My experience with GLOBAL AUTOMOBILES…

My experience with GLOBAL AUTOMOBILES in Blackburn has been an absolute pleasure.
From choosing my vehicle, securing my vehicle then arriving to a very warm welcome and being left alone to look at and through the vehicle in my own time & pace. Everything has exceeded my expectations. The whole process is done with customer satisfaction being a priority. Nice Coffee served too 🤩
Thank You GLOBAL AUTOMOBILES. A pleasure to deal with you.

Most helpful Team

I popped in to see if a mechanic could take a look at my car i had purchased from here a few months some 5k mileage ago. The guys here could have been more helpful and really looked after me. 10/10 for customer service. I will buy my next car from here and also use them for servicing as you just cant find this level of customer service anymore.

Buyer Beware

Buyer Beware
I may have just been unlucky, but I wouldn’t want anyone else to experience similar problems without being forewarned.

The Company is not a member of the Motor Ombudsman Scheme.

In July 2024 I bought a Jaguar XF from Global Automobiles in Blackburn. I had read excellent reviews, and was reassured that the Company promised a complete pre delivery check, a full service, cam belt replacement and new MoT test. I also purchased their extended 12 month comprehensive warranty for a further £399, and paid £399 delivery since am a 72 year old disabled driver and my home is in Kent, 288 miles from Blackburn.

On delivery the cabin had a musty, smoky odour which I assumed might have been from the delivery driver smoking or from the previous owner. I quickly discovered the AC unit was inoperative and thought this might account for the smell.

I advised the Company and took the car to my local Formula One Autocentre. Their Ecotechnics analysis revealed 0% refrigerant and 0% oil recovered, and that in their opinion the system had been unchecked for several years. The Company insisted all their pre-delivery checks had been “ticked”, but after some negotiation they refunded my costs.

However the smell not only persisted, but got worse, and it was now obvious that fumes were entering the cabin. I could only drive with the air re-circulator off and the window open.

My local Jaguar specialist garage discovered a leaking cross over pipe and quoted £2200 for repairs (25% of what I paid for the car). They also commented that even the most cursory checks would have revealed black, sooty deposits in the engine bay that should have flagged a problem.

The Warranty Company refused the claim since the part was not covered.

I reported this to Global Automobiles and they again insisted that all pre delivery checks had been carried out, but that their outsourced valeting might have cleaned any soot before they did their checks, and that since I had completed several thousand miles they couldn’t be sure the fault was present at the point of sale.

They offered to assess the car if I delivered it to their Blackburn site. By now I was suspicious that the promised checks had been absent or cursory, and was anxious that the service and cam belt replacement might also have been overlooked. The constant illumination of the “service” light on the dashboard did nothing to reassure me. I asked for further confirmation that these had been done but none has been forthcoming.

Returning the vehicle to Blackburn, with no guarantee they would agree the fault was pre-existing, was impractical since this would involve a further £399 delivery charge (probably both ways), so I offered to pay for the car to be assessed independently at a local garage (to me) of their choosing, or with the AA.

They declined and I had the car repaired locally. The garage retained the cross over pipe for me. It was completely corroded and leaking at both ends, and this had obviously not been a recent development.

I advised Global Automobiles, with photographs, in the hope they would do the honourable thing and offer at least some reimbursement. On 5th February 2025 they declined.

As I said, buyer beware.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.
Purchased a Merc estate from these jokers in FEB 2024, initial exsperience was fantastic. Global are very quick to stress their long history and close links with Mercedes Benz. Sale rep made all sorts of claims over the phone about work that had been done to car, warrenty etc etc.
After picking up the car, I should known better, when the sales rep didnt have promised invoices for work they claimed to have carried out......
Noticed issues with gearbox and fuel consumption within 100 miles of my 300 mile drive back to Cornwall. Phoned Global and was reasurred that the car would adapt to my driving style over time. it was now that it was revelled to me for the 1st time that the car had not been driven in nearly a year.....red flag
4 days after purchase car broke down, AA came out tand diagnosed a failed DPF sensor. Contacted Global who agreed....as they must legally. To have the car repaired.
Took car to a highly reputable local garage. Decent garages are in very short supply in this part of the world. Had to wait a week to get work done. During the process of caring out the workl the garage called me. to make me aware of a number of other significant issues that they had found with the car.
Diesal leak,
Vibration from the engine or gearbox when revving,
DPF brackets missing,
Exhuast gas temperature wires not connected,
Boost leak from either the inlet manifold or throttle body,
oil leak on the high pressure fuel pump,
faulty rear parking sensor.
I contacted global immediatly, there first response was to tell me that this kind off thing was to be expected if you drtive a car such a long way home.
I told Global that i would like to return the car as was my consumer right. they outright refused, but did offer to get the car repaired.
At this point i started legal proceedings against Global Automobiles. following the procedure outlined by and with the help of Citizens advice. I also did some digging into the company.
THEY ARE NOT.......connected to Mercedez Benz in any way, in
fact MBenz UK have never heard of the them.
THEY ARE NOT.......an authorised Mercedes service center or
partner, as they repeatedly claim on their
website and advertising.
THEY DO NOT.........Use geniune Mercedes parts etc, when
repairing or servicing.

They are liars and will not honor your consumer rights if they can possibly avoid.
If anyone would like further detail info about this company feel free to contact me.
