Total scam

Total scam, I lost 230 euros and didn’t even get to use that money. They don’t send emails to notify you of the charges and refuse any refund. I even saw in other reviews that they impose administrative fees of up to 500 euros to cancel a one-year subscription. I filed complaints with various agencies—report frauds like these. They just announced they’re changing their name to Getty Image Holdings, Inc—makes you wonder why.

Very frustrating experience

Very frustrating experience. I paid $30 for 10 images unaware that there was a time limit to use them. They can clearly see that I did not use the credits I purchased but are unwilling to work with me on it at all and either allow me to download some images or just refund some or all of the money that I paid for a service I did not even receive. I have gone round and round with customer service and they are adamant about keeping the money when they can clearly see that I did not receive the images. They want me to pay more money to subscribe longer so I can access the credits I already paid for. It’s not worth the headache and frustration to keep dealing with these people. I will cut my losses and just move forward and use a different company.

An absolute scam

An absolute scam, bith them and all the "companies" that operate under them, including iStock. Charged me for a month of subscription, I asked them that same day to refund it - and they refused. They told me they'd cancel my recurring subscription but what was charged, they refused to refund. So, I've decided to use up these credits since I already paid $30 for them. Much to my surprise I learned that after canceling my subscription, I could no longer use the $30 credits they charged me for already. So, I basically was scammed out of $30 in one day with not a single image in return.

Quick service, but website cancellation could be improved

Due to the negative reviews, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to cancel my trial subscription. I also couldn't find how to do it in my account. I emailed them and received a response within a few hours confirming that my subscription had been canceled. So, here's a positive experience! One area for improvement would be to allow users to cancel their subscription directly on the website

Lost $14.99 on bait-and-switch AI image package

I bought one of their 14.99 AI packages to give me 100 credits for AI Images. But when I tried to create images, I found that every text term that I wanted to use was "BLOCKED": words like "bullet, gun, violence and blood." Now, I have a protest website -- and if I cannot use such terms, then the AI generator is useless to me. First, the reps told me that they had a "no refund" policy for AI images. Finally, they said that my complaint would be reviewed by the appropriate Getty department and they'd get back to me within three days. So far, it's been a week and I've heard nothing.

So I went back to the chat "bot" today and the "smart" bot told me to wait 6 minutes to speak with someone. "Someone" never showed up. After 30 minutes, I gave up waiting. I think customer service may have been closed because it's a weekend -- but it's strange that the "smart bot" at Getty does not even know that the company he or she works for is closed!

But it is pretty dumb at that. I typed the word "complain" today (after they gave me the usual laundry list of options that don't apply to me) and the bot said that it had not been "trained" to respond to such a word as "complaint."

No Refunds Offered for Unwanted/Unused Subscription

No refunds offered for unwanted subscription. They billed me one month. I didn't know. The second month I noticed a $70 charge. I called within 3 hours of the charge. I had not used any of their products or services while under a paid subscription. They refused to refund me. They also tried to claim I was on an annual subscription billed monthly. Um... That doesn't even make sense. Annual is billed annual. Monthly is billed monthly. I had to call my bank and stop the payment. This company drove me to call my bank, that's literally how bad they are, and how much trouble they've put me through. I would give 0 Stars if possible.

SCAM COMPANY

I am a teenager and was just looking for photos to use for a project, I signed up for a free trial and I am very careful with what I sign up for so when I went to look for the cancellation button I could not find anything and assumed I was just given 10 free photos and not a free month trial. Then they take 70 dollars from my account, which was most of my 18th birthday money. THEY SCAM DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Wish I could give them zero stars.

Hidden Cancelation Button Forces You Into Expensive Yearly Subcription

Last month (6-15-2024) I found and image on Getty Images/Istock I wanted.

An offer popped up saying it allows you to subscribe to get 1 month free then $70/mo after the trial ends.

They say $70/mo to decieve you because this is actually a yearly subscription which is only mentioned briefly in a wall of text on the checkout page.

The trial says you are allowed to cancel before it ends and keep the photos you downloaded and specifically mentioned turning off auto-renew.

I went to cancel the subscription by going to my profile page under the billing tab where they have the button to turn off auto-renew and turned it off thinking this would cancel the subscription at the end of the trial.

They are telling me it only stops the billing for the year after. They are now saying I am either locked into a contract for $70/mo or I have to pay $70 to cancel my subscription because there is a different cancel button I needed to use (which I have not been directed to and still have not found).

Support told me "no refunds - kind regards" and have not responded to my emails regarding the fact that they are breaking the law by not allowing cancellation.

I am not asking for a refund for anything, I am only asking this company to cancel the subscription and stop charging me and they continue to ignore me.

This company is a SCAM. They will 100% take your money from signing up for a free trial.

Most other companies will reimburse you when you accidentally forget to cancel the trial, but they will take your $70+ and not care.

I used one image of a sunset. 140$. Auto upgrade without my permission. There was no noticeable description on the bill that it was for 1 month or 1 year, or a lifetime.

Do Not interact with this company or its affiliates.

It would appear they are running a racketeering operation, as they are not being held accountable. Theft of money ignoring a canceled sub is one thing for me, but after investigating via google and public information, it appears they have been in court and even federal court for some manner of fraud or theft more than once. Here's something helpful stop breaking the law!

Could not end my subscription at Getty…

Could not end my subscription at Getty Images because the site was lacking the last day of my free trial. Now I am stuck up with a subscription of 35 euros and they wont allow me to cancel it unless i pay a certain amount of money to end my subscription. Not a very friendly and helpfull company would not recommend this to anyone and the way they try to help you is not very helpful because from the way they want to help you it is all about making money.

NEVER START A TRIAL VERSION OR EVEN BUY SOMETHING FROM THEIR WEBSITE! THIS COMPANY SCAMS PEOPLE, THEY'RE INHUMAN!

An acquaintance of mine entered into a trial subscription with my Paypal account to download one photo. Turns out the trial subscription expired 16/02, I ended the trial subscription that same day but according to IStock Photo I am too late. They now want to charge me an annual subscription of €74.20/month = €890.40/year!
While I don't want or need this at all. They propose a solution: if I pay €350, I can end the subscription early. A knife at my throat... €350 euros or €890.40. I stand with my back against the wall and can do nothing at all. Outrageous how inhuman this company acts. I am 8 months pregnant and this company is causing me enormous stress and financial worries!
