Trust me you do not want to business with Mark Zinnank the owner of Gotcha Covered Drapery Charleston

Mark Zinnank the new owner of Gotcha Covered Drapery Charleston is terrible. He is unprofessional, unkind and condescending. The prior owner of this company was so nice and helpful where Mark is not. Mark Zinnank
could not even do a simple small Roman shade installation. Which speak volumes about how much he knows about the drapery business. Mark will not succeed in business and will soon be out of business due to the way he treats people. If I had known the business had been sold I would have never contacted Gotcha Covered again. If you want to have a good experience with a drapery company go somewhere else you won’t regret that you did not use Gotcha Covered Drapery Charleston.

Gotcha Covered of Frisco - Poor Service & Products

My review of Gotcha Covered of Frisco is intended to help other homeowners in this forum. I do not recommend this custom drapery company due to poor business practices, bad products and failure to deal amicably with people. Rick McGregor, the owner, lacks the skills necessary for elegant draperies. He should stick to horizontal blinds and do nothing else. There is not enough space here for a full account of events. For a more detailed review written by me about this company, please see the Texas Better Business Bureau. Rick has not replied to any of my numerous internet reviews because he knows he cannot defend himself. Luckily for me, my new drapery team can re-do and correct his and his company’s mistakes easily.
I met Rick in October 2019 and hired him in April 2020 for four elegant window treatments for my home. 1) Living Room - drapes with banding/leading edges and tiebacks with fluted fascia and traversing rod; 2) Kitchen nook - five Relaxed Roman shades; 3) Kitchen Nook Patio Door - cornice and roller shade 4) Master Bath - window treatment consisting of a large cornice and London Shade. I worked with him through April 2021. Yes, it took him almost one full year to complete my projects, which should have taken at most 3 months. While working with Rick throughout the 2020-2021 year, I observed his decline in attention to details and note-taking, lack of overall drapery knowledge, and failure to follow instructions, of which he seemed to be oblivious. All of my finished drapery projects had flaws and/or omissions - specifically, white traversing rod in living room instead of bronze, wrong Roman Shade design for kitchen nook windows, faulty cornice and roller shade in kitchen nook patio door, master bathroom London Shade was distorted, installed off-center, had dirty trim, sloppy finished hems and uneven tassel trim along the arch of the cornice. His wife Heather corrected him several times regarding details in my presence. Installations occurred repeatedly due to mistakes in the drapery fabrications. At the installations, I would point out flaws and problems and incredibly, he and and his “best”subcontractor Robert always seemed surprised by my discoveries. This shows sheer incompetence. Additionally, he told me that he lacked the staff to complete my projects and that he had a falling out with Robert, which shows instability in his network of so-called professionals. This of course, led to a disastrous end. I did not ask for window treatments to hang from stars in the sky; all of my projects were standard for any skilled drapery company, and Rick should have been able to deliver these effortlessly. Simply stated, things were not done correctly at the outset, requiring costly revisions for Rick and time-consuming delays for me of almost one year. Rick lost thousands of dollars of his own money trying to fix his mistakes. The most astounding (and comical) of all things is that at the end of our business affiliation in April 2021, Rick blamed me for his problems, which shows he is in complete denial of reality.
I demanded a partial refund of $1250, to which he agreed. If you desire elegant draperies for your home, please hire a designer or workroom for your window treatments, not a consultant-middleman such as Rick. This type of person doesn't have the knowledge and care for detail about drapes. Draperies are works of art. What is needed is artistic talent, desire to please the customer and pride in the final result. This clearly did not occur with Rick. Please proceed with caution.
