Lying Scam Artists - AVOID!!

I am currently reporting this ‘company’ to the authorities for fraudulent practices and working with my credit card provider to get money back under Section 75.

I ordered two gift sets from the Glam Hair Omagh website as gifts for two staff that work in our family business, noting that on their website they state that all prices ‘include taxes’.

Soon after the order was placed I had an email notification that the order had been adjusted from two to one - no personal message, just an auto notification. I also noticed that on that email it showed VAT as £0.00. I emailed GHO to enquire about the reduced order and also confirm that VAT was in fact included as advertised as I was intending to claim this back through my own business.

The owner replied, abruptly stating that they only had one left in stock and reassuring me that the price was inclusive of VAT, but refusing to provide a VAT invoice (big red flag as this is a legal requirement if VAT has been charged). When I explained that I needed this invoice it was only then that the owner admitted they are NOT VAT registered and had therefore lied, both on their website and via email.

I tried to cancel the order, but the owner said that the single item had been dispatched (at the full shipping cost btw despite half the order missing). However the full price for the two items plus shipping had been charged from my credit card - £98 in total. Once the single item had arrived I tried to contact the owner of Glam Hair Omagh to get the refund for the second item which they never sent, but they are now ignoring emails and not responding.

I can only conclude that this is either a deliberate scam trying to defraud money out of customers online, or they are just so incompetent they don’t understand what either VAT or basic customer service is!

I would urge anyone to AVOID this shambolic business and go elsewhere.
