Disappointing experience with GH Bass online store. The size 38 loafers measured 25cm instead of advertised 24.5cm, and the leather finish was stiff. Charged €9 for delivery and €7.59 for return shipp... See more

I bought a pair of shoes on Nov 30 as a…

I bought a pair of shoes on Nov 30 as a Xmas gift and made a couple of emails on the status of my order #6100152936. With no response or feedback from the company. Today, December 12th, I called and spoke with a live customer service rep who apparently was working from homeevident by a crying child in the background. He advised me that there was some mix up but cannot guarantee delivery before Christmas. He advised that he tried to get expedited delivery at no extra charge but was denied the request. I cancelled the order and will purchase from Cole Haan from now on. From whom I ordered a pair of shoes last week and arrived today. I’ve worn bass shoes since I was a child and decided to order the Pasadena Buck shoes and was feeling nostalgic. Never again will I ever buy from the website nor the shoes. Cole Haan service is better Ridiculous. I guess it was a clue when GH Bass closed their stores that the century old company was never going to be the same. Quality probably is not the same either.

Great customer service (UK)

Great customer service, decent delivery and free easy returns and quick refund! Also not to forget how stunning and good quality the shoes are.

Horrendously slow

After paying for express shipping, it's been a week and I have yet to receive an email about my order being shipped. Why would it take so long to process the order??

Worst customer service

I’ve yet to receive an order I placed on 8/13/24 and called 5 times to inquire about it. Each time I was told something completely different about my package and the customer service agent reiterated that I would receive an email from GH Bass with further insight. Didn’t happen so I had to reach out yet again. Finally, after requesting a supervisor, Tammy called back to inform me that she hadn’t read the notes about my previous 5 calls and had processed a refund, which I have yet to receive. I decided that this “mistake” wouldn’t happen again, and, yes, I would like to place the order again. Only to find out today 9/9/24 when I called yet again that my second order couldn’t be found. I now think incompetence is the name of the game at G.H. Bass customer service.

They send you trash and refuse to replace with undamaged product

I ordered a pair of red velvet loafers and one arrived with damage to the top of the shoe. I asked for a replacement and they said, “Sorry, it’s a final sale.” I have never experienced such poor customer service and ridiculous runaround as with this company. They send you trash and then say they can’t replace it with the actual undamaged product you should have received. “Your request was sent to management.” “Your request is still in queue.” I must be 1000th in line. How does this company stay in business? Below zero customer service!

All I can think is its a scam

All I can think is its a scam. Order says it was delivered and signed for but never was. Tried to contact gh bass with no reply. Talked to shipping company and half way through talking to them through messages they wanted a $2 refundable fee to get further info on where the heck my package is. Looks like a reputable company but thieved my money.

Very poor service and "quality" GH Bass…

Very poor service and "quality" GH Bass never ever again
Very poor service they sell affordable quality there, brand name is old they try to utilize that oldness and they are just pretending! They sent me a pair of poorly stitched, poorly glued and with bumps and holes all over shoes. The woolen elements aren't even stitched and connected properly, the upper part of the shoe very poorly done. With a too small piece of leather so there are holes around a lot of stiches. Instead of sending me a new pair of their "quality" shoes I have to go trough all sorts of trouble to return them, the pictures speak for themselves. These passed quality control for some reason but not for being finished with craftmanship like the rep told me. If there are holes in the leather around the stitches it's craftmanship according to him..........GH Bass never ever again, my chinese fake leather loafers look better! I own 30+ pair of shoes I know what a good shoe feels and looks like, and it's not craftmanship if there are any holes around the stiches. The piece of leather was too small to construct the shoe with it, that's what these holes mean. Maybe a better answer for customer support next time!

I ordered a pair of moccasins as a…gift

I ordered a pair of moccasins as a gift, but the gift recipient never received them. G.H. Bass cancelled the order unexpectedly after several weeks, then cancelled the cancellation, then cancelled again and never sent the shoes. The ball travelled from court to court but no one was able to resolve the issue. Too bad. I think it's obvious that I won't be ordering anything from this company in the future --immediate or otherwise.

