Do Not Use Their Storage (Privacy Issue, Red Flag)

I love what the company stands for and find Mike's videos extremely helpful. I purchased silver yet made a huge mistake by having them hold it. If you are buying gold or silver I am sure you would agree that privacy is a huge part of reasons for doing so. When I went to ship my silver they wanted me to email a copy of my license to "prove my identity." Now keep in mind the silver was going to my billing address that I used to purchase the silver in the first place. So they have my credit card which is my billing and they want my license? They stated in their own instructions they would only need my license IF I were sending to a different address...yet when I stated as such they still wanted me to email the license. Email not so secure and sure there are ways to make it secure there are no federal laws they could point to that made this a requirement, this was their own internal policy. This is where individual rights get run over by companies. Point is I shouldn't need to prove anything I already made the purchase! So they finally gave me an alternative after I started a dispute process with my credit card company...which of course failed because they could show I "received" my silver to their storage. What a joke, if I can't get my silver without bending to their rules, how is that receiving anything? That's holding my silver hostage with rules that I didn't have to follow at the time of purchase. Again nothing against what the company stands for however I stand behind my ability to keep my info private, if you didn't need the information for me to purchase then you certainly shouldn't need it to actually ship it. Very bad experience I could use stronger language but that's ineffective. Save yourself the headache and DO NOT EVER USE THEIR STORAGE. Thanks and good luck.

Although they are very kind to respond if they are actually trying to stay compliant then they would have people provide their ID as soon as they have purchased storage. They did not do so and their actual instructions stated that an ID was only necessary when shipping to another address. They stated they would be updating their instructions. Great however that still puts them out of compliance (according to their own language regarding storing precious metals) until the person actually goes to ship, not store, ship the product. Last if I am getting a refund and/or shipping to my billing address verified by the credit card company - if that was enough to purchase both the precious metals and storage then it should be enough for shipping. Making me go to a notary to prove my identity after making a purchase?!! Update how you purchase storage by having ID upfront otherwise it seems logically that you are out of compliance. I just want my purchase and making me go through hoops to get it or even get a refund is might equals right and if that's true than customer protection is a myth. I hope you see the logical fallacy and update when you ask for proof of ID as right now there is no logic to it and it's very, very frustrating.

As Advertised!

After discovering GoldSilver from their YouTube channel, I was so happy to see they're the real deal and what a great group of people! Today I had to call their 888 number a few times and was so pleased with everyone I talked to. Not only did they help me but gave me information that helped me make a decision about my investment.

I purchased silver and mailed a check

I purchased silver and mailed a check. I received emails and phone calls that my check had not been received. So, I after speaking with a representative I was emailed details I had to follow for a wire transfer notification to ensure the my purchase would be processed. So, off to the bank which included a $14.00 additional fee for that transfer. My actual check that was put on hold from the team was actually cashed the same day. Now, I am being told I have to go to the bank to get a copy of the cashed check from the exact same account the wire transfer transaction was initiated from. Makes me very nervous what type of company I am actually dealing with for future purchases. Please have some look into this and I should not have to go out of my way for a 3rd time to provide proof of a check that your team cashed. What quality assurance does this company have in place? How can this happen a wire transfer emergency and cashing a check that actually was put on hold for 5 days (which means it was in your teams system) and cashed the exact same day as wire transfer. I am very unsettled by this experience!

I highly recommend this company

I highly recommend this company. Every time I go in my bank to send a wire payment, they warn me about fraudulent companies. I always tell them, "You don't understand, this is a very solid company. And they are a good company." I feel so happy and lucky that I found you. Thank you for helping me reach my goals to collect precious metals while the dollar becomes more unstable every day.

Goldsilver.com & GoldStar Trust fail their customers!

Very disappointed that they stopped working with GoldStar Trust with IRA contributions and sell backs. GoldSilver.com has been a long time trusted metals dealer and GoldStar has been a long time trusted custodian for IRAs.

GoldStar changed their policy recently stating that they now expected GoldSilver.com to send payment before they would release metals upon sell-back. GoldSilver.com said they have always send the funds once the metals were delivered to them. They said this is the way most metal dealers operate and that they were trying to work with GoldStar Trust, but have not gotten any flexibility from them.

Goldstar Trust says they have this policy to protect their clients. And GoldSilver.com says they would have to put up their own funds prior to receiving the metals back and feel they are risking their money if GoldStar Trust does not send the metals or if the customer changes their mind.

I had a merged phone call with both companies on the line. Neither company was willing to budge on their policies even with my permission to release in either direction. So as the customer to both companies that I had full trust in, they apparently don't trust each other enough to do a work through. So I feel both companies have failed me.

We too share your frustrations. You have written our explanation of the requirements beautifully as this is how the industry works as a whole and has worked for years.
There is an industry-standard for precious metals. For purchases, the dealer requires funds before they release or ship any metals. When selling back, the dealer requires the metals to be received before the funds are issued to ensure the testing and verification process is completed. During the process of a sellback, if we were to issue funds before the metals were shipped or received by us there is a level of risk involved on our side. For example: If funds were sent and we did not receive the correct quantity, metal type, or the shipment was not delivered at all, then GoldSilver.com would have issued payment for metals that were not received.

As our business grows and adapts we begin to recognize the IRA custodians who put the interest of their clients first. It was a difficult decision but we can no longer name GoldStar as a close Trust Partner with Goldsilver.com. We do work closely with Equity Trust, Strata and New Direction Trust company.
