Same experience as everyone else- con artists

Well, my experiences are just like everyone else. Keep changing the goalposts, demanding additional medical reports. When you provide something they have asked for they suddenly hit you with a demand for something else..... Best one is where they demand you prove a negative. I had to prove I wasn't refunded on a flight I had already had to prove to them I didn't take.... They clearly have a hierarchy of rejection excuses, when you satisfy one, they suddenly come up with another excuse which they hadn't previously mentioned. After 9 months they eventually paid about one third of the claim, and then told me that if I wanted any more money (even though I had already submitted the accommodation invoice), it would be subjected to an additional £185 excess- even though it was part of the same claim!! Some nonsense about 'It was a different Section of the claim"? Eh?? So accommodation has a £185 excess, flights have a £185 excess, medical costs have a £185 excess? What a con. I have complained to the financial ombudsman

Do NOT use these people!

Do NOT use these people!! As other people have written,,they have no intention of paying out. Repeatedly ask for same information which has nothing to do with the reason why I cancelled. In my opinion, they need to be struck off! Have no energy left to tell my story about them and am sitting here now shredding all the paperwork to do with them as I want them struck out my life and will just write off the hundreds of pounds I lost because they wouldn’t pay up! Be warned and DO NOT USE!

Dreadful Company

Dreadful Company

Had to cancel holiday in September 2023 due to urgent tests needed for possible bowel cancer and the fast track appointment was while we would be on holiday. Still battling with claim, they keep asking for additional information and had to go back to Doctor 3 times. They have again today asked for additional medical information which has nothing to do with the reason for the claim. Wish I had read these reviews before using this company.

Even their premium cover is flawed

My parents took out an annual insurance with this company at a their top rate as they were travelling to the US and my father had been in remission for cancer so they didn't want to risk anything. That trip went fine but they travelled to Australia to see me in June. A few days into the trip my Mum, a healthy 72 year old, was diagnosed with a GBM brain tumour. After two operations in Australia she passed away. Here is what this company did: 1. they asked that my Mum have the operation with the public system (Australia has reciprocal rights with the UK) despite her possibly needing an emergency operation on the private system (thankfully for the company my mum did have a public operation). I was disgusted that they couldn't see the life threatening emergency. 2. Demanded that my Mum had a CT scan to check if their was a bubble in her brain as they wanted to fly her home straight away after surgery when the neurological team said no flying for 6 weeks. The Australian medical team refused to talk to them in the end as they were so irritating to them 3. Took a verbal account of all my parents past medical record so my Mum forgot a heart appointment where she didn't require any treatment and went to an additional annual check-up years before. Her medical records didn't say anything so I searched for the hospitals she might have visited and managed to get all the information they required. I think this is their job, especially as we lost my Mother. I spent hours getting the medical information they needed both here and in the UK when I returned for my Mum's funeral 4. They then reduced her pay-out as she didn't disclose this information. I argued that their should have been a form and tick a box. How are people meant to verbally list everything about their previous medical history. If there was a box she would have remembered and ticked it. 5. They spent ages reviewing my parents case (now two cases as my father had to have a skin cancer removed while here as their trip was prolonged). They decided to pay 100% of my fathers and 70.2% of my Mothers. Or so they said they would! 6. Filled out the payment forms with all the receipts (they told me to pay everything so it was easier for them to repay my father). 7. NOW they are asking for more details including the bank statements for payment and my parents receipt for flights. This is after the other team have agreed and they had all the flight details proof was sent previously. My mum passed away on July 2023, we are still dealing with the company in Jan 2024. They call me in the middle on the night despite me saying I am in Australia (I am dealing with this as it is just to hard for my grieving father). They address emails to me in my Mum's name despite me repeatably advising them that my Mum has passed. We are talking about very small cash pay-out by them but they are doing everything to avoid it. I am disgusted by the process. My parents took out the top level with this company. DON'T USE THEM.

They are trying to get out of paying

Avoid. I would give no stars if possible
I started this claim in August 23
I had to cancel our holiday to Switzerland due to a fractured foot. I was advised by my orthopedic surgeon to cancel.
I received the claims form, had to get my GP to complete part of the form £30 charge.
I booked flights and accommodation separately, it took a while to get these together. Finally I had everything together and sent to Global response in October. Sometime later they asked for a copy of my bank statement and another receipt which I sent to them.
Today 18th December 23, I received another email saying that my GP hadn't completed their part.
As I reply on using my employers photo copier, I will now have to wait until the new year to do this. Wish me luck

Absolutely shocking service

Absolutely shocking service.
Nothing but scammers and didn’t realise how awful a company it was until I tried to sort a claim from May 2023 and now only hearing back as of today!

Anything to not pay out - as seen in all reviews.

The only purpose of this company is to continue taking. There is ‘always a clause’

When you seek medical attention they expect for you to call them first if the cost exceeds £500. What?! When you seek medical attention it’s the last thing you ask the doctor when you really need assistance and ask how much it’s going to cost.

This is what holiday insurance is for!!

One star because no star is not an option

I would simply echo all the other scathing reviews - initial repatriation worked well, but subsequently repeated requests for the same information, no reply to emails, no real way of contacting...5 months later, still no sign of settlement

Please read this review before using…

Please read this review before using this company or any company that uses them for claims, such as Good to Go Insurance, Ancile Insurance Group... Our experience seems to coincide with many others.

My elderly parents (along with my sister) booked a cruise for August 2023. In July my father fell very ill and was advised not to travel by his GP. They and my sister cancelled the trip. My sister's insurance company settled her claim within two weeks, using copies of the very same documents used by my father to justify the claim. Good to Go insurance passed on my father's claim to GLOBAL RESPONSE / IM Global.

