Upon returning the car at International Airport Corfu agency, I was charged an absurd amount for a tiny scratch caused by normal wear and tear. Unfortunately, I didn't have insurance coverage, so I had to pay €378.49—far more than the cost of the rental itself. Another detail revealing their unscrupulous and bad faith behavior: the charge included both the cost of a new part and the cost of painting it—but if the part is new, what is there to paint? Furthermore, they hand over cars that already have existing damage; that car will never actually be repaired, nor will it be taken out of service (yet another €95 fee charged for vehicle immobilisation costs). The experience felt like theft, exploiting the fact that I was in a rush to catch my flight back to Italy. I hope the company contacts me to refund my money; it seems incredible to me that, in 2026, a company wouldn't care about maintaining a reputation for integrity and honesty.

WARNING! Do not rent from this company, it's a mistake, you get scammed.
We had an awful(!) experience renting from Green Motion Athens. At first we had to wait at the airport for more than 1 hour to get picked up to go and get the car. We called 2 times and they said "We are coming soon". When someone finally came she was really unpleasant and yelled at people because she got only 8 seats in the car and the group at the airport was around 14 people (due to that they waited so long to pick people up). It was like she blamed us because they didn't send enough cars.
The car that we got was quite new and okay to drive. It had some damages and was a bit dirty inside, but over all okay.
When we returned the car we went out with one from the staff to look at the car. She immediatley pointed out a dent on the backdoor of the car and said that we had done that. The dent was really hard to see and we would not have seen it if she didn't point it out. So she new EXACLTY where it was. When we said that we have not done that she showed us a picture from the car on the day we had rent it and said that the lines between the doors was straight on the picture and that it was not straight now. Her argument was that we had closed the door to hard which wasn't true. You need to be able to close the backdoors normally... When I then took a picture of the car and went back inside to show her that it looked exactly like on her picture (because the dent was already there on her pictures as well, which you could see when you zoomed in), she didn't want to have a look and just took her phone back. And she repeated again and again that "We will get all our money back from the insurance company", which also indicated that they do this often and a lot.
They use the SAME DAMAGE for every person who rents the car just to earn money! They are VILLIANS!
The only positive things was the driver who drove us back to the airport. He was nice and friendly.
Never ever will we rent from Green Motion again and I don't recommend anyone to use them! Choose another company even if it's a bit more expensive and save yourself from experiencing this company. It will save you money in the end.

It’s easy to write a bad review but my experience of car rental at Preveza airport was very positive. George checked us out and handled the return without fuss. Car was new so as you would expect spotless. George and the other front desk staff were very busy, it was obviously very hot and I cannot imagine it’s easy dealing with customers who are tired and just want to get home or on their way. Thanks George for your service and I would not hesitate to use this location again.

Felt like we were being exploited – forced to pay nearly double
A really disappointing experience with Green Motion at Preveza Airport.
My wife had unfortunately misplaced her wallet while travelling, meaning she arrived without her physical driving licence or credit cards. I was already named on the booking as the second driver, had my driving licence and credit card with me, and simply asked for the booking to be changed into my name.
Green Motion refused.
We were then told that if my wife could produce a photo of her driving licence, that would be acceptable. She found and produced a photo — at which point we were told that actually this wasn’t enough and she would also need a credit card in her own name.
The only solution Green Motion offered was for us to cancel our existing booking and make a completely new booking in my name. They then refused to refund the original booking because, by this point, our scheduled collection time had passed.
The result? We paid nearly double the original price for exactly the same car, for exactly the same period.
I understand that car hire companies have rules around licences, identification and payment cards. What I don’t accept is changing what we’re told is required, refusing a perfectly reasonable change to a named second driver, and then financially benefiting from the situation by making us pay for the same vehicle twice.
It felt less like customer service and more like taking advantage of customers who had very little choice once they arrived at the airport.
I would not use Green Motion again and would strongly recommend others understand their policies very carefully before booking.

If I could give negative stars for this establishment I would! They are shocking at customer service and go out of their way to be as unhelpful and difficult as possible. They aren’t clear in any of their emails and quite honestly I think they are crooks. I wouldn’t go near them with a barge pole! They take your money then they claim they can’t give you a car because the person who made the booking wasn’t the person paying for it. Like seriously? They also refused to assign a second driver when at the desk and couldn’t give a reason why, which is just ridiculous! Honestly don’t use these guys! We’re now trying to get a refund while taking a taxi to our destination having been left without a car.

