Have used Goughs Melksham 4 times now in 6 months for certification of documents and witnessing a declaration. Each time they have gone out of their way to help me. I am so very grateful for their help and recommend them highly.

I used Goughs to buy and sell properties recently. The communication was great, I always felt fully in the loop. Would highly recommend.

Professional negligence. Professional misconduct. Lying. Over billing. Working without instruction from the client. Failing to act on information provided by the client. Destroying a clients original document without permission. Covering up by all Partners at Goughs for the allegations.
These allegations have been admitted by 2 Partners at Goughs and accepted by all partners at Goughs.
It is my view they broke the law.

These are the allegations i have made against this firm and they have been sent to the Legal Ombudsman and Solicitors Regulation Authority to investigate.

With so many allegations made, with so many admittances of wrong doing by the partners, with a refusal to settle the matter, only to attempt to cover this up, this entire firm will now be investigated by the 2 major bodies that deals with Solicitors.
It might mean certain people are struck off the role, but they were willing to take the risk.
From a simple divorce estimated to cost me between £500 - £1000, i have to date been charged almost £2800. That is because, in their opinion, the divorce was more complicated that first envisaged. What a joke!
Their offer to resolve this, was to offer to dismiss my last bill of £463 and to finish my divorce free of charge. But even that was contradicted by another partner, who offered to carry on, but at the reduced rate of £220ph, a solicitors hourly rate. Who do i believe? None of them. They all lie.
Looking at other reviews, i see responses by Goughs., which are as laughable as what i expect to hear.
I would not recommend this firm to my worst enemy.

I will never ever use Gough Solicitors again. I would never recommend them. Unfortunately I was told to use them by someone who told me they were a good firm who acted quickly. Well they didn't act quickly. They were more expensive. I did a remortgage back in September completed. They have only just this week paid some outstanding money to the Nationwide. They still owe me money which they keep promising to pay and again I'm still waiting. I have told them I will be reporting them to the solicitors Legal Ombudsman.
A lot of chasing five or six months.

We instructed Goughs to act for us in our recent house sale and then subsequent purchase. We instructed Rachael Watkins for both transactions and we couldn't be happier with how attentive she was throughout the process. Rachael provided us with regular updates and was always friendly and helpful in her communication.

We was recommended Goughs, truly professional service, friendly and helpful.
From start to finish the whole process of selling the house flowed smoothly.

A divorce and financial settlement is never an easy undertaking, but from the onset Georgina Catlin was both reasurring and professional.
