Disappearing Warranty

My husband and daughter went to Go Green Motors in April 2023 to buy a car for her. Unfortunately, we were in desperate need of a vehicle. During the sale, my husband asked for $1,000.00 dollars to be taken off of the price of the car as it was selling for well over blue book. Ali (the salesperson) said he couldn’t reduce it by this amount, but agreed to reduce the amount by $500.00 and offered to include a 3-month powertrain warranty. During the sales transaction, Ali went over the warranty and signed his name at the bottom of the form. He also assured them that the car was in good shape. Within a few weeks, it was clear that the car was not in good shape as it immediately needed all new struts and shock absorbers to the tune of $2300.00. The shop informed us that it also needed new sparks plugs, a suspension control arm, fuel induction service, rear differential fluid exchange and a transfer case fluid exchange with an estimated cost of $2100.00. We decided to hold off as we had just spent a significant amount of money for the first round of repairs.
A few weeks later the “limp mode light” came on. We took it to a shop that specializes in Nissan’s. In addition to the problems identified by the first shop, they informed us that we needed a new water pump and transmission cooler which should be covered under the warranty. Low and behold when my husband went to look amongst the paperwork for the warranty, it wasn’t there. He called Go Green Motors multiple times asking for the warranty to be sent to us so we could use it to offset the cost for the second round of repairs. He got the runaround until he was finally informed that they have no record of the warranty. Both my husband and daughter recall Ali going over the terms of the warranty and signing what appeared to be warranty. Clearly, the warranty was purposefully not included in the paperwork. Needless to say, we will be taking them to small claims court and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. After spending over $6000.00 within three months of buying a car from them and the “disappearance” of the warranty, I would highly advise anyone to bring their business to a different used car dealership!