Sadly, this business is not what it used to be. I regularly rent cars in Corfu, and Green Motion used to be one of the places that I used. I will never go back.
Car 1 was 9 years old and dirty (which the owner acknowledged but wouldn't address). More concerning, the check engine light was on. The owner assured me it was just "bad gas." But when I went to accelerate on the main road, the car jerked repeatedly and shook all over.
I took it back for a replacement, and at first they wouldn't do it (saying again it was just "bad gas"). I think they only relented because I'm Greek. At the same time, an English family was replacing their car because it had broken down on the road.
Car 2 was even older, with broken parts and one side of the bumper secured with a screw. The air conditioner rattled loudly and the air it produced was about one notch cooler than a fan.
Their business model seems to be to rent as many cars as possible, without inspecting or cleaning the inside in between the rentals.
With so many other car rental options in Corfu, stay away from Green Motion.

AVOID GREEN MOTION CORFU – TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE
I strongly recommend avoiding Green Motion at Corfu Airport. This was one of the worst car-hire experiences I have ever had.
We collected our car at around 1am on Sunday 26 July after a severely delayed flight. Almost immediately, problems began. The car would not start at around 2:30am because the key-fob battery was dead. We were stranded in Ipsos with two children in the middle of the night. When I contacted Green Motion the following morning, instead of apologising, the member of staff shouted at me and demanded to know why I hadn't reported it sooner!
The following day I discovered there was no windscreen washer fluid. Again, when I reported it, I was shouted at and asked why I hadn't noticed it when I collected the car.
Most importantly, the clutch was already slipping when the vehicle was given to us. It wasn't initially bad enough to make the car undriveable, so we continued our holiday. A few days later, while driving up one of Corfu's mountainous roads, the clutch completely failed. The engine revved but the car would not accelerate, leaving us stranded.
What followed was a seven-hour ordeal. My wife and children were left on the mountain while I waited for recovery. The recovery vehicle took around two hours to arrive, and it then took another 45 minutes before we even left the mountain. I was eventually taken back to Corfu Town.
Rather than accepting that a clutch which was already slipping when they supplied the car had failed, the Green Motion receptionist immediately blamed me. Without even properly inspecting the vehicle, she insisted I had caused the failure, demanded more than €1,000 and threatened to call the police and sue me.
I eventually paid €500 after speaking to my insurer, who told me I could attempt to recover the money through insurance. Green Motion subsequently told me they were keeping the €500 and that I would have to claim it back from my insurer.
They then gave me another vehicle. After driving approximately half a kilometre, I noticed the engine warning light was illuminated. I returned immediately and asked for another vehicle. I was told not to worry and that they could simply turn the warning light off using their computer. Given everything that had already happened, I found this extremely concerning.
There were also serious issues with deposits. I paid a £250 refundable deposit, which Green Motion refused to return when I brought the vehicle back. Because neither my wife nor I had a credit card, we were also required to pay an additional €350 refundable deposit. When we returned the vehicle, this was also not returned. We were told to claim the money back through our insurance.
I find this particularly concerning because this €350 was taken specifically because we did not have a credit card. It was a refundable deposit, not an insurance claim. I will be asking my insurer and the appropriate consumer authorities to investigate how these charges are being handled.
I also personally witnessed other customers at the Green Motion office disputing damage claims. One group had a problem with a car door that appeared to involve improperly secured bolts. Green Motion initially blamed the customers. A police officer intervened and Green Motion agreed that the customers were not responsible. Similar disputes were happening with other customers while I was there.
The pattern was extremely concerning: poorly maintained vehicles, mechanical problems, aggressive customer service, customers being blamed for faults, and attempts to make customers or insurers pay.
I have rented cars many times and have never experienced anything like this.
My advice is simple: DO NOT HIRE FROM GREEN MOTION CORFU.
Whatever you save on the rental price is not worth the potential stress, disruption and financial risk. I will be taking this matter further with my insurer, Jet2 and the relevant consumer/regulatory authorities.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Fraudulent and appalling service. The cars are poor quality and have faults which they will blame on you and charge you for. Crooks.

Dear travellers, please avoid this wretched car rental firm at all costs! A few years ago a small dent cost us €800 to repair. This year upon arriving in Rhodes they charged €400 for fully comprehensive insurance for two weeks, which was more than the car rental!
On top of that, the car was sluggish. An absolute disgrace and never again.

