Good job done! Thank you.

GOS completed some complex work removing legacy plumbing and electrical installations before installing new radiators and lighting. The staff were courteous, highly professional and explained their work clearly. All works were completed to a high standard. Thank you to the GOS plumbing and electrical team!

This firm carried out a complex…

This firm carried out a complex investigation and repair of a plumbing job. They were informative and left the workplace spotlessly clean. I would recommend them 100%.

AVOID!

AVOID!! No matter how I contacted them I got no response, and I gave them well over a week to respond and that was to the operations manager.(email) By phone only to say phone Ideal in Hull. They wrote on contract that the Logic 24 kw had a manufactures guarantee, (which they dont honour)and seemly dont care about and Ideal said it was guaranteed for only 2 years. Plus, when I had the boiler serviced for the second time the service was not recorded in booklet ,I could go on .Meanwhile we are left with no heating or hot water and I will have to pay for said boiler to be fixed POOR SHOW!

I cannot recommend GOS Ltd service contract

I cannot recommend GOS Ltd. service agreements to maintain central heating boilers. Last Friday morning our central heating boiler failed to start. I rang GOS and they duly sent an engineer, but he couldn't fix the problem for lack of a part. Coincidentally we had an appointment already booked for the boiler annual maintenance on the following Monday afternoon. The engineer said he would report back and the engineer would bring the part on the Monday afternoon appointment. On the Monday afternoon I received a phone call from GOS saying the part had arrived and could they make a new appointment to come and fit it. The maintenance appointment had apparently been cancelled without informing us and the woman said they wouldn't be able to make it that day. The temperature outside was -2 deg. C and in most rooms in our house had dropped to 5 deg. C, except in the lounge where we huddled round the gas fire. Maybe my wife and I are now more sensitive to the cold being in our mid 70s, but using our bathroom was reminiscent of our youth when unheated outside toilets were not uncommon. I have no complaints about the engineers but the woman at GOS seemed to have no empathy or sense of urgency. When I expressed my displeasure she agreed to find some one to come out that Monday afternoon, but rang back later to say she was mistaken about the required part having arrived and an engineer would bring it the following afternoon. I see no point in a service agreement which leaves you shivering for 5 days over the coldest weekend of the winter so far, when I would expect at least as good a service if not better from a call out to any local heating company.

Great Service & Free Boiler Via GOS Eco

Last Christmas my boiler broke down and GOS quoted the same day of visit and replaced the boiler the very next day. Engineer on site was extremely polite and courteous, office staff very warm and welcoming on the phone and very helpful so when my elderly mothers boiler broke down, I gave them a call and they where able to provide a brand new Vaillant boiler absolutely free via the GOS Eco department - Thank You GOS

Disgusting customer service!

Disgusting customer service, the advisor which I spoke to was rude, cocky and arrogant, she continued to cut me off mid sentence as I was disputing a bill I received for £111.68 to have a shower pull cord fitted!. The parts where £13.00, the labour was £25 which I can accept however they slapped me with a £55.00 call out charge which I was never made aware of. The engineer came to my property 2 days later if it was the same day or out of hours I would have understood. I was never made aware there would be a £55.00 call out charge, if I was advised about this I would never have accepted. The advisor who I spoke to said she didn't like my attitude as I was becoming frustrated by being cut off mid sentence and being spoke to like trash!. She eventually told me she was going to put the phone down on me and get a manager to call me. The managers attitude was no better, she also was very abrupt and rude as she didn't like to be told how unprofessional her customer service was. I know that G O S have been around a long time that's why I decided to give them a try however, over the years I believe that G O S has changed hands because there is no way that a company with that type of attitude could have lasted as long as they have.

Avoid. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

Had Alex, the son of the owner to visit our property to quote for a complete central heating replacement.

We are expecting to spend around 9000 pounds.

No timeframe for the job, but we wanted the cost.

So no pressure on them to install by any given date.

