Terrible customer service. Avoid!

This review would be a 1 star review but for the lovely lady in the Great Moor showroom.

We wanted new Dekton work surfaces in the kitchen so got quotes from 4 different companies. The Granite & Marble Shop came in over £2000 MORE than the other 3 companies, so we emailed back and thanked them, but said we'd got it cheaper elsewhere. We immediately got an email back saying they can 'price match' if we send over the other quotes.

As we'd prefer to give local companies the work we sent them over and they matched the price on the Dekton Radium for us.

Not long after getting the quotes we received delivery of our floor tiles and decided we might be better with a plainer finish to the worksurface, so emailed The Granite & Marple Shop and asked if the Dekton Doomos would be the same price as the Radium. I got a reply stating no, and wishing me luck! Surely any good salesman/customer service rep would actually come back with a price and explain why its more expensive.

I gave them a call and was told its because they already had a piece of the Radium in the yard, where as the Doomos would have to be ordered in and would be £200 more. This was fine and I asked if we could therefore see the Radium and we would then make a decision on which we'd go with. I also said we could pay a deposit or the full amount if needed. They said this was fine and they'd call the 'yard' and have it brought out for us. They also said they'd call back in 10mins to confirm, although it would take a few days before we could see it.

We never received a call back and then the following week had another blunt email saying prices had gone up and the quotes 'were no longer valid'!! Surely any well respected company would have the courtesy to call you and tell you this, and also tell you by how much. And surely the Radium piece wouldn't have gone up as it was in the yard, if of course this was ever true!

I spoke to the other companies who had given us prices and none of their prices had gone up, so we went with one of them and have been really pleased with the service so far.

Coincidentally I spoke to someone a week after this and mentioned what had happened, and they'd had the same thing happen with The Granite and Marble Shop last year, so it seems we aren't they first, and it seems we've probably dodged a bullet, as if there had been any problems with the fitting etc, I'd hate to think how they'd have dealt with that.