Car hire Ref: GR905215990 Avoid, 1.Returned the car with a tiny scratch, not my fault, when they heard I had insurance the cost to repair was €896, it was €150 at most.
2. You are left with no choice but to pay the £896, the attitude of the person I dealt with was aggressive.
3. If you have a dispute call the Police, I was told the police wouldn't deal with a matter like this. I've since read comments on here saying the police where called, and the cost of the repairs was reduced when the police arrived and assessed the situation.
4. On arrival I was left waiting 40 mins to be picked up, so was stood on the airport for 40 mins. Id provided the flight number and the time of arrival 22:00. So by 23:30 I filmed the car, in the dark and covered most areas. Id suggest you video every inch of the car as they will look for any excuse to charge you.
5. If I could upload a picture of the tiny scratch on the car, I would to show that there was no way it's was €896 of damage.
6. As I suspected as requested below I emailed my complaints. After waiting 4 weeks it was a waste of time. Suggesting I had the opportunity to purchase excess reduction product proves the charges where excessive. The access I had to pay was €809, cost of damage €896. So if I'd have excess reductions the repairs would have been less....Rip of.
I'm going to take this complaint further, other people have suggested taking it to ESC.
.. We had a great holiday which was spoiled by this company who are ripping you of. BE WARNED.
7. The bloke who inspected the car said it was his colleague who had processed the original review. They then used the video I took and pointed out the small scratch. I went to the desk expecting a repair cost of approx. €150-€200...not €896.

Read these reviews and look at the poor ratings please. Whilst i was waiting to be served, one person was 2:15 hrs late for his car hire and apparently they only keep the car for 2hrs so was in the process of charging him extra as apparently they had hired the car out in the 15 minutes he was over. The guy behind him was being forced to pay £300 extra for insurance as they do not accept American Express which according to the guy it doesn’t say in their terms, he even offered to pay the extra %ge that they would be charged!
And then us.
We have paperwork from the day we hired the car basically showing that every panel had been damaged, not a problem as not huge damage. Until of course we return the vehicle and claim we have damaged it! We showed them the damage that they were talking about was clearly marked on their damage sheet and they have kept our deposit.
Initially I was refusing to sign any paperwork until the guy stated that we would not be charged for the damage, stupidly I thought they had seen sense, after signing the paperwork he went back to charging us stating that it isn’t a problem for us as we have full insurance through a third party so we could just claim from them. For me that is deceptive and unfair on the third party company who would’ve ended up paying when the damage was already there.
At this point i refused to deal with them and urge you to do the same.
Currently they hold £956 of deposit that i will have to try and do a charge back for.
I do find it interesting that they have responded to this, but so far have ignored my email and whatsapp messages. Almost as though they only respond on a public forum??

I never ever leave negative reviews, but unfortunately our experience with Green Motion at Corfu Airport was so unpleasant that I feel I have to\.
The staff we dealt with were **extremely rude, unfriendly and disrespectful**\. We were genuinely shocked by the way we were spoken to and treated\. There was absolutely no sense of customer service or even basic courtesy\.
We have rented cars many times while travelling and have never experienced this kind of attitude from a car rental company\. Even a simple interaction was made unnecessarily unpleasant\.
Corfu is a beautiful island and we had a wonderful holiday, so it is a real shame that our experience with Green Motion was such a negative one\.
I would definitely not rent from this company again and cannot recommend this location\.

They are making money with secret charges and with policies that you receive after you book!
The worst company ever. The Thessaloniki branch, event their employees know it is doggy!

