Cancellation Claim

Our claim was straightforward and I wanted to post a review to balance out some of the negativity here.

We made a cancellation claim after I was in hospital and advised not to travel a few days before a holiday due to a new condition that I wasn’t aware of. The paperwork requirements were (according to my GP) the most specific and unnecessary they had ever seen. Despite the consultant in A&E advising I should not travel and stating this on my discharge paperwork, Global Response would not accept this and still required several pages of documentation from my GP. My GP had never treated me for this condition and never would as I was sorted out in hospital. I’m disappointed to see companies wasting valuable resource from the NHS when a GP’s time is better placed somewhere else rather than completing paperwork that duplicates information another doctor and document already provided. I understand the need for all documentation to validate a claim, but this seemed unnecessary and intrusive of my personal information. It also caused a few delays and took a good deal of time to send all documents required.

In the end, our claim was approved and money arrived promptly into my account within 2 months of our cancelled holiday.

As a positive, each time I contacted Global Response their telephone customer service was helpful. Email correspondence wasn’t always great and responses were very slow but I imagine they have a high volume.

If you follow their requirements and supply the exact paperwork they request, you shouldn’t have issues making a legitimate claim.

I had Ollie round to do my windows a couple of weeks ago, the job looked just like a factory finish and am very impressed. The convenience of having the job done at home was great and the pricing is really competitive. Lots of choice of tint available.
Highly recommended.

Unpaid hospital bill

Had to spend night and the following day in hospital in Menorca on a drip for severe ear infection in September the hospital dealt direct with them initially i assumed all sorted until this week getting an email.from the hospital saying global response still had not settled the bill and they would invoice me for the treatment, i spoke to global respones they said they wanted my medical history from my GP but they wont send it without a payment of £160 first id heard of any of it, Global response said i need to pay my GP so the can send details to them, funny im only getting this information now when chasing them up after the email from the hospital in Menorca, ive told global if they want this information they can bloody well pay for it. Since then i decided to search reviews for them which brought me here oh my god it has now dawned on me that this company are to be AVOIDED at all cost, and they clearly have no intention of settling my medical bill due to what are delay tactics on their part.
I also plan to speak to Jet2 to bring this to their attention also, as im sure they would not like to be associated with bad press about Globla Response, in future i will not tick box for insurance and seek my own from a reputable insurance provider.

Ellie, as was mentioned in your previous review, we cannot discuss details of your private claims in a public forum, which is why the response to your review was drafted as such. Again, Global Response is responsible for administrating a program on behalf of the insurer you chose, so concerns related to product limitations should be directed towards your insurer. I would give less than zero.

I would give them zero. They are only in business to make your life a misery.

They are the worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire life.

My daughter broke her leg skiing and had to have 2 operations abroad and another one in England. They have been terrible since the start and I am nowhere close to recuperating costs they asked me to cover that they said would be reimbursed. The incident was stressful enough but they made in 1000 times worse. I brought it through Debenhams. It was gold cover. WHAT A JOKE.

Disgusting service

I can’t stress enough how disappointed I am in the service. After falling life threatening ill abroad I was supported by a very helpful advisor. But once returning home and submitting my claim, it has been hell and I am being ignored after providing evidence from several medical professionals of how severe my sickness was. So severe that I was admitted to hospital in the UK and have been sick on several occasions due to stress. I am taking legal action as this is unacceptable, especially after opting for a premium insurance.

1 star is too much for Global Response

1 star is too much for Global Response. I bought my policy through Leisure Guard Lite and it's underwritten by Global Response, my claim has taken weeks and weeks, for just a couple of hundred pound and they'll be taking £85 excess from that as well. They keep making you jump through hoops, sending you requests for more information, and when you send that in it's not good enough. Or once the missing date on a doctors form has be amended by the doctor, they then decide it needs to be counter-signed by the doctor. No mention of that on the email! It just goes on and on. My other half uses Virgin Money Travel Insurance and she got paid months ago with exactly the same paperwork/evidence/proofs.

Well well, i got a reply to my review. Shame it took them 5 months and after they finally settled the claim. All I wanted for was them to keep me updated with the status of the claim, obviouslytoo much to ask for.

Awful company with no morals or customer service skills. My wife had her bag stolen in Barcelona, including the car fob which is £250 to replace, house keys, bag, purse, driving licence. The total claim was for around £400, less the £30 for their so-called admin. They said they only cover cash, which was £34 after conversion. They have therefore offered us £4.32 for a £400 claim. Robbing disgusting company. AVOID,AVOID, AVOID - wish I didn't have to give 1 star to be honest!