Wrong boots sent, ridiculous handling by GH Bass customer service

I ordered a pair of boots, paid extra for expedited shipping. The boots arrived, but they were not the boots I ordered, the order was filled incorrectly. I called customer service, was instructed to take photos of the boots I did received and send those photos to their customer service email. I received a response saying that as a gesture of good will, they will waive the $6.00 return fee, that I needed to return the boots for a refund, and that if I wanted the correct boots that I ordered, I should place another order online. A gesture of good will to waive the return fee?? How is this a gesture of good will when they sent the wrong boot? And to tell me if I still wanted the correct boots, I should pay them yet another $300 to get them on the way? This customer service is ridiculous, I don't know who is running this place, but this is not the way to do business...

Product failure and no reply from Bass!

What can I say, the the old saying goes, choose your battles. Well, I have and it’s not to buy Bass shoes again. My sneakers I loved and were comfortable unfortunately failed on the soles coming completely unglued in 1 year. I emailed Bass and attached these same photos requesting a replacement pair. Absolutely no response from anyone. I waited 4 weeks to then call on the phone and got disconnected, I called back and was put on hold for 30 minutes, the person that finally picked up referred me back to having to email my issue which was what I did a month earlier but never heard back!!! I since super glued the sole but it’s falling apart again. These are now going in the trash and BASS not once replied to an email or phone call. Don’t bother, you’ll waste your money if the shoes fail. Better options out there. Thanks Bass no response at all. 👍.

The quality just isn’t there anymore!

I bought the Dylan driving shoe in the alligator print and in a 9B, women’s,($192.00) and I couldn’t even get it on my foot. The print wasn’t a really good print, not much like the photo, and the Spanish speaking girl I spoke with said it only comes in a whole size, and made in Costa Rica. No, Brazil, which is known for decent craftsmanship. They come in half sizes, but this 9B, which they say is a medium wouldn’t even go on my foot and left an inch to fit. I have about size 20 size 9B driving shoes, from Cole Haan, Trask, JCrew to Gucci and I’ve never bought a driving shoe this expensive that didn’t fit. The quality I’ve seen since buying my first pair of weejens in the 70s, isn’t there anymore. Sad! Also, just because of the customer service I won’t go back.

Their customer service is garbage

Their customer service is absolutely horrendous… I think her name was Dianne or Diana… she was nasty, rude and full of nonsensical excuses. When I called customer service again it was the same customer service rep, I’ve literally never experienced that in my life. They only have one rep. And she’s horrendous at providing customer service. Shoes are nice but run a little small I think the idea is you have to break them in

Very poor service

Very poor service. I ordered some boots on the Saturday afternoon knowing that they didn't work at all over the weekend (unusual) and paid for next day delivery. I waited until Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock with no despatch email so I contacted them. Yes, they said, all been sent out and I'll receive them tomorrow. Just before 5, I had an email saying that they only had a pair that weren't in a salable condition and that they had cancelled the order. That old chestnut. Heard it 100 times before. Absolute rubbish. I looked online numerous times during the day and they were still in stock for size 10 (my size) so there could be no excuse. Their stock levels don't update, it's purely luck whether you get them or not. I told them I wouldn't be using them again. This was my first order with them. I told them to delete my details and immediately tried to unsubscribe to emails. It came up error, and 5 minutes later an email came through offerings me 15% off in a colour I didn't want. Stay clear of this company. You'll be badly let down. I won't be returning to them.

Horrendous service

Ordered a pair of loafers from their website. There was no indication when I ordered that they were not in stock; if there had been, I wouldn't have ordered them. Paid (a LOT!!) extra for overnight shipping because I needed them for an event that was happening soon. I heard nothing from them for two weeks, at which time I got an e-mail saying the shoes were on backorder with no known ship date. I called the number they provided to cancel my order because I'd never get them in time and I got a girl (I swear she sounded about 12) who was clearly working from home. Dogs barking, little kids screaming, all kinds of noise in the background. In addition to that, she had no idea what she was doing. She asked me which order I wanted to cancel (I have made ONE order from G.H. Bass in my entire life), which made me wonder if she had pulled up the correct profile. She kept asking ME what to do (so I fill out this escalation form, right? so then I send you a confirmation e-mail, right?), so I figured there was a snowball's chance in hell that the order would actually be cancelled and I'd actually get my money back. It was so unprofessional! I've no doubt that I'll be on the phone to my bank doing a chargeback in a few days because this little girl gave me no confidence that she had done what I asked her to do. G.H. Bass: I won't be ordering anything from you ever again.