This was, without question, the worst car hire experience our family has ever had.
We travelled from Australia with two young children and my 89-year-old grandfather. Before travelling, I contacted Green Motion multiple times by both email and telephone because our family only uses debit cards. I specifically wanted to clarify the payment and insurance requirements so we wouldn’t have any issues collecting the vehicle. Despite making every effort to confirm everything in advance, the information we were given before travelling was not honoured when we arrived.
Our problems started immediately. After a long international flight, we were left waiting for the airport shuttle, which arrived much later than expected.
When we reached the Green Motion office, the customer service was appalling. The staff were rude, dismissive and completely unwilling to help. Rather than honouring the arrangements we had discussed before travelling, we were told something entirely different at the counter.
Despite already paying for Protection through Booking.com before our trip, we were told we had to purchase Green Motion’s own insurance (approximately €700) and an additional €360 approximately as a security bond just to collect the vehicle. We had no realistic choice but to pay, otherwise our family holiday would have been severely disrupted. We effectively paid for duplicate insurance.
While we were completing our paperwork, another family who appeared to be from Italy was also disputing additional insurance charges and payment requirements with staff. It was concerning to witness another customer experiencing what appeared to be the same issue at the same time.
The two booster seats we had paid for were filthy, heavily worn and poorly maintained. They were not in a condition I would expect any reputable rental company to provide for young children.
When we returned the vehicle, Green Motion attempted to hold us responsible for scratches that were already present when we collected the car. Thankfully, we had taken comprehensive photos and videos before leaving the depot, which clearly proved the damage was pre-existing. Without that evidence, I have little confidence the matter would have been resolved fairly.
To make matters worse, we suffered a puncture on the way back to the depot. We safely changed the wheel ourselves and returned the vehicle, yet we were charged approximately €600 for the replacement of two tyres and simply told to “claim it through your insurance.”
From start to finish, this experience was stressful, disappointing and completely overshadowed what should have been the beginning and end of a wonderful family holiday.
I would never rent from Green Motion again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. There are many other car hire companies operating from Athens Airport, and based on our experience, I strongly recommend choosing one of those instead.
Green Motion’s communication, customer service, transparency and handling of customers fell well below an acceptable standard. This company and its staff are a complete joke. Avoid at all costs!

The worst company ever. They’re scammers who just take your money and give you damaged cars. They also charge a deposit that nobody clearly mentions in advance. They rip off tourists and foreign customers.

Reply from Green Motion Greece
Do not go there. Arriving at night in Rhodes and they would not give us the car we had already paid because the credit card for caution was not from the main driver. They let us without any solution, just to go back at the airport and get… a taxi. I will continue to warn people against this company. Worst ever!

Reply from Green Motion Greece
What a coincidence that there are only red reviews!! I had a bad feeling about this company to start. They are con artists and a shit company. Arriving at the airport in Thessaloniki, the van that was supposed to pick us up, arrived 1 hour late and then didn’t accept my family to board as he said there was no more room, so my toddler and young daughter had to wait another 45 minutes at the airport. Unfortunately my elderly father was the main driver, so he forgot to take pictures of the car (I couldn’t as we had to wait at the airport) Receiving the car was a normal expected process.
Returning the car on the other hand was a disaster. The bumper at the back was scratched in one particular area (I’m guessing from bushes or something similar) who they then charged us €1340 for!! Also on the paperwork was a tyre replacement which they didn’t physically mention upon taking the money. Quick to take the money for sure. After calling them multiple times after they had been paid (otherwise you cannot leave the rental) they are ignoring my calls and text messages on WhatsApp
This company is a scam! Their staff are probably making money from these so called incidents and upon asking my partner who works for Hyundai, he said that the cost for the replacement and labour should not of been over €500!!
Avoid at all costs this company! There are multiple other rental companies which are legit!!

The worst experience ever!
I had a reservation at 8:30 and they picked me up from the airport at 9:35. When I their staff arrived I told them my complains and his response was very ironical.
Finally we arrive at their office at 9:50. We did the procedures to complete the car rental and I gave the paper to a coleegue of them to bring me the car. He brought the car 20 minutes later with the excuse that they were washing it. When they brought it I had to clean the front windows cause I couldn't see a thing.
Finally after an almost 2 hours delay for the car pick up I left for my destination.
At the end of story I missed an important appointment because of them.
At least the return of the car was with out problems.
I had to reschedule my appointment but I'm not going to choose this company again!

DO NOT BOOK!Paid about 2k€ deposit including full insurance. When we went to pick up the car it seemed damaged so we took pictures of all the damages because the other clients there kept telling us we’d get scammed by these guys. Upon returning, they refused to give back the deposit and demanded we pay EXTRA for the “damages” though we already had full insurance. Call the police on them and they fold. Still had to pay about 150€ of the new 1500€ charge for the already damaged car.

Reply from Green Motion Greece
This is a scam. Stay away. Cancelled the car hire booking 4 days before pick up and told me to pay triple the amount when I arrived. Left me on the side of the road far from the airport.
