Not coming back
Tried Getaround for the first time after receiving good feedback from my relatives. Booked a car in Lyon's (FRA) Airport for 10 days. After a few hiccups when collecting the car (poor location instruction, had to pay for the parking fees myself, car was dirty, etc.), I managed to drive to my friend's place. Next morning, the car was making a loud noise and after being checked by Getaround's assistance, the car had to be transferred to the garage. I then spent the next 24 hours on the phone with Getaround trying to find a replacement car (as I had the option) which they ultimately could not provide. I was then promised a full reimbursement which I had to claim back after seeing no emails coming in... All in all, have the feeling it took me a lot of time not having the service expected. Will go back to the more standard car rental provider next time.

Overall, my experience with Getaround has been positive so far. Stable and well-organised app. I like the fuel status indicator in the app. Competitive prices and good choice of available cars at a short notice. However, a £400 deposit hold for a week is a bit of a nuisance.

Another disappointing experience
Another disappointing experience
I couldn't find a spot to return the car, a parking spot in the are were used. I called getaround, waited 9mn but no one responded, i found a close (very close) paying parking covered and called again getaround, messaged the owner straight away with all the information about the parking, spot number...
I just got an invoice to pay 50 euros for "Compensation pour rapatriement du véhicule', I guess another way to try rip off customer, it's like if I left the car abandoned somewhere.

The app is crap
The app is crap! It fails to upload information in a timely manner, locks up and has to be deleted and re-uploaded. Twice failed to open and close vehicles hired, one ending up costing me penalties! The staff doesn't do much to help either!
I definitely won't be dealing with them ever again and will not recommend them!!

Dealing with the car owner was easy
Dealing with the car owner was easy - he arranged to pick us up at the airport and dropped us off at the airport when we left, couldn't have been simpler.
We borrowed an older car but it was an Audi A4 in good condition - far cheaper than anything comparable from a rental company.