Do not use Global Response

Do not use Global Response. It took them over 8 weeks to payout my claim. From the beginning I sent all the correct documents as you would when making a claim. All they did was give me the run around for 8 weeks asking for documentation I had already sent on more than 2 occasions. I even received an email asking why I hadn't replied to a letter from them. Simply because I'm on holiday and on the claim form ticked the box all correspondence by email. Every email I received from them was from a different person that to me shows nobody knows what is going on or staff incompetence bit of both I fear.
So what ever you do if you need travel insurance check that the company isn't associated with Global Response

My mother feel sick in Dubai on holiday…

My mother feel sick in Dubai on holiday whilst visiting me - her daughter. At first the process seemed to be ok although i was promised direct billing but this did not happen - i had to pay on her behalf in AED. I am now following up with the company daily with little to no response 'Our claims handler will get back to you'. They never do. I was also promised payment in AED as i paid for the treatment on my credit card as my mother was incapacitated. For my mother to now be told that they wont reimburse me (as im not named on the policy - um duh i am a resident in Dubai and this was always known) but may reimburse her in GBP. No use to me and my credit card bill. Policies, customer service and general communication terrible. From the reviews i have seen - this seems to be a general theme. Will not recommend this company to anyone i know and like in Dubai! Chasing for a response - no one is responding.

Worst Insurance company ever

Worst Insurance company ever
I have still not been reimbursed a substantial amount of money from an accident I had abroad in January and this company is still blaming everyone else for their incompetency
I have asked to speak to a manager and I had a reply that she was too busy so I had a call from someone who did not introduce herself asked me for my details and then made up more excuses
Almost to the extent that I felt that I had done something wrong and that I was incompetent
When they had not paid an invoice that was agreed within 28days
If anyone reading this review needs Travel Insurance avoid this company at all costs because having an accident or falling ill abroad could cost you thousands

Worst insurance company ever dealt with....

If a company can postpone things and wriggle out of paying a claim, then Global Response / ERV take the cake. The excuses not to pay, loss of documentation and lack of contact from the assessor is beyond a joke.

Please avoid this company like the plague.Responses are drawn out, excuses made and lack of human contact with those that actually deal with the policy is extremely poor. This company hides behind call centre staff who have no direct input and one side written jargon that you cannot respond to.

Disgusting company

Disgusting company, avoid at all costs. I find myself writing this feedback whilst still in middle of an on-going claim. I had to cancel a short break over Xmas because of a chest infection and fever. I attended the GP the day after Boxing day when the surgery re-opened after the Xmas break. I was prescribed antibiotics and told buy my GP that i would have not been well enough to fly. I have completed and sent of the claims form. I received an email saying the GP had only partially completed the medical section of the form, so i got that rectified and sent it off again, only for them to come back and ask for another letter from by GP stating that i could not fly on so and so date when this is clearly stated on the medical form that was returned to them. I feel absolutely disgusted that i am being subjected to such obvious delaying tactics, and it seems very much a company philosophy to try and grind genuine customers in to submission. This i feel, is in the hope that customers like myself will give up on their claim because they have neither the time or
the energy to do so. This is a genuine claim and i can assure the global response company i will not go away and i am willing to take it to a small claims court. I just want all to be aware of the terrible service that i am currently dealing with, they are more than happy to take your money, but then when a claim is submitted they want to create as many hurdle's as possible to delay what is a genuine claim for a few hundred pounds and not a few thousand pound.

Excellent service

I can only write this review as I personally have found the service by the company. We were due to go away on a 28 day cruise over Xmas and New Year. The day before departure from Southampton my Wife was admitted to hospital with an skin infection and had to cancel the holiday. I downloaded the claim form and filled it in along with the section required from our Doctors signed and stamped. We received a request for further information from our Doctor this was returned ASAP by registered post. 10 days later we received notification that the claim had been approved for final payment. 10 days later we were informed that the claim in full less the excess would be paid into our bank account and that was for a sum of £5,650 a large sum of money paid without fuss. With any insurance that you have you only know how good they are once you make a claim. I have no compunction what so ever in awarding this company 5 stars + for the prompt and efficient way they dealt with me.

Good level of service for cheap insurance

It happens that during my holidays I get to the hospital and missed my flights back home.
My case was accepted and handled with no issues and I get flights home few days after I left the hospital. Overall process looked quite professional. People know what they do.
Looks like I could give 5 stars here, but no. It is cheap insurance, people works too much there and some issues happens.
I called them quite frequently to get things moving and arrange right tickets, to fix typos in surname, to add checked in baggage. Some minor bits, that I noticed because I was checking everything that I get from them. However If I had not checked it in advance - I could get surprise in airport.
Also about a lot of bad reviews here. I was worried about them, but I assume that this is result of cheap insurance. Their policy is not as comprehensive as more expensive one. But it worked for my simple and straight forward case.
Thanks
