Giant bike 10 year frame warranty a joke

My wife bought me giant prople advanced 2 Areo Racing Road Carbon just over 2 years ago . And when I was clean the bike I noticed some chips and crack marks in the paint work on the top of chain stay on the non drive side
I took the bike to the dealer and he said he'll put it forward for the frame warrenty as its cracked , he sent photos of the crack to gaint
And after 4 months gaint warrenty department came back and said its not covered as its impact damage . The bike has never been drop or any thing dropped on it or been any collision

I would give them a Zero stars if I could. I order a mountain bike from them. I never received it. And I’m getting charge for it. They said they’re not responsible anymore. They sent it and that’s that. They have no proof I received it.

Horrible horrible horrible!

Horrible horrible horrible!! I order a bicycle 4 months ago when I went to pick up the bike I was told it was not in stock and Giant was made aware the bike is out of stock. I was told my order was canceled. 4 months later still no bike, no reimbursement and no customer service to help with the issue. My husband went and brought a specialized bicycle had the best experience and best customer service!! Wish I would of known about how horrible this company and their products are. The 1 bicycle I did receive is horrible, very uncomfortable, the chain keeps popping out the gear gets stuck. Just horrible

This is the worst bike company!

This is the worst bike company!! Spent over 8000$ on a couple of ebikes. I am an avid cyclist, my fiance not so much. Scheduled our entire summer around cycling. One of the batteries short circuited after 2 weeks. I had to send it back. They said they were sending a temporary replacement until they could send me a new one. Apparently it's "in the mail." Almost a month later and still nothing. They don't answer there phones, don't reply to emails.
I just finished up cancer treatments and this was my summer to enjoy life again...what a waste of money and energy. I have 7 bikes, none of them Giant. I mean...come on....first and last time with Giant!! Worst customer service EVER!

Giant Bicycles

In December 2020 we bought a Giant Reign Advanced 0 from the Lygon Street Bike shop in Melbourne for my son. About 1 month later in January 2021 the shock failed on the 2nd day of a 5 day trip to Bright, Victoria, and we had to return the bike for repair under warranty. We were without the bike for 10 days while this process took place. In April 2021 we returned the bike again with a cracked rim. After reviewing the damage, Giant refused to treat it as a warranty claim so we were up for $1250 for a new wheel. We were without the bike for 20 days during this process. On the 10th of June we returned the bike yet again with cracks in the frame. This time Giant agreed to treat this as a warranty issue, but as I write this review, we're still waiting on getting the bike back, that's 35 days and counting. In just over 7 months of ownership, we've been without the bike for 65 days! My son, a keen mountain biker, is now disillusioned and we're all extremely disappointed. The normal list price of this bike was around $9k. We didn't pay that much, thank God, but it still wasn't cheap and I would have expected better customer service. There is no way to contact Giant directly - the only avenue is through the local bike shop, so I can't express my dissatisfaction directly to Giant. After this experience, there is no way I'd ever want to own another Giant and I also wouldn't want to deal with the Giant Lygon Street bike shop. If I had an option for giving 0 stars in this review, I would. Giant doesn't deserve even 1 star!! On the upside, while my son's bike has been waiting for repairs he's been riding my Polygon T8 and having a great time on it. It cost $2.6k, is over 2 years old, and is still going strong. What do you think of that Giant?

LIV Bicycles? Don't bother.

Purchased a LIV Amiti E+ electric bike (made by GIANT). This has become an extremely disappointing purchase experience, and more surprising given that GIANT is a prestigious brand! The bike controls do not correspond to the Owners Manual, and after contacting 2 GIANT-LIV dealers, both told me they were confused as well, and couldn't determine if my version had the features described by GIANT. (The Owners Manual is written for a range of bikes, so there is no specific information for the model I purchased). More disappointing is that there is no way to contact GIANT for help! (no phone support, and no email support - they refer you back to your dealer!). Even the local dealers said that they have difficulty getting phone support from GIANT! Unbelievable. Better to skip this brand, and look for a brand with better customer service!

Is there any customer support?

I sent an email to the support email address that appears in the web page, asking some questions before doing a purchase. Never received an answer. If that's the pre-sales support I don't want to deal with post-sales!!

Awful customer service, and terrible manors!

To be honest I'd leave 0 stars if I could.

I was interested in the Revolt bike they had, so I went to Giant store Twickenham they had a small but top of the range version could I test ride.. no... Did they even try and help? No. When I asked the manager said it was covid and demand for bikes.

So I call St Paul's store that have the version that I'm after, not built, any other bikes with that geometry.. no... All given with very short I can't be bothered with you answers followed by a swift hangup.

The customer service I received from these 2 branches is shocking, totally awful. I get demand is outweighing supply at the moment but this customer service is Revolting (see what I did there!)

