheels exceeded slightly), even though the same bag was accepted on my outbound flight and by other airlines for more than 3 years. The gate agent was rude, provocative and completely unprofessional. No tolerance, no respect for passengers. A company to avoid.

Appalling, Zero customer service and No communication or resolution.

Eurowings left my luggage in Germany, refused to send it to me before day 4.
Then on night 6, the night before I am due to fly home, they text me and tell me I can collect my luggage from the airport AFTER my homebound flight has left the country!
I asked them to put it on the flight I am on so I can collect when I get back to the UK but no, they would not do that.
They have deliberately been difficult with returning my property and this feels tantamount to theft of my belongings!
Consequently, I am now home and still my luggage is in Egypt! I have been home for 2 days, I call and email and WhatsApp but get no replies.
I reported my trip duration and that my prescription medicines are in my luggage, what would they have done if I dropped dead without them? Leaving my children without a mother? Nothing! They'd ignore it, like they have ignored all communication from me and my husband.
I urge people not to fly with them EVER! the customer service is APPALLING.

Worst travel experience!!!

I had one of the worst travel experiences with Eurowings. My flight was delayed by 3 hours. We were boarded, then asked to disembark, only to re-board later in the middle of the runway. During all this time, we were not offered a single snack or even a proper drink—just half a small cup of plain water.

Because of the delay, I inevitably missed my connecting flight. Once I landed, I went to the Eurowings service desk where, at first, a friendly agent handed me a coupon for dinner and a hotel stay and rebooked my ticket for the next day. For a moment, I thought: wow, great service! But just seconds later, the same agent suddenly snatched the coupon back from my hands and cancelled the new ticket, telling me that since I had booked the flights separately, I was not entitled to any assistance. He then very rudely said: “That’s your problem, I can’t do anything about it.”

When I tried to ask for further information or at least some guidance on where I could stay and eat, he simply ignored me and started helping other passengers—who were also disappointed and complaining about the awful service and the 3-hour delay. We were all treated disrespectfully by someone who was clearly much younger than most of the passengers and showed no sense of empathy. Hungry, exhausted, and drained after an endless flight full of disruptions, we were left completely on our own.

This was a horrible experience that convinced me never to book with Eurowings again.
The only positive note: I filed for compensation and I did receive it within 14 days.

No free cancelation within 24 hours

It says on the website that you can cancel your flight for free within 24 hours, a policy followed by many airlines. Careful!!! what it means in this case is that you don't pay any cancelation fees - NOT that you get your money back. In particular, you can claim back as much as the airport taxes if you cancel within 24 hours. It took a long time to get this information since the line was truly horrible and breaking and the first agent was unhelpful and hang up on me. I am giving two stars because the third agent was able to explain the fees to me and recover the reservation I had just canceled.

After experiencing a 2 hour delay on…

After experiencing a 2 hour delay on the flight to our holiday destination, the return flight from Zadar to Düsseldorf is slowly turning into a nightmare. We arrived at the airport yesterday late in the afternoon for our return flight scheduled to depart at 8:10pm.

After delay upon delay we were finally allowed to board, but while waiting at the airplane stairs to climb aboard the flight got cancelled. Because nobody had gotten dinner we were handed a single sandwich and a bottle of water as a dinner replacement.

A single bus was arranged to bring all passengers to a hotel where we arrived around 2:30 am. Our flight would be rescheduled to next day (today) with a departure time of 2pm. At the airport the departure time was shifted to 3.10pm and the flight is currently delayed until 4.40pm which is approaching the 24 hour delay mark.

I tried to get in contact with EuroWings customer service but they cannot be contacted. I tried the phone number and after being put on hold for quite a long time, I was directed to a customer satisfaction survey after which the call got disconnected. There are no EuroWings representatives at the Zadar airport.

The experience is horrible and this was my first and last flight ever with EuroWings. I highly recommend avoiding EuroWings unless you want to overpay for nonexistent customer service.

absolute shit

Cancelled my flight with less than 4 hours notice. Automatically book into a later flight that arrived at my destination airport AFTER my return flight had departed. But still they won't refund my return flight. Called them and was told they won't speak to me. You suck terribly Eurowings, honestly you are shit.

HORRIBLE!!!
❌❌❌
We must pay a lot more for our bagage cause it was suitcase and not a purse or bag.
160€ for two suitcases while it was included in our flight and we already paid.
When we go to spain and leave in Germany at the airport there was no problem to fly with this suitcases but at aliante airport (eurowings) it was a problem, horrible!!!!!

Flight EW521 delayed multiple times by…

Flight EW521 delayed multiple times by up to 16 hrs, then cancelled. They offered a voucher which is unusable as it lacks the code. They artificially inflated the prices of flights after cancellation, so when you try to re-buy, ticket for any day within the next four days costs three times the original price. (But of course ‘change is free’: are you taking the mickey?) I am disgusted, will never ever fly with them again, and will encourage everyone I know not to fly with them.

Flew from Newcastle to Berlin

Flew from Newcastle to Berlin. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. Flight left on time from Newcastle (boarding was a free for all but no issues). Return flight landed early and we left the airport 5 minutes before we should have landed. I guess if you stick to the correct weight and bag size you are good to go. Definitely use again

Passenger is seat 1F pushed his bag right UNDER his seat leaving no room for us

We arrived just in time for departure totally stressed after long queue for check in (1 line for all flights) 3 passport checks. To find our 2nd row seats a man in row 1 had pushed his bag under his seat! That's against flight safety guidelines and we paid extra for extra legroom. Our daughter couldn't put her bag under the seat and spent the whole flight with her legs cramped. Not once did the steward check. And to top it off the steward totally ignored that I wanted to buy a drink! Several times he passed and did not once check our situation which by other airlines this bag would have been removed and placed in the overhead compartment, which was almost empty!

Don’t Fall for the “Return Flight” Excuse – Know Your Rights!

My baggage was delayed for 5 days on a Eurowings flight with a long layover and no extraordinary circumstances. I submitted a modest, well-documented claim for basic replacement items (€59 total), only to be repeatedly denied — not because of the amount or the receipts, but because Eurowings claimed that “no compensation is owed for baggage delays on return flights.”

This reasoning is legally incorrect. Under the Montreal Convention (which governs international air travel), passengers are entitled to reimbursement for reasonable expenses due to delayed baggage — regardless of whether the flight is outbound or return. This has been confirmed by the German Federal Court of Justice (BGH, decision X ZR 85/20, 2021), which ruled that round-trip tickets are treated as a single carriage agreement and fully covered by the Convention.

After Eurowings refused to acknowledge this, I escalated the case to SÖP (Schlichtungsstelle für den öffentlichen Personenverkehr) — Germany’s official conciliation body for air travel. Only after their involvement did Eurowings agree to pay the full claim. This outcome confirmed what should have been obvious from the beginning.

To future passengers:
✅ Don’t be misled by the “return flight” excuse — it’s not based on law.
✅ Keep your receipts and claim under the Montreal Convention.
✅ Escalate to SÖP if the airline refuses — it’s free, impartial, and effective.

My case was eventually resolved, but only after a month of avoidable back-and-forth. I hope Eurowings improves how they handle these claims and stops relying on arguments that don’t hold up in court.