He arrived late with NO APOLOGY

He had to be asked to wear a mask.

Made notes and said he would get back to us.

I called the office the next day around lunchtime and again today,

Finally Nicky called me to say Alex was too busy to quote for the work.

No apologies, for not getting back to us as promised.
..... nothing.

Why waste our time by visiting.

Courtesy costs nothing these days.

Avoid...go elsewhere, that my advice.

We will.

GOS Heating have been giving customer excellence in and around the Preston area and the North West for over 50 years and it is not very often that we reply to online reviews; However, in Mr George Bailey’s case, we decided not only to make an exception, we were also happy to depart from our usual customer service excellence and chose not to quote or do any work for him. Why is that you all ask? Let me tell you!

It’s the start of the colder months and our customers quite rightly want our immediate attention to ensure their families stay safe and warm; We are still catching up after 7 months of Covid and we always try our hardest to meet our customers expectations. Even though we have recruited heavily recently, we do occasionally make mistakes but we will always do our best to put things right for our customers.

Mr Baileys original enquiry was originally with Peter (our fantastic Managing Director) and an appointment was made to visit at 1pm on 20/10/20. Unfortunately, Peter wasn’t available so the appointment was passed to Alex (our Managing Director’s extremely capable son). Alex understood the appointment to be ‘after 1pm’ and arrived at 2pm during what is a really busy period. Mr Bailey made no comment to Alex about his lateness so Alex didn’t know he had been late until the Trustpilot review arrived which was within an hour of us telling him today (22/10/20) that we preferred not to quote for the work. Who would apologise for being late if you didn’t know you were late? It’s a small point but one easily taken out of context when penned by a now very bitter Mr Bailey….and just about the face mask bit - Alex knocked on the front door and backed away with his face covering in his hand ready to put on before he entered the house but didn’t get chance to do so before Mr Bailey snapped discourteously at him on the doorstep. As an aside, but just to bring events into context, Mrs Baileys face mask snapped soon after Alex entered the house so she decided not to wear one during the entire visit – are you seeing a trend here? There’s more…….

During the visit to quote for work, Mr Bailey explained to Alex that he had contracted 4 previous plumbers (who he called imbeciles) to look at his heating system quotation. Strangely enough, you start to build a picture of who and what you’re dealing with when 1 man thinks 4 independent tradesmen are imbeciles and is willing to tell someone who is a gas and heating engineer who could soon be the 5th imbecile! There’s more – Mr Bailey is the gift that keeps on giving….

As I said earlier, we visited on the 20/10/20 at 2pm to survey for quotation. Now this is quite a large project which always involves significant pricing involving many suppliers and trades to deliver an accurate quotation. Mr Bailey decided that between 330pm on the 20th when Alex left his house and 1230pm on the 21st (6 normal working hours) was sufficient time for the quotation to be prepared. He rang again today at midday with an attitude at which point we decided that we would rather not do business with Mr Bailey. We actually told Mr Bailey that we were just too busy to undertake this volume of work because we were too courteous to tell him that we didn’t want to work for him – that was, of course, until he posted his Trustpilot review!

Here’s the summary…we know that some customers can be very demanding and we expect that, but we expect to be treated with courtesy and respect. You will simply never please people like Mr Bailey so to all you local ‘imbecile’ plumbers (but also heating engineers and gas engineers) watch out for this person. Oh!...and watch what you write about on Trustpilot.

The most expensive company

The most expensive company around the North West.

They couldn't send an engineer the same day I called, so I cannot say they are fast. (The second company I contacted could do that by the way.)

They quoted double the price I expected (by googling same standard work), so I got a second quote. I finally stuck with the lower-priced company as I couldn't get a penny discount from GOS.

Eventually, GOS billed me £66 for the callout which is extortionate given that the engineer was out on the door in less than 5 minutes, and he's drive was about 2 miles!

Will never use them again.
Stay away from GOS, others charge half price.