Giant sort it out.

Needed a basic part for my 2020 road bike ,shop where the bike was purchased wanted twice as much as any other bike shop for the item and couldn’t get it for at least 14 days
Contacted customer service at Giant who were rather brash and no help whatsoever
Next bike purchase won’t be a Giant

Very poor quality

had an E-bike less then 6months, bought from Evo cycles. Now being serviced by Evo cycles, costing hundreds in parts!! not covered in warranty as is 'general wear' I've done 500km! So when you think its going to save you money going electric after the initial investment, think again, its over $1 a km just in parts!

electric bike problems - avoid!

I have a Giant electric mountain bike. It has developed an electrical fault, so now no power.
The answer from the Giant dealer is that I need to buy a new motor and control unit for almost £1,000, which is a lot to spend on a second hand bike. They say that the motor is a 'sealed unit', so components cannot be replaced.
If it's a sealed unit, how are bearings replaced?
Also, independent repairers say the problem with Giant bikes is usually water ingress (into the 'sealed unit'), causing the printed circuit board to fail. But you cannot buy a new circuit board. They also advise that for other makes they can get parts - it's just Giant who are difficult, and don't seem to care about their customers.

The bottom line is that the bike would be repairable, if Giant released the parts. Or even sold the motor at a more reasonable price (I'm sure it doesn't really cost that much. It's a Yamaha motor which you can buy for half the price, but apparently it won't interface with the Giant controller unless you buy the motor from Giant).

So much for sustainability! A bike on the scrapheap because of a lack of a sensible parts and repair service.

My advice is to think carefully before buying a Giant bike. OK, mine is over 3 years old, but has not had much use, and a bike should last a lot longer than that with some reasonable repairs.
Go for another brand, then at least when the inevitable happens (I expect electrical problems are not uncommon), you can get a repair done for less than the second-hand value of the bike.

A company that treats ppl with…

A company that treats ppl with contempt. I ordered a bike after confirming it was in stock in Canada. After waiting for delivery, I called and was told it had been received at the warehouse in Ontario and I could expect it in a week or two. Two weeks later I called and was told, that the company had cancelled my order. No explanation, no notification. Did they need it for a friend of theirs?

Awful service

Awful service.
1st week of Jan 2021 i paid a deposit for a Talon 3 mountain bike. The staff member looked on the system and confidently told me it was scheduled to arrive in 2 weeks (so confident he offered me a choice of colours!). After 2 weeks i had not received a call, so i followed up and was told it would actually be a further 5 weeks. 5 weeks later i had still received no news, so again followed up. This time i was told a shipment of bikes was due on “week 12”. I was frustrated with this news, but accepted. At week 12 i again had received no news from Giant, so once again called to find out what was going on. I was told there had been another delay by a “couple of weeks”, but the estimated arrival was very vague. 3 weeks later no bike, so called again. I am told it will be here next week. Next week has now passed so i again called and was advised its now in the UK and will hopefully be available next week (a repeating patter!). This is now 19 weeks i have been waiting for a bike that i was told would be 2 weeks when ordering. I am very annoyed at Giant for the delay (which i appreciate is most like part of a global issue), but also at the lack of communication and awareness of the situation by your staff. When i ordered the bike i was not advised of any delay and therefore immediately sold my existing bike, leaving me with no bike for the past 4 months (during lockdown).

I purchased a Giant Escape 2 for £600

I purchased a Giant Escape 2 for £600, I had to wait nearly a week for it to be assembled. I collected it in my car and then adjusted the saddle height when I got home. On the first ride, even though I had tightened the bracket really well, it slowly collapsed on me. The first time I moved to the lower chainwheel, the chain came off and as I was trying to put it back on, the rear wheel fell out. Likewise, none of the spokes are tight enough and the cycle seems very poor quality for the money.

I bought a giant advanced 1 (carbon…

I bought a giant advanced 1 (carbon frame) and spent a lot of money because I heard giant bicycles have a life time warrantee on their frames. Well I found a crack on the top tube of the carbon frame and took it to the local giant shop. They did there work up and sent the information to giant. Giant returned back and said they would not warrantee the damage because a crack on the top tube isn’t a common place the frame to crack.

What is the purpose of telling buyers that the bikes come with a lifetime warrantee if you wont honor that. This is the reason I will never get a giant bicycle again.

P.S. no one in Giant is answering there phones. Great way to do business Giant.

Giant has one of worst after sales…

Giant has one of worst after sales support I have had the misfortune to encounter. Yes, I only need a replacement nut for the wheel spindle, but can I get any help from my local Giant store or the UK Distributor? No. The spindle does not have a standard ISO thread pitch so I cannot buy one from any hardware store. I now have a £1,500 bike which is unrideable for want of a simple part.
