Outstandingly bad customer experience

My car has been in for what should have been a straightforward DPF filter clean, but the experience has been anything but simple. I’ve now been waiting four weeks with no clear timeline for when I’ll get my car back, incorrect updates, no courtesy car, and little to no proactive communication.

When I’ve had to chase for updates, the responses have felt dismissive and unhelpful, which has only added to the frustration. What should have been a quick, routine job has turned into a prolonged and stressful experience.

Had I known the level of customer service I would receive, I wouldn’t have entrusted them with my car in the first place and likely not have bought the car to begin with. Based on my experience, I would absolutely not recommend. Kia, Gravells Kidwelly.

Richard has made purchasing a car so easy.
Polite, friendly, funny and helpful, he went out of his way to help me.
Even put up with my weird emotional attachment to my previous car and did everything to make it all good for us.
Got the tax sorted, helped me with the insurance, changed my number plates, did everything.

Recently bought a Kia from Kidwelly.
Steven in particular was excellent from start to finish and enhanced our experience. We initially looked in Narbeth, maybe we arrived at the end of the day but the gentleman had little interest in showing us cars, and with little stock in the garage we decided to travel further afield to view cars.
I rang Steven to say we would be coming up to look and by the time we arrived he had fully checked the car. He was warm and welcoming, not pushy and clear in options and advice for purchase.
Our whole experience was exemplary and I must admit we have been totally blown away by the hybrid Kia Sportage we have purchased. After many years with Audi I can honestly say its streets ahead on all levels!
Would highly recommend

The best salesman in gravells

Just bought two cars from emyr Bowen at kidwelly and that takes us to around 30 cars between my wife and I in 15 years all dealt with by emyr won't let anyone else deal with us always helpful goes the extra mile and is now more of a friend caring and a pleasure to do business with ask for emyr next time you want a car from kidwelly you won't be disappointed thank you emyr for everything you do for us both we will be back 😀

Will never deal with this company…

Will never deal with this company again. I've been lied to every time with the Swansea branch. Booked MOT last year and this year, and when I've gone to the garage, the lies begin. They are full and tried ringing. I've never had a missed call or a voice mail left. Absolutely disgusting service and the attitude from reception makes it even worse.

Mechanic 'yes' but receptionist 'no'!

A few attempts to get a response after initial receptionist. Then we couldn't get the appointment mechanic had said to book as receptionist didn't think it'd be necessary and it was a busy time of the year. It was like trying to get past the receptionist when ringing some GP surgeries!

Apart from the fact the car is superb the build quality is second to none !!!!!!
I tried very hard to find a fault but to be honest couldn't
The experience of buying the car was excellent the Sales Guy STEVEN JOHN was a STAND OUT PERSON He was very knowledgeable about the Product, was very courteous, went out of his way on customer satisfaction and did everything he could to make sure we were happy
I would thoroughly recommend Gravells as your destination to purchase you new car

Poor service

(Kidwelly Branch)
We found a car on Cazoo that was being sold via this dealership, we are from Scotland and this branch is in Wales. We got the car delivered via a transporter arranged by them. We were in communications with Steven, who prior to the transaction couldn’t be anymore helpful. We asked for photos of the car as we were buying it from afar and those photos were well received, expecting a pretty clean car for a car of its age (5 years), or so we thought. Once the car arrived up to us, ourselves and even the delivery driver, noticed the scuffs on alloys and one of the rear lights also had deep (not surface level) scratches. We weren’t informed of any of this, nor did we receive photos. I brought this to the attention of the dealership who in our opinion really could not care less. Once they had received the money for the car, they wipe their hands clean of you and it’s a rarity you even get a response. Sold as seen, in this instance, was through photos and we felt as though we were lied to about the condition of the car.
Poor service after sale, would not buy from them if you’re choosing from an online site.

My wife was sold a car with a faulty…

My wife was sold a car (Kidwelly) with a faulty thermostat that resulted in the radiator fan staying on constantly and the engine overheating. We returned the car and were told it was a leak in the air con and that it had now been fixed. After collection the same issues were present. We took it to another Renault dealership who diagnosed the fault immediately and replaced the thermostat. Car now working great but we are £500 worse off. We are still waiting for Gravells customer service to reply to all my communications!!! Finally replied but have (service manager Chris) made all sorts of excuses and will not take responsibility as the warranty has expired. Should never have sold a faulty car for over 10k in the first instance. If you have issues, they have a poor customer service! Never buy a second hand car from them!

Warranty Issue

In November my car was in for a warranty issue which was fixed.

I would like to thank Lauren Ward for her help and keeping me posted on the progress of the job .

Lauren even drove me home whilst my car was being fixed .

Good People & Very Good Cars!

After a terrible refused car episode with another dealership & auto maker, I went to Gravells in January 2024 for a replacement EV with the things I needed as a disabled woman. They more than met my requirements, and saved me money! I've driven the car for a year, and have been VERY happy with it. It took a while for some ordered lighting to finally be installed, but as we live quite a ways from the dealership, that wasn't entirely their fault. That has now been sorted. They are honest, cheerful, and a pleasure to work with. Go visit them to purchase a good car.

Abergavenny branch - fabulous!

Recently brought a Kia Stonic from the Abergavenny branch of Gravells. Laura from the sales team was fabulous, keeping in touch throughout and ensuring the process was smooth from start to finish. Would 100% recommend her as a sales person. In addition the after sales team (especially Andy and Cath) were wonderful when I needed a post sale issue rectified. All in all exactly how I would hope companies like this treat their customers and will totally recommend to my friends and family

Professional Dealership

I recently became the proud owner of my lovely brand new Renault Symbioz in a beautiful metallic red.
I was professionally looked after by the lovely Mr Emyr Bowen of Gravells Renault Kidwelly.
This is the fourth occasion I've dealt with Emyr and each time he has been extremely helpful and thoughtful.
I would certainly recommend Emyr, but the whole team know exactly what they are dealing with. If there's something they aren't sure about, they make the effort to find out.
Whenever I've needed to visit the dealership, whoever it is I speak to at the time have been extremely courteous.
The same applies to whoever answers the 'phone.
Emyr's handover of my Symbioz was extremely helpful and I know if there's anything I am unsure about I can call to see him.
Being a widow I have never felt that I'm being sold any old thing since day one, which is extremely comforting.
I would once again like to thank Emyr for his help and patience with me.
I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone thinking of buying a Used or Brand New Renault, Kia etc.