Since then, they have made repeated demands for further documents, often the same documents they received back in July. They delay and delay, they do not respond to emails. If they send a letter, they either backdate it to make it appear they have responded earlier or they are just incredibly unlucky with Royal Mail. Good to Go are not interested and simply refer you to Global Response.

My father recently died of the cancer that was diagnosed as the cause of his illness which prevented him from travelling. Global Response were informed of this by letter, yet yesterday my mother received a letter addressed to him to say the case had been passed to yet another department for review. I sent them an email to tell them, yet again, that my father had passed away. Today I received an email addressed to my dead father asking him for further details of treatment he has received.

This company is uncaring, cynical and utterly, utterly incompetent.

Avoid

We booked a holiday with my sister for the end of august with my 2 boys, I purchased holiday insurance from your travel cover, I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the beginning of a August and had to cancel our trip much to our devastation as I needed to start treatment, after sending in all the relevant documents I’m still waiting for it to go into payment if ever it does, every time I send in documents it takes them 10 days to even look at them! Then they email to say they have not received it,I sent my last documents in 8th of September we are now 20th and I’ve heard nothing and this has been going on since my diagnosis, they are making a very difficult situation even worse by there incompetence, if I ever go on holiday again I will make sure my travel company does not use this firm

Avoid any firm using these for claims!

Travel insurance taken out with your travel cover.com, they use this firm to handle claims, unfortunately my sister who I was travelling with was diagnosed with cancer just under 3 weeks before we were due to travel. We cancelled our holiday because she needed an operation and start treatment. This firm has made a dreadful situation even worse,I sent documents, they say they haven’t got them but took them 19 days to tell me this. I rang them, they said actually they did have them but they hadn’t uploaded them. Everything I have sent, they just come back asking for more and more information. Still no payment. I will never use a travel insurance firm who use these clowns to handle their claims, they will delay and look for excuses not to pay out.

Avoid at all costs Global Response uses…

Avoid at all costs Global Response uses every excuse to avoid paying claims. My 83 year old father has been waiting almost a year for a travel insurance claim to be paid. First they said the documents had not been received even though they were send via recorded delivery and signed for by someone at their office. Then they ask repeatedly for information that has already been provided and even asked my father to go for a second visit to his GP at his cost as they said the doctor had signed the form on the wrong page (which they had not). Every time a requested document is sent they take weeks to respond and come back with another request for something that they have already had. It just seems like they are trying to make it so difficult the customer will either give up or die while waiting. I am putting in a complaint to the ombudsman and it looks like I am not the only one that is not happy.

Do not use this insurance company.

My parents took out the silver travel insurance which of course being over 80 years old they had to pay a lot of money for.
My father was admitted to hospital with an unexpected life threatening condition, which meant they had to cancel their trip. The company have been horrendous trying to get flight payment back, they seem to think that they are lying and keep saying that we did not declare his condition - such as him needed insulin ) which he only needed after his admission. They keep sending my parents letters with more things they say we did not declare. They are a disgrace, and we have now written to our local MP to see if he can help.

DO NOT USE THEM!!

Took out my holiday insurance with Insure with ease after reading the good reviews on here. Unfortunatly they use Global Response to deal with the claims, who are shockingly awful! My claim was put in on the 24th April 2023, we are now on the 14th July and I still haven't had any money from them. I had my passport and £200 stolen out of my bag two days prior to going on holiday so I couldn't travel. I reported it to the police and got a crime number and thought this would be all that they would need. I was so wrong! The amount of evidence they still required was ridiculous. Detailed description of what led up to the item being stolen with timeline, train reciepts, letter from train company saying they wouldn't refund, flight seat receipts, report from police, copy of all bank statements showing payments, copy of holiday company payments and receipts, cancelation letter from holiday company. Then to top it off they wouldn't pay the £200 as it wasn't stolen while aboroad, or the flight tax,(roughly £200). I had to go to holiday company for that, the ATOL payments and one leg of my train journey. I got a final settlement on the 5th July saying payment would be made within 3-5 working days. To date it has still not been paid, despite me emailing two days ago to ask what is happening. Next time I will find out who the insurance company uses to deal with their claims. In all of the years I have travelled I have never had to deal with such a terrible company!

Do not use this company

Do not use this company ! Nothing but excuses . They have denied receiving recorded delivery paperwork and continually stated that claims are not valid … The three unfortunate claims we had to make were for … 1. Emergency medication that had got lost in baggage …. 2. Missed Cruise port itinerary due to weather (Cruise Cover paid for) 3. Travel Disruptions due to weather and a cancelled flight due to weather resulting in a 30 hour delay in arriving home … None of these are valid reasons for a claim apparently ? Each one has been addressed with a reason not to pay …1. baggage should be on person at all times 2. Ship should be reimbursing 3. Delay wasn’t longer than 12 hours ? Even though arrival home was 30hours late ? This is what the almost £1,000 policy paid by my mum single person cover for a 3 week holiday (fee due to complex medical conditions) should cover as basics you’d think ?. She paid extra for cruise cover too . Telephone calls have requested further via emails with more information from us that are non deliverable via their server . My own policy via AXA has paid out within 14days for the same issues on the same holiday for my family members and all evidence submitted was the same. Insurance with this company means no insurance. Does anyone have any further bodies in the UK we can complain to ? We have already approached the Cardiff office . My mum who is 78 has already trustingly taken a policy out with them for her next holiday before we encountered their non compliance on the above issues . We would like advice in what to do in this situation as we have no confidence in the company moving forward . It would be the same as travelling with no cover ! Robbery !
